A Sweet Bird Girl in the Garden

Welcome to the 236th Metamorphosis Monday!

Hope you had a wonderful weekend! I spent all day Friday and Saturday at the Haven Conference in Atlanta. On Sunday, I finished putting out another 25 bags of mulch. That brings the total to 102 bags of mulch! Normally it wouldn’t take that much mulch but many of the beds/islands are empty, awaiting shrubs this fall.

Today I’m taking you into the yard to share a few close-ups and to share how the Zeon Zoysia sod looks after being on the ground for 4-5 days. Even after my landscaper installed 4 additional pallets of sod, bringing the pallet count to 16, we still could have used a bit more.

Come, let’s take a walk around and I’ll share some of the changes.

Front Yard Sodded with Zeon Zoysia

The island that’s always been in front of the house was reduced in size a good bit when the yard was sodded. Toward this end (the right end) of the island, I left an area in front of the shrubs to plant a few annuals throughout the year.

Prepared Annual Bed in Front of Shrubs_wm

In this overhead view looking down into the yard from an upstairs window, you can see how the island curves outward in front of the shrubs on this end. I’ve built that area up with a bit of topsoil so the flowers will be easier to see from the road.

Zeon Zoysia Sod, View from Window 2_wm

I left a nice little area in front of the shrubs, just in case I decide to go back and add in some daylilies or other flowers later on. Right now, it makes a great pathway for pulling my big flower cart. Wish I had thought to take a picture of that cart because it is my most favorite gardening tool. I couldn’t live without it! In a future post I’ll share it with you in case it’s helpful.

Cart Path

The grass is starting to settle in now. I’ve been watering it a good bit, encouraging those roots to grow, grow, grow!

Zeon Zoysia Lawn_wm

If you are thinking of sodding your yard with Zeon Zoysia, or really any zoysia, I wanted to share something I didn’t know but wish I had known. Did you know that different farms cut their sod in different lengths? All my Zeon Zoysia came from one source, Sod Atlanta, but apparently they use different types of cutting machines on the various sod farms where they grow the grass. The first 12 pallets my landscaper installed were this size.

Zeon Zoysia in Shorter Pieces

When we realized we needed more, the next four pallets that were delivered arrived this size…much, much longer. I like the longer size a lot better because there are less seams to have to grow together and it just looked better right after installation. So, the moral of this story is, when you’re buying sod, ask the landscaper to request the sod be cut from a farm that’s using machinery that cuts longer pieces, if you have a choice in the matter. You may not have a choice but it doesn’t hurt to ask.

Zeon Zoysia in Longer Pieces

I have a few suspect pieces up near the road that may or may not have to be replaced. They appear to have some green growing in the center so they may be okay…it’s a little too soon to tell. My landscaper said it’s pretty common to have a few pieces that don’t do well and he’ll come back and replace those. What do you think…think those blackish looking pieces are going to be okay or are they gonners?

Zeon Zoysia Sod That May Need to Be Replaced

One big change that I’m loving is having the grass going all the way up to the walkway on this end of the island. In the past, the island stretched out all the way to the walkway  since there was a River Birch planted at this end. There was also a cluster of small nandinas on this end which weren’t doing too well due to the birch tree. With the removal of the birch, I shortened the island and now there’s grass right up to the walkway. I love how it opened the area up where you can see the magnolia and another annual bed I have along the walkway. Let’s walk over a little closer and you check out my little bird girl.

Bushes Removed From Walkway_wm

Remember the book, Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil? Clint Eastwood later made a movie based on the book.  I loved the little bird-feeder girl pictured on the front of the book and found a small one years ago for my little annual garden in front of the magnolia. The original bird girl used to stand in Bonaventure Cemetery, a beautiful, historic cemetery located just east of Savannah, Georgia.

Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil Book

Unfortunately, she had to be removed from the cemetery. When the book (and later, the movie) came out, folks flocked to Bonaventure to tour some of the places mentioned in the book/movie and folks were chipping off pieces of her to take as a souvenir. 🙁

Bird Girl in Bonaventure

So the family had to remove her from Bonaventure to a safer place. Not sure where she ended up, maybe in a family garden perhaps?

Update: The sweet Bird Girl can now be found in the Telfair Museum in Savannah.

