Oh, do I have a wonderful home for you today! It had me dreaming of the darling cottages we so often see in Carmel. It also reminded me of the adorable cottage in the movie, The Holiday. This home is decorated in French Country style and exudes charm at every turn!
You’re also going to come away with some wonderful ideas for your Christmas decorating since the photos were taken around Christmastime. Never too early to start planning!
The oohing and ahhhing starts before you even enter into this home with this charming exterior made of stone. The home also has a cedar shake roof. Love those!
I’m am swooning over this arched door! What is it about an arched door that makes us weak in the knees! The owners found many of the antique and vintage treasures you’ll be seeing on our tour during visits to the Scott Antique Market, a wonderful antique market that’s held one weekend a month here in Atlanta.
Does this make you want to get out the greenery and start decorating for Christmas? Such a beautiful stairway!
I love how the living room feels like it came together over time. Beautiful mirror! So love all the arched doors and windows throughout this beautiful home!
I was shocked to read that this lovely pencil rendering of the home hanging above the mantel was found wadded up in the boat garage behind the home! I’m so glad they found it and preserved it in such a lovely way.
I would LOVE to have a home with doorways between the rooms like this. Just look at how beautiful they are and the extra storage they offer. Oh, why don’t they build homes like this now?! Absolutely adore this!
I’ve noticed so many creative and fun bar ideas for homes over the last year or so. It’s had me wishing a time or two I had a spot for one of those cute bar carts I keep seeing all over Blogland. I actually started a board on Pinterest named “Creative Bar Designs For Entertaining.” I’m definitely pinning this one to that board!
Great location for the bar in this home, as guests arrive for the Christmas party, they can be greeted with a bubbly glass of Champagne punch. Notice it even has a sink!
Speaking of champagne punch, if you need a recipe for really good one, you’ll find my favorite one here: Insanely Awesome Champagne Punch
This is my dream kitchen. I love so many things about it, I hardly know where to start. I love that it isn’t too big, love the soft cream/off white color of the cabinets and the beautiful countertops. Love the stone hood above the stove…love the placement of the microwave down low, but not too low…and love those pineapple lamps! But wait, it gets even better…
Look at all that fabulous storage and the hidden refrigerator! Oh, I want this kitchen so much! There’s even an arched window and arched doors…love!
I know this kitchen doesn’t look exactly like the one in the movie, The Holiday, but doesn’t it have same that warm, inviting presence. And those ceiling beams definitely make me think of the The Holiday cottage house.
If you loved that house as much as I did, you can take a tour of it here: Tour The Adorable Cottage In The Movie, The Holiday When I move one day to that little cottage I keep dreaming of, this is how I want the kitchen to look and feel! I’ll take one of these, please! 🙂
This table was built by Georgia Harvest Tables from reclaimed Georgia heart pine. I love a square table that seats two on each side because you get the same pros you get with a round table…everyone is facing each other and it makes for great conversation. A dining room needs to be the right shape and size for a table like this, but I do love it.
Soft soothing colors for the bath…
Here’s another bath in this home…such a sweet bath for a little girl…just lovely!
A beautiful porch to enjoy the lakeside views and those fall days that will soon be here. Love the old wood flag!
You’ll find additional photos of this sweet stone cottage where I found these, HERE. (Photos above were all taken by Christopher Oquendo.)
