In The BNOTP Library: Entertaining In Style

With so many opportunities for entertaining ahead of us as we enter into the season of Halloween parties, Thanksgiving dinners, Christmas parties followed by New Years Eve parties, I’m sharing a book with some great ideas for hosting parties and entertaining. It’s also by one of my fave authors, Mary Carol Garrity, the owner of Nell Hill’s.

Nell Hill's Entertaining In Style by Mary Carol Garrity

3 Things I Like About This Book:

  • Book is divided into four sections based on the seasons: Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. Each section highlights several types of parties typically held during that time of year…like a Brunch or Mardi Gras party in spring, picnics and backyard parties in summer, Halloween, Thanksgiving, etc… for autumn and Christmas, New Year’s, Valentine’s Day for winter.
  • Lots of beautiful pictures to glean ideas for setting beautiful tables and creating pretty centerpieces.
  • So many wonderful ideas for displaying food, serving utensils, drinks, desserts and just about anything you would need during a party. Books includes several recipes, as well.

  1. This sounds like a must have in just about every home. Great book to highlight, thanks.

  2. Susan, I like all of Mary Carol’s books, and all are in my library. I ordered Ryan Gainey ‘s The Well Placed Weed and it arrived today. Eager to sit down and read it. Thanks for the recommendation!

    • Hope you like it, Sarah! He also wrote one called “The Well-Set Table” that I will feature, eventually. I really love it, too. His style is just so different and so whimsical. I think I have all of Mary Carol’s books, too. I love her style so I can never resist buying her books. 🙂

Susan, I am amazed. You have featured close to 80 books now and I can’t help wondering how many more there are to come! Maybe when you run out of decor and gardening books (if you ever will) you’ll share some other topic. I’ve ‘met’ so many designers because of you.
