Welcome to the 151st Tablescape Thursday!
Though the porch is still decorated in red, white and blue for it’s 4th of July makeover, the heat here in Georgia has me dreaming of sandy white beaches.
It very much reminded me of the green color in these fun beachy salad plates I found at HomeGoods a few summers ago.
The glittery starfish is a gift from a friend…thanks M!
I needed pretty white sand for the centerpiece so I stopped by Michael’s. I think I should have used a bit more. You can barely see it inside on the bottom of the lantern.
While in the sand/shell/beachy department at Michael’s, I came across these cute shell necklaces.
They were only $5.99 for a package of six.
I folded the napkins so the scalloped edges would show. Don’t they remind you of ocean waves rolling in to the shore?
Starfish decorate our glasses and are attached simply with raffia. The shell necklaces worked well as “napkin rings” for this beach themed table setting. At only $1 each, they would make very affordable favors for your dinner guests to take home with them at the end of the evening.
What’s your favorite outdoor summertime dining memory? One of mine is grabbing a bucket of fried chicken from Folks Restaurant (along with sweet iced tea, biscuits and all the fixin’s) and spreading out a patchwork quilt for a picnic on the lawn area in front of Stone Mountain…just in time for the laser show.
A little candlelight…
I love summer…everything about it. Even the heat. I know, I’m weird.
Looking forward to your beautiful tablescapes!

I'm cooler just looking at your seascape! Love the large lantern with all the sea shells. the green glasses are so cool, pun intended! great salad plates too. Love your candle pics.. and the one of the lazer show! Fun table all the way around. Great idea with the necklaces! many blessings, marlis
Susan, Thank you for hosting TT. I look forward to this event every week.
Your summer beachy table is darling! I too, love that cheery happy green! You paired it wonderfully with blue and white. This combo looks so fresh and summery. Keeping this table simple makes the green glasses pop all the more. Refreshing!
And about being weird… only in your preference for hot humid weather. Other than that I find you perfectly nice and normal!

What do you serve when you create a beachy/nautical tablescape? Other than tuna fish salad or shrimp cocktail, I rarely serve seafood…you know the drill…when you live in beef/poultry country, you serve the local products. There isn't a lot of local crab, lobster, etc. around here. To add to the dilemma, Sweet Mister doesn't like fish…bummer. Your tablescape is wonderful, as always. I was immediately drawn to the green tumblers…amazing color! I love lanterns; I'm so glad that they are abundantly available these days. Yours is beautiful. Thank you for sharing your marvelous design and for hosting us each week for Tablescape Thursday. It's been a great first year because of your generosity. I appreciate you! Cherry Kay
I am always amazed at your tablescapes. They make me to try and do better. Love the candle lantern and lobster plates
So soft and inviting…love all the colors together and the added accent of the starfish on the glass is too cute! I LOVE Old Time Pottery!!
Thanks for hosting TT and have a GREAT evening!
Aledia~

Summer is my favorite season, Susan! I love everything about it.
I love your beautiful beachy tablescape, but now I've a craving for a crabcake. 🙂
Love this table Susan!! I love the green glasses too! Thanks for hosting!
Hi Susan,
Another lovely tablescape-looks so summery!
Thank you for hosting,
Carolyn
I love your beach tablescape! I like that same color of green, too. I call it "Grinch Green!" I also posted my Beach Tablescape which included shells that I got from beaches in Florida–including ones from Sanibel Island ( 39 years ago…) I hold on to things for a long time, too.
Love the green glasses with the starfish tied with rafia. Love the table especially at night with the candles lit.
What a lovely, cool & serene look to this table, Susan! I adore that lantern & the acid lime green with the navy. Sooooo preppy!
I'm laughing about you keeping things a long time. I can't TELL you how many times I hear "Mother, you never throw anything away!" Yes, DD, that's because just as soon as I do, I NEED it again. LOL
Very pretty table! Thanks for doing TT week after week. You amaze me, truly.
fondly,
Rett
I love the look – It has a fresh, Summer look ! You did a great job.
The Ole Time pottery close to me closed a while back . 🙁 Sure miss that place.
You've worked your magic again, this tablescape is gorgeous. The colors work so well with your decor on the porch. First the lantern centerpiece is gorgeous. I love the candle and the beachy shells and starfish. The green glasses are a perfect color match to the green crabs on the plates. The white charges are a perfect match to make the plates pop. The only better, by candlelight! Gorgeous.
Thanks for hosting

Une table de rêve… une table qui appartient à l'été…
Un parfum de vacance flotte et il doit être bon que de partager un repas autour de cette ambiance…
gros bisous.
Love the large lantern in the center! Makes such a great statement. Those green glasses are awesome and the starfish added on the outside is perfect! What a fun idea having the seashell necklaces for napkin rings! All your seashell accents are great (can't believe you have them from so long ago!) The bright blue stripes on the lobster plates are perfect!
Wow..beautiful table setting. just gorgeous. love your blog and ur house. following you and also added you to my sidebar.
Oh my goodness, love it as always Susan!!! It just makes me feel like heading to the beach!

