10 Books On My Decorating, Gardening, Entertaining Wish List

Pssst: By the time this post goes live, I’ll be in Italy. I’ll be sharing photos from there regularly on Instagram and would love to have you follow the fun! You’ll find BNOTP on Instagram here: Between Naps On The Porch Instagram

Normally when I share a decorating, gardening or entertaining/table setting book with you, it’s always one I already own. I have a “Wish List” of books I would love to eventually get. Today I thought I’d give you a little peek at my Decor, Gardening and Entertaining/Tablescaping Book Wish List. It’s an eclectic mix with a little bit of everything.

  1. At Home Sarah Style by Sarah Richardson  Sarah has written a second book! I loved her first book so I already know I want this one. It will be out soon!

2. A Flair for Living by Charlotte Moss I think this is the only Charlotte Moss decor book that I don’t own, other than her most recent one. I need to get off the fence and go ahead and order it already!

3. Country French Legacy by Charles Faudree After Charles Faudree passed away, Jenifer Jordan who had worked with him doing his photography for many years, created this book showcasing all his beautiful work. I have all his other books so I hope to add this one to my collection. I first discovered Faudree when Traditional Home featured him in their magazine every other year, how I LOVED those issues. I save them all! Charles Faudree, we miss you!

4. Highgrove: An English Country Garden by HRH The Prince of Wales Doesn’t this book look amazing! A must have for anyone who loves beautiful English gardens!

6. The Bee Cottage Story: How I Made a Muddle of Things and Decorated My Way Back To Happiness by Frances Schultz I blogged about and gave a tour of Frances beautiful cottage in this post: Tour Bee Cottage, and though her book was sold out, I was so excited when I found a copy for sale on eBay. I ordered it and a few days later got a cancellation notice when the seller notified me didn’t have the book. Womp, womp. It’s still showing temporarily out at Amazon. As soon as they get more in, I’d love to get a copy.

7. India Hicks: Island Style by India Hicks The reviews on India Hicks book look great and I like the sneak peek I saw. This would be a great book to enjoy during the cold winter months ahead.

  1. Going to Italy so soon after your African adventure, wow! Can’t wait for the photos! I LOVE Sarah too!

Oh Susan, I wouldn’t have been asking about hurricane lamps and complaining that the Classy Flea is too far away if I’d known you were leaving already! Gee whiz. But yay! You’re in Italy! Can’t wait to hear your first impressions. (I hope the flight was good.)

All of these intrigue me except the one by Mary R. Carter. You do have a fondness for those beautiful old European estates. 🙂 I’m surprised you don’t already possess that Charles Faudree. I don’t actually have any decorating books on my wish list. I don’t think I even realized they existed before I started reading your blog, lol. I do have about a bajillion books on my nightstand, at the ready. But no decorating books. I’m most intrigued by #’s 3, 4, 5, and 7. A lot of traditional and European influence, with some island thrown in. Sounds good to me. 🙂

Have a wonderful time. I know you will! Stay safe.

  3. In Italy already–love that it was a little bit sneaky!
You book wish-list is as excellent as your current collection. Like them all.

  4. Thank You for this post, just at the exact right timing. I have finished most of My Christmas shopping, except for My four Daughters. You have given Me a great idea.I can get each of them one of these books or similar books depending on their most loved interest. Now I can review each one. When I do that, one is usually for Me.I like buying 5 of the same things for Christmas.I enjoyed Your post, great fun. Denise

  5. I have the Bee Cottage on my wish list too.

Can’t wait to view your Italy instagrams. You will have such a wonderful time…enjoy every moment! Thanks for the book list. I think my favorites are…too hard to pick lol! Guess number 1 and 10 would be my least favorite.

  7. Oh, you left for Italy already!!! I forgot it is in October……have a wonderful time!! You will be swept away by the beauty, the people and the food…..oh, my, the food……. Be safe……..xoxo

  8. Have a great, safe time in Italy! I love all of your book picks. I can’t remember if you have mentioned One Man’s Folly in your library posts. If not, it is definitely one to put on your list. It is about the homes of Furlow Gatewood, a real Southern gentleman, and it is gorgeous eye candy.

  9. I read Sarah Richardson first book. Is the second one for sale? could someone post a link?

I'd love to hear from you! Please leave a comment!
