Flea Market Decorating

Love rummaging through a thrift store of flea market in search of an undiscovered treasure? This book offers great ideas for seeing those flea market finds in a whole new light.

3 Things I Like About This Book:

  • Lots of ideas and suggestions for repurposing or repairing flea market treasures. This book really makes you look at things in a different way so you don’t pass up on any great finds.
  • Contains step-by-step instructions (with pictures) showing how to rewire a lamp, remove old paint finishes and clean up other typical flea market pieces you’re likely to stumble across when on the hunt including brass, silver, vintage linen and upholstered furniture.
  • Tons of great pictures! Warning: this book will make you want to hop in your car and go antiquing/thrifting!

  1. i have that book in my library too. it was published long ago, as i remember, but i think it is as current nowadays as it was back then. joan@anythinggoeshere

  2. I have this book in my library and it’s one of my favorites!!! Some of my best “finds” have come from yard sales, the Dollar Tree, and thrift stores. As a former decorator (I’m retired), I always tried to teach my clients what I was doing and why, and to encourage them to think “outside the box” as to how a piece might be used many different ways.

Just this weekend I scored TWO huge PB breadboard plaques which sold retail for somewhere between $39 – $79, (can’t remember) for TWO dollars each. My daughter and I now each have one. Just love it when I can score a find like that.

Thanks for featuring this great book!

    Trish