Susan, what is not to love about this table. It is so refreshing cool. Your glasses make the darling green on the plates pop even more. Thanks for hosting each week, I look forward to it.
hugs ~lynne~
Time AGAIN for the Fifi Flowers Dog Painting Contest… oui oui oui YOUR dog painted… today is the kick off party at a FAB table!!!
Marsha, I love that! I'm going to start calling that color green, Grinch Green. 🙂
I love the vivid blue/green contrasting accents in this beachy 'scape. The shell necklaces as napkin rings are brilliant!
You truly are an artist with an amazing eye for detail….you create visual metaphors.
My favorite visual metaphor is perhaps the scalloped edge of the napkins as ocean waves.
Perfect!
Hugs/blessings,
Lana
Thursday is my favorite day! TT day!! Your table is so cool and refreshing! So beautiful! Thank you for hosting, Susan!
What a "refreshing table escape!" That lime green has "hit" me, too, and I've been using it in accents "all over the place." Just painted an old rocking chair lime green…it's going on the dock. franki
susan this is one of my favourites. I love the green glasses. i need to pluck up some courage and do my own tablescape for next time… There is so much wonderful inspiration here and I feel like pinning all day long onto my boards….

Love your beachy tablescape! Those HomeGoods dishes are so fun! I love the strings of shells you used for your napkins, too. So clever & simple.
I have to ask about the laser light show at Stone Mountain. We'll be visiting my parents in a couple of weeks, and Stone Mountain was on the list of places to visit, but if there's an evening laser show – we'll want to schedule our trip for the evening vs the morning. Is it only on special days of the week or just for special occasions? Thanks for sharing.
You have done it again, another wonderful table setting! The colors are refreshing for the hot hot days.
I wish we had an Old Time Pottery here; love that lantern!
Lax, Here's a link that will give you the exact schedule for the lasershow. http://festivals.stonemountainpark.com/mini-section/?id=5&pid=53. If the link doesn't work, I found the schedule by Googling Stone Mountain Lasershow.
So pretty! I love that color green too, especially with the blue and white. I also love how you used the necklaces for napkin rings and you have such great lanterns! Thanks for the info on the laser show. I've never been to Stone Mountain but have heard many great things about it and this is one more! May have to plan a trip! Beautiful tablescape!
As always beautiful table
hope you have air condition on the porch. I know it's hot there and here also
You have got to be the world's best tablescaper ever! I look forward every week to see your settings.
Hi lovely lady.
Your Tablescape is Beautiful as always !!! I love the green with the white so crisp looking and the Lantern is gorgeous with your China Susan. The colors are so refreshing for the Hot Summer !!

XXOO Diane
I LOVE those green glasses! They just make the table. Once again, your table scape is absolutely gorgeous! Thanks for hosting!

We were both thinking "cool" this week, with blue and green tables! Those little blue-striped plates are adorable — and just right with the green glasses. I'd have never thought to embellish the glasses as you did!
So beautiful and soothing! I wish I could join the party and do a tablescape but I'm still painting; I've finally progressed to the kitchen. Woohoo! Come see my progress at make–do.blogspot.com.
Love your patriotic 'scape too. It was fun hearing about it beforehand, but even better seeing what you actually created!
By the way, I'm another freak – I love the heat too.
Love this! Those plates are adorable! The colors are great. Thanks for sharing. I love summer and all things beach!
Those plates are the most perfect, perfect, perfect thing!!!!!!
so pretty!
What a beautiful table setting. I love the green glasses and the lantern. You really know how to set a table. Just lovely!!
I love those colors together. What a beauty.. The cool, fresh seascape is just what this warm weather needs… I love, love, love this tablescape.
HI – I love Old Time Pottery – we have a few down here!
That seaside tablescape is one of my favorites – I love using starfish in any decor (and that green is one of my favorite shades!)
Thanks for sharing –
Linda
Beautiful, Susan. This setting would cool the hot temperatures of summer. Absolutely lovely. ~ Sarah
Your table is beautiful Susan! I'm crazy about the lantern, I'd love to find something like that here, it's a great accessory. This table is so fresh and white, all your plates are gorgeous and it makes one feel light and cool by looking at it! Thank you for hosting, once more! Love, FABBY
Susan I love the way those green glasses glow in the candlelight.
I always love seeing what you've done on your beautiful porch-room. Love that center piece. The apple green glasses are the perfect pop of color.
Why I didn't visit this site before? I was thinking to add some gorgeous items for interior and the shell necklaces is a great idea to enrich my dining. Truly aristocratic.
Oh my gosh, Susan! You so take me back! I grew up in the Atlanta suburbs and your post had me longing for home! I was attracted to your post initially because I have a beachy themed home and am always looking for some new decorating ideas, but then when you mentioned Folks all I could think of was PEACH MUFFINS! Those things are my kyrptonite! And your pictures of the Stone Mountain fireworks show had me longing for my childhood when my dad would take me and we would do the same thing- bucket of chicken, blanket, and the show of a lifetime. Man! Those were the days! I currently live in NC but now I can’t wait to take my kids to the ATL just to experience those things for themselves! Thanks for the memories. Oh, and the tablescape is gorgeous too!
Hi,
I know this post is old, but I love the centerpiece and am trying to find similar lanterns. Do you know if these are still sold somewhere?
Thanks!
Natalie
I bought that one a long time ago in Old Time Pottery so just not sure if you could find them anywhere now. A google image search online came up with this: https://www.google.com/search?tbs=simg:CAESVRpTCxCwjKcIGjcKNQgBEg_1PA8sD2QPHA8oDSEMDMgUaIOHuazUHmKVk2JSH2mmvjBPGiIqYYzWtoPgITVaW6mOKDAsQjq7-CBoKCggIARIEu69o8ww&q=beach+lantern+centerpieces&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=kg03U_OuF8PJsQTE2YHgBg&ved=0CDIQsw4&biw=1360&bih=683