If you ever visit Savannah, be sure to tour Bonaventure. It is absolutely beautiful! Bonaventure is located along side the the Wilmington River and it is truly a gorgeous place. The statuary throughout is also wonderful!

My little bird girl watches over one of my annual beds. Sadly, it has no flowers at the moment.

Midnight in the Garden of Good and Eveil, Bird Girl in the Garden

Isn’t she sweet? Just love her each time I see her here in the garden.

Here’s an older photo of her from when the Blackeyed Stella daylilies and the Magnolia tree were blooming.  Pssst:  You can take a tour of Mercer House from the movie, Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil here: Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, Touring Mercer House

Remember when the walkway from the driveway to the house looked like this?

Brick Walkway Hidden by River Birch

Here’s how it looks today. Just around the curve is where you’ll find my little bird girl waiting to greet you.

Curved Brick Walkway

There is still sooooo much to be done here in the yard. So much! I’m trying to just focus on one project at the time so it doesn’t feel too overwhelming. It’s time to add some color to the beds…stay tuned, that’s coming soon! 🙂

Update: I’ve made a change to how the links will display for Met Monday. They will display randomly each time you visit BNOTP so all participants will have a chance to have their link displayed near the top of the group of links. You’ll be able to easily tell which links you’ve already visited since those links will change color once visited. Looking forward to the Before and Afters posted for this Metamorphosis Monday!

Metamorphosis Monday:

One on sidebar

If you are participating in Metamorphosis Monday you will need to link up the “permalink” to your MM post and not your general blog address. To get your permalink, click on your post name, then just copy and paste the address that shows up in the address bar at the top of your blog, into the “url” box for InLinkz.

In order to link up, you’ll need to include a link in your MM post back to the party so the other participants will have an opportunity to receive visits from your wonderful blog readers.

Please observe these few rules:

Only link up Before and After posts that are home, gardening, crafting, painting, sewing, cooking, DIY related.

Do not link up if you’re doing so to promote a website or product.

Do not link up a post that was just linked last week since a lot of readers will have already seen that post.

Do not type in ALL CAPS. It spreads the links waaaay out.

Let’s try something fun today! Please visit the person who linked before you and after you…that way everyone will get some visits.

Welcome! Thanks for coming to the party!

  4. Wow, it looks amazing….New sod for front and back is on my To Do list, but right now it’s number 73…lol I cannot believe the transformation of how much you can see your house now….it looks wonderful!

  5. Susan,
The sod is such a nice addition to your landscaping, but I agree. . .
some are certainly needing to be replaced! I’ve always thought of sod,
but “Mr. Ed” (aka Farmer Boy) prefers seed!!!
I love the sweet bird girl in your garden!!!
Hope your time in Haven was all you hoped it would be. . .
looking forward to hearing about your trip once you’ve caught your breath, dear friend!!!
Thank you for hosting Metamorphosis Monday each week!!!
    Fondly,
    Pat

  6. Hello Susan, the garden is looking wonderful! It is very rewarding work. I LOVE the Bird Girl. She is so very sweet – I have been wanting one for my garden. I think the original one is now in a museum in Savannah, it has been quite a while since I read about her. I am so delighted to join your party, I do appreciate you hosting,
    Kathy

  7. Susan, the fresh mulch in your yard looks so wonderful and I bet it smells wonderful! It was so nice to finally meet you this weekend and talk at dinner. Haven was so much fun!

  8. Thanks so much for hosting!

  9. Thank you so much for hosting Susan! Congrats on you getting to work with true value!

  10. Wow! Your yard is looking great, Susan! I know you are loving it! I say those black sod squares are goners, though. They tried to tell me the same thing when I bought some at Home Depot earlier this year and it wasn’t true. Thanks for hosting!…hugs…Debbie

  11. Your yard is looking so good with the new sod. Don’t know about those black pieces, but at least the landscaper will replace them if they don’t live. Your bird girl statue is so sweet. Love that book/movie. Thanks so much for hosting Metamorphosis Monday. Hope you’ve recovered from putting out all that mulch.

  12. It was good to meet you this weekend at Haven, Susan!

  13. It was good to meet you this weekend at Haven, Susan!

  14. Susan, your yard is absolutely gorgeous. I love you gave your beds have a little curve. It sounds like your landscaper is pretty reliable so those dark pieces may green up and be better for it.

