In the BNOTP Library: Designers At Home

I’m nosy, I admit it. I love, love, love getting a peak inside the homes of well-known designers. It’s so fascinating to see how they really live. I wonder, have they used a lot of color in their home or is it decorated in all neutrals? Do they have pets? Is their home pristine and perfect or does it look lived-in? I want to know, do they decorate their own home the way they do the homes of their clients…the ones we see in magazines? Or, does their home look very different?

Designers At Home

3 Things I Like About This Book:

  • The author takes us inside the homes of 50 designers including Charlotte Moss, Vincente Wolf, Bunny Williams, Rose Tarlow, Tobi Farley, Suzanne Rheinstein, Mary McDonald, Kathryn Ireland, Nathan Turner, Eric Hughes, India Hicks, Barry Dixon, Martyn Lawrence Bullard and bunches more including some design bloggers you might know like Scot Meacham Wood, Brooke & Steve Giannetti and Brian Patrick Flynn.
  • The homes featured in the book range from country homes to estates to apartments.
  • Each designer shares his or her ideas on design and the book is filled with tips and advice from each designer.

I really like the size of the book because though it’s thick, it’s a comfortable size to hold and curl up with in a chair to read. Martha Stewart wrote the Foreword for this book.

  1. OH MY WORD, I am going to be broke if you come up with one more great book! LOL. This looks like a fun read.

For me, lots of times I am disappointed when I see designers’ homes. Often they are way out there for my taste. However, I saw a couple here in the Amazon preview that looked very nice, colorful and fun!

This is a fun book! It is so interesting to see how designers decorate their own homes. Sometimes it is surprising. There is no right or wrong way. You just have to love it yourself.

  3. Thank you so much for the kind review! My aunt send me a link to your site last night. Wishing you all the best!
