Barbara Eberlein: Beautiful Rooms!

Recently I came across a designer with whom I was unfamiliar.  Her name is Barbara Eberlein and I love her work.  Her portfolio includes a variety of work in the areas of Preservation, Classic, Contemporary and Second Homes.

Here are a few of the spaces she has designed.  You’ll find many more at her website which I’ll link to at the end of this post.

I love this blue and white bedroom.  Notice the deep baseboards.  The radiator and molding make me think this is an older home.  Looks like this paper was continued in the room across the hall, too.  I love how blue and white looks beautiful with white accents but also looks gorgeous with beautiful wood pieces like the gorgeous secretary.

Wood paneled rooms always make my heart beat faster.  This one is stunning!

Love this amazing kitchen!

Another cozy room with wonderful toile wallpaper and a dormer window.  I love it when a dormer window is large enough to hold a chair for some cozy reading time.

Green is my favorite color so I had to share this wonderful room.  Notice the stunning Venetian glass chandelier.

Beautiful color for the walls.  I looked to see if Barbara Eberlein had written a book showcasing her work, but unfortunately I didn’t find one on Amazon.  I would so buy it if she had.  I love her style!

I’ve always dreamed of having a dining room that’s doubles as a library.  It would be wonderful to dine surrounded by beautiful books. Your dinner guest would feel immediately at ease in this beautiful space.  Hope there’s a fireplace in this room; that would be make it over-the-top perfect!

  1. All of those rooms are just so gorgeous! The designer seems to be able to bring out the best in each space with the whatever architecture is given her to work with. Thanks for sharing Barbara with us!

  7. So glad you found this designer. I love her style. I love a traditional, classic look and she does it perfectly. It is so good to see that the are still some designers specializing in this style. Three are way too many mid-century moderns with chevron stripes out there. Thanks for sharing.

  8. I so agree, Susan. Great design style. Thanks for sharing.

Yippee!!! Finally a designer who uses color. I would have guessed she was British based on the rooms, but she is from Philly. Thanks for introducing her

  10. Love, love, love that green dining room! Traditional with a modern twist!

  11. It is so nice to see a designer who uses color, and lots of it! That wood paneled room is gorgeous…but I like yours better! 😉

So rich, such depth and feeling. I like neutral rooms, but not every room. Her colors are just fabulous.

p.s. Since I’m really not terribly fond of mid-century, it was a delight to savor what I really love: classic. And I love every room.

  15. I’ll have to come back again in another life for any of these exquisite and fabulous rooms!!!!!! Thank you Susan.

    Thank you!

  17. I see some similarities in her design and yours. The wood paneling looks very much like yours. I am loving the green for myself, and would love to breakfast in that kitchen. Great post, and thank you for introducing me to Ms. Eberlein.

  18. Lovely inspiration pictures! I love the room with the dormer window and black and white toile.

Thank you for the great introduction of Barbara Eberlein. Her style is gorgeous!
I pinned that green dining room-so pretty!

  20. Oh my, those rooms are striking. Imagine being a designer, working with beautiful colors, fabrics, furniture, wall papers and such. It sounds wonderful, doesn’t it? I’m sure designers have their share of stress, too, but to be involved in creating something so beautiful would be grand. That blue and white bedroom is truly stunning. I love everything about it. I absolutely love that window and the way the dormer wall mimics the Palladian arch. The white closet door and wood secretary provide a break and some relief to the wallpaper – which I love. I am really starting to get into wallpaper again. It’s so warm and homey. I think we’re going to see a big swing back toward wallpapered rooms.

I love the crisp green and white in the dining room. And that wall of windows! *Sigh* I generally see variations of red for dining rooms, so I don’t recall even ever seeing green in a dining room but boy, does it ever look gorgeous. It’s elegant, without being stuffy. And what a nice size room! The wood floor is gorgeous too. Yikes!

I agree, she does wonderful work. Thanks for sharing!

  21. These are gorgeous rooms, Susan!!! I definitely love her style and would like to have a book of her design work. I love the rooms with the wallpaper. 🙂

    Have a wonderful week!

  22. Susan…thanks for introducing Barbara Eberlein’s gorgeous designs/work today…love her style and I can see how that wood paneled room made your heart go pitter patter…beautiful!

  23. Hi, Susan!
Since I love colors, I do love all those rooms, too, especially that very British wood paneled one, that green dining room and that yellow room! Actually in my home all the walls are painted, too. I even wish I could change their color seasonally! If I could I’d choose soft yellow and soft peach for spring, dark yellow for summer, orange and terracotta for fall and eventually red and green for winter/Christmas time! I realize it sounds a little… crazy, but wouldn’t it be amazing to change the color of our home’s walls whenever they would work better with our seasonal decorations? (It’s a good thing hubby doesn’t read this! lol) 🙂
    ~Hugs to you~

  24. How inspiring! The pictures are lovely. I would love the room with the bookcases because I just adore books.