Also, thank you for setting up the random link. I try to visit as many as I can and spread a little blog love. I appreciate that your links change color since I can’t always remember which I visited and which I have not read yet. I find your followers are very thoughtful and do visit me. I am just thrilled when they leave me a comment. So thank you for hosting and letting me join in your fun.

  15. What a difference that lush grass makes!! Must be so soft under your feet, too! Beautiful little garden girl statue. What a shame people were ruining the one in the cemetery. So disrespectful! My husband works in a cemetery, keeping up with the stones, etc, so I hear him talk about them often. 🙂
Congratulations on getting featured for the DIY squad! How exciting. Your peach jam looked delicious. I posted a comment there. I can a lot too. 🙂

  16. Your yard make-over is truly fabulous Susan!
I expect you to walk out of the front door any minute looking like Scarlet in Gone with the Wind.
    Thanks for hostessing,
    Cindy

  17. Your yard looks beautiful! What a difference to remove the tree by the walkway! You little garden girl statue is precious– love it! Everything you do is so pretty. 🙂
Thanks for the link-up, as always!

Susan, everything is looking so lovely. You have made such a dramatic change ~ it’s truly been a metamorphosis. I love all the improvements and you’re little girl statue is so cute.

Just one question though … when you’re done there think you could come up here and um … supervise the metamorphosis at my house? 😀

  19. Your yard is looking fabulous! I do think those two pieces of sod nearest the road might be goners, all right.

What a great idea is that to change the order randomly of the posts! Lots who hook on last probably don’t get many lookers. Somebody should have thought of this sooner.

  20. Your yard looks fantastic! When I lived in Georgia my favorite place to visit was Savannah. Thank you for hosting!

  21. Grass is looking great-know you have some sore muscles hauling all that mulch!

  22. Congrats on being on the DIY Squad!!! And, thanks for hosting this party! Life to the full! Melissa @ DaisyMaeBelle

  23. Susan, what an amazing and beautiful transformation…. it opens up the front view of your home! Great job! (BTW) love, love your blog and decorating style — it’s always “top drawer” ♥

  24. The yard looks great! The original Bird Girl statue is located now at Telfair Museum in Savannah. I was able to tour the Mercer-Williams home and see the statue this spring. I highly recommend visiting Savannah for several days if anyone hasn’t yet been there. It’s a lovely city!

  25. Your yard looks great Susan! Nice work!

  26. Oh Susan its looking fabulous. I know you are tickled pink over the whole thing! I’ve never grown zoysia grass so I don’t know about your black sod areas. I understand its pretty tough though. You’re going to enjoy planting flowers out there! Please keep us posted!

  27. Hi, Susan!
So glad you had fun in Haven!
Your yard looks so “clean” and welcoming! Just wonderful!
I wish I could “smell” it through the screen… LOL
Susan, I saw the pics Jane posted: Holy moly! You look sooo beautiful, girl! Love that pretty pink-colored ruffled shirt! You’re just a doll! 🙂
    ~Hugs to you~
    Cecilia
P.S. Congrats to True Value! They have great taste! 🙂

    • Awww, Cecilia…you are so sweet! Better gets those eyes checked, though. 🙂 Thanks so much, Cecilia. It should be a fun year being part of the True Value Squad. 🙂

  28. Susan…your yard looks incredible…I remember so very long ago a garden/landscaping show that was based out of Jacksonville, Florida really stressed the point of having “islands” in your yard…and your islands are beautiful….I know how much hard work that must have been…and the fruits of your labor are very apparent in your gorgeous yard! It was so wonderful spending time with you at Haven…hope to see you again very soon!!

    • Shirley, I loved seeing you and just wish we had had more time to talk. That was a fast two days…just flew by! Thanks…definitely a work in progress out there.

  29. Shelley Humpal says

Hi Susan: Like always we are traveling in a parallel universe. We have been doing a huge yard project all summer too (although our yard isn’t that huge). We also had to have a tree removed, put up new privacy fence, added shrubbery to freshen up the 30 year old beds, trimmed trees and shrubs etc, and had to make a new bed where the new tree will go and after all that was done we added our 82 bag of mulch (same mulch by the way lol) and my husband installed all new led lighting in the back 40. Really it’s just the back yard by the lot line but we like to call it the back 40.

We are so thrilled with the results although the tree will have to wait until next year but the bed is ready. We now have a beautiful garden that we’ve designed ourselves. No landscapers. A lot of work though. I would love to invite you over to my secret garden.

  30. Thanks, Susan! Just linked from my car!

  31. Hi Susan,
The yard is looking beautiful. I love the way you rearranged the flower beds. The new sod is coming in nicely. You’d be surprised how those blackish spots can change and grow in despite what they look like now. Good luck! I looks wonderful.

  32. First of all, your house looks gorgeous and picture perfect with your neat yard and clean cut grass! Your Zen-Zoysia are so lovely too. Your yard is looking amazing dear Susan, you are a talented lady, as I love all the plans you have for the yard! Thank you so much for MM, such inspiring party. Have a happy weekend, sweet lady.
    FABBY

  33. Oh, I forgot! Your Little angel is simply adorable and perfect in your beautiful garden…it makes it regal!

    Fabby

  34. Mary from Virginia says

LOVE LOVE that yard! What a lovely change. You have done a wonderful job in your planning and thought of how it would come together. I know you will have a ball planting annuals.

I am heading to Savannah at the end of the month. My sister doesn’t know we are going to this shop on the river front to get my own Savannah bird girl 😉

  35. Hi Susan! Your yard is the perfect subject for your party “Metamorphosis Monday”! Thanks so much for hosting for us. It was great to meet you at Haven.

  36. Susan, It was so good to see you again this year at Haven! I loved being able to sit and talk with you after lunch! You are so sweet!! Your yard looks spectacular, and I can’t believe you put down over a hundred bags of mulch! You are such a tiny thing! am impressed!!
It was a delight to see you, and you looked beautiful!! Take good care of yourself!
    Thanks so much for hosting!
    xo-Lisa

    • Lisa, I loved seeing you again this year! Thanks so much for all the wonderful information, too…loved talking with you! Oh, you are so sweet! I’m wishing you the very best year ever! We are both staying healthy this year, right? 🙂 XO
      Susan

  37. It looks..Marrrrrrvelous !! my mom always loved a beautiful yard and I guess after all the Sunday rides I’ve picked up the habit of noticing a yard too…the bird girl is darling..I’m not catholic but I’ve always wanted a St Christopher statue for my yard…thinking I’ll have to keep an eye out for a bird girl too!!

  38. Susan, your yard look fabulous. I knew it would. You may be surprised how quickly those black squares green up. Give them a couple of weeks then I would ask that they be replaced.
I noticed a couple of people told you that the “Bird Girl” was in the Telfair Museum. Next time you get to Savannah I will treat you to lunch and a visit to see her! BTW, I think the idea of a blogger gathering in Savannah would be awesome. There are a lot of bloggers in this are who would support it. I have no idea how to go about a large affair but I sure could help put together an informal get together.
I am still grinning about you good news.

  39. I’m a big yard person, so I have followed closely the last few weeks. It’s so exciting to see the changes . Love every decision you have made. I was wondering if you thought about cutting a few of the magnolia limbs off that are close to the ground. It might open that end up a little. It is the most beautiful magnolia I’ve ever seen. Good luck with your grass, it’s beautiful.

  40. The little garden girl is definitely a beauty, Susan, makes your home even more welcoming….Christine

  41. I have really enjoyed watching the transformation of your yard. We did our entire property with sod a few years back and now we just fill in every fall where we have some sad spots. Your statue is pretty and I love how your walkway is opened up. Beautiful!

  42. Hi Susan,
Your lawn is looking amazing. It just takes time for the sod to root. Next spring you will be thrilled. I can see all those little roots sinking their tips into your soil. I’m sending thoughts of rain your way.

  43. Rattlebridge Farm says

The mulching looks fantastic, as does your whole yard. I like how you built up the beds so the flowers can be seen from the road. I’m a novice gardener, and I’ve learned from and enjoyed this series.

  44. Oh my, that’s alot of sod! Your property is looking like a gorgeous park! Thanks so much for the party, Susan.

    Jeanette

  45. Beautiful! I love your winding path to the front door and your Magnolia tree is a star, so grand! When I was growing up in Houston, we had a big Magnolia tree in our front yard too. My mom used to float the flowers in a big bowl and their wonderful fragrance would waft through the room, maybe through the house .. I don’t remember that!?! Now a question! Are the yards in your neighborhood fenced in? I’m just wondering how everyone keeps track of their dogs and kids! And, do you have basements? I’ve never lived in a house with a basement. Your neighbors garage looks like it’s lower than their house so I wondered if there was a basement there too. I can’t wait to see the flowers 🙂

    • Thanks so much Nancy! A lot of folks have fenced in back yards but you don’t see that many fenced in front yards. Occasionally, you’ll see a white picket fence in front, but not that often. My back yard is fenced in, although part of the fence is still down since I want to have some trees installed along the fence in back where I took down 3 bad looking Leyland Cypress. My neighbor on the left of me has a fenced in backyard and my neighbor across the street does, so a lot of the houses in my neighborhood do have the back yards fenced. The ones that do all have dogs, too. Definitely comes in handy when you have a dog.
About the basements, a lot of the homes do have basements, it usually depends on the lot whether they have a basement. My house has a full daylight basement with windows down the side and across the back. You can see it better in this post showing when the decks and porch were added on the back: https://betweennapsontheporch.net/building-a-screened-in-porch-welcome-to-the-very-first-metamorphosis-monday-screened-in-porch-and-deck-addition/ Some houses in Georgia are designed where the garage is under the house and takes up part of the basement. Those are usually called “Drive Unders.” My garage is a side entry garage, as opposed to a drive-under, so that enabled me to have a full daylight basement since the garage isn’t taking up part of the basement. The house that you see next door has the garage built underneath the house. I have always preferred a side entry garage mainly because you don’t have to carry groceries/packages up stairs. Hope that helps. It’s so interesting how different styles of homes vary across the country and across the world. 🙂

      • Thank you Susan for answering all my questions! You are so right, it is intriguing how homes vary in other places and its fun to see the differences. We grew up in Houston and now live in N California .. no basements! It seems it would be wonderful to have one, the walk out kind! (I watch a lot of House Hunters :)) I would prefer a side entry garage too. I had grandparents in Michigan who had a basement but it wasn’t finished and it wasn’t fun. I’m glad to know there are fences there too, such a relief 🙂 I was imagining wild dogs and kids running aimlessly around the neighborhood 🙂 I looked at the post of your deck and screened in porch .. WOW! It looks beautiful and really expands your living space, how nice! I especially love your screened in porch. I clicked on a couple of links that took me to an after Christmas post instead of where they were supposed to go. I had fun checking out some of your older posts too and there is still more to see!

        • Thanks Nancy for telling me about the links. I just clicked on three of them and they were all wrong. When I moved the blog a little over a year ago, my designer used a plugin that was supposed to convert all the existing links to the correct link, but now I’m wondering if it just scrambled them all. I just changed the three that I found in that post to the correct links…fixed the sheers for the porch, painted hutch and covering swing chains links to the correct links. Thanks again for letting me know about that. If you see any other links that don’t go where they should, appreciate so much if you’ll leave me a comment letting me know and I’ll get it changed. What a mess that post was! I hope I fixed them all.
Yea, we don’t have any dogs running around but we do have wild coyotes in this neighborhood so cats and small dogs are NOT safe outdoors, especially at night! Scary!

          • Thank you for fixing the link! I just looked at the “more pictures” of your screened in porch .. I love it! I love your hutch, it is perfect 🙂 Your painting story was funny! I had a similar experience. We bought a pine armoire from a shop that was going out of business. They had taken the doors off and used the open armoire for display shelves. When they found the doors for us they were split 🙁 so I had to fill them in and paint it. I primed it with a couple of coats of primer then decided white would be good .. wrong! So after a couple of coats of white, I decided on a very pale aqua. My paint started drying too fast on the last coat and I kept repainting to smooth it out. I don’t remember how many coats I ended with (I am by no means a savvy painter). I was glad to read about the paint conditioner, hadn’t heard about that before! That would have been nice to know about back then. Your hutch is so pretty painted and perfect in it’s spot. That is a happy makeover. I am a newbe to the blog world, and I love yours so much 🙂 so I decided to catch up looking at your older posts. I did find other links that didn’t link but I don’t remember where. I was looking at your craft office transformation, there may be one there? I will keep you posted if I find more. I loved seeing your office make over. Your sons room was wonderful, what a great room to grow up in! And the mural you painted .. very impressive! I can’t imagine painting over it. Thank goodness for pictures! You are a very talented girl 🙂

            • Awww, thanks Nancy…you are so nice! Don’t feel bad, I’m definitely not the most savvy painter either. As long as we are happy with the final product, it’s okay if it takes us a little while to get there. Glad you rescued that armoire! 🙂

  46. Susan,
Your yard looks wonderful! Thanks for taking us along with you. Speaking of longer sections of sod, I passed a truck the other day carrying rolls of sod the size of the huge round hay bales. Bet those would do nicely. I didn’t realize they did them so big. Hope everything continues to thrive in your yard. Love the islands! Thanks for hosting Met Monday!

  47. Man I bet you will be glad when the yard is finished -that’s a lot of sod and mulch! It looks great -so worth all the effort. Will you be posting about your experiences at Haven? I have always wanted to go to a blog conference. Jennifer

    • Jennifer, I will try to do that. In the meantime, click under the Blogging Tips category at the top of BNOTP and you’ll see the post I wrote last year after Haven. I included a bit of information from each class I took last year.

  48. Susan, the yard looks wonderful. Nothing like new sod! We’ve had plenty of rain next door in Alabama, so I’m guessing you have too! Thanks for hosting another Met Monday.
    regards,
    Allison

  49. Oh Susan your yard looks gorgeous! I love the sod and the new openness! The annuals will add a beautiful pop of color too. I wish SO much I had been at Haven to meet you….I will be there next year!! I had lunch today with Yvonne and she was so happy to meet you too. XO, Pinky

  50. PS, I love the idea of mixing up how the posts appear. I thank you since I am not always available to post as soon as the links goo up. XO

  51. It’s so funny you showed your bird girl statue and mentioned that book/movie. My blog post today is “Antiques on Film: Midnight In The Garden Of Good & Evil”. Small world. Take care – Dawn

Susan, your yard looks wonderful and amazing. Looks like a new home. All the work really was worth it. I bet you are so happy. The yard and home is never ending. You need to take a break and enjoy what you got . I might be too radical but I would have them replace the yellow patches. Normally I always listen to what the experts say, but then I wish I did what I felt. Just had an issue lately with my yard and they told me a bunch of baloney. It got worse and not better. Thanks for sharing!

    • That’s good advice! Other than planting a few flowers, I think I may just take a break for a bit. I’m pretty tired after all this tree removing, sod installing business. lol Thanks, Peggy!

  53. Kerry@homecrush says

I adore your statue and it looks just perfect where you’ve placed it! I was supposed to be at Haven but my 13-year-old took a Nerf dart to the eye and I ended up in the hospital with him instead. So sorry to have missed a chance to meet some of my favorite bloggers in person!! Thanks for hosting!

  54. Susan, the yard transformation is stunning. I would guess that when you aren’t lugging mulch, you are taking wonderful peeks out the windows or front door to admire your “new” yard. I also suspect that every time you drive up to your home you will have to smile at the changes. What a wonderful gift to yourself! Enjoy, MM

  55. Hello Susan, your garden and yard look great, lots of hard work! Sharing my Pallet Potting Table and Tray this week! Thanks for hosting!

  56. That is a lot of sod! What a project and how beautiful it already looks, imagine when the seams are gone! Our grass looks so strange this year. After last year’s drought, we thought we had lost it all. Then, we had sooooo much rain that it actually came back and is growing so fast that it actually needs mowing about every other day, it just isn’t pretty. It looks different than before it all burned from the heat last summer. Your home is simply gorgeous!

    • Thanks, Sue! I wonder why it looks different. Ummm, I wonder if doing a soil test would help. I wish I had thought to do a soil test weeks before the sod was put in. Mine probably needs lime, that seems to be what GA soil normally needs.

  57. ~Susan~
Looks wonderful !! seems like we have to have a mess before the beauty !!
I took my daughter to Savannah last May 2012, and Bonaventure Cemetery was our first stop to tour, it was amazing! We walked so so much, and took a lot of pictures for sure ! our hotel was right on the waterfront and we would love to go back someday . I wish I would have brought one of the bird feeder – girl .
    have a super day
    Paula
    In.

  58. Susan, everything is looking so lovely in your yard! Can’t wait to see what flowers you end up adding in. Your little bird girl is adorable, I loved that book/movie. How sad that people would actually chip off a piece from the statue!
    Hugs,
    Beth P
