Happy Spring!  Hope you are having a wonderful weekend!

I know you are all wondering how the blog move is going.  Well, it could be better.  Imagine I came to your home and removed everything you own from every cabinet, every closet and every drawer.  Every. Single. Thing.  Even down to the toothpicks in the kitchen cupboard and the aspirin in the medicine cabinet.

Now imagine I threw it all out side on your lawn…all 40 eleven billion things.  Now you have to put it all back where it goes except there’s one catch.  You’re not putting it back in your house, instead it has to go in the house across the street that you’ve never been in before and know nothing about.

Okay, that’s probably a bit of an exaggeration but that’s how I feel.  Word Press is seeing all the “labels” on my posts in Blogger as categories, so I now have 200+ categories on the new blog and about 185 of them are not really categories I want across the top of the new blog.  It’s mind boggling and honestly, I’m still trying to figure out where I should begin to try and fix it all.  I’ll spare you the details of what I’ve tried and isn’t working.

I know I will love WordPress.  One day.  Just not today.

Since it will take a few weeks/months to get my house blog in order again with posts underneath category headers where you can actually locate them, I’ll continue blogging right here at good old Blogger for a while longer.  I hope it will only be for a few days or maybe one more week.   Hopefully I can copy and paste these last posts over to the new blog when the time comes to move those.

Party Time!
Now let’s talk about something fun.  :)  Chip and Nancy are flying home today from the resort they’ve been staying in all week for their honeymoon.  Today is Chip’s birthday and Nancy’s is only six days from now, so you know what that means…party time!

Shhhh, don’t tell them, but I found two cakes today in Whole Foods that are just perfect for their birthdays.  I thought about baking one but with all the stress of the blog move I decided to head over to Whole Foods and see what they had in their bakery.  Check these out!

I think I’ll let this one will be for Nancy…

Don’t you love the side! I think they used turbinado sugar for the sand.

And this one will be for Chip.  Chip twisted his ankle badly while running for a shuttle a few days ago.  It was so swollen he ended up having to go to the ER to have it x-rayed.  Fortunately, it isn’t broken, just badly bruised.  Last I heard the swelling had gone down a lot and he was doing better. So the little guy with the slight frowny face will represent that mishap while the guy on the left end is the new improved Chip with the wrapped up ankle. Yes, I know I’m sick.  I’m blaming it on my current crazy state of mind, caused by BMSD: Blog Move Stress Disorder. ;)

Here’s the side of Chip’s cake.  Aren’t these the cutest cakes!  They are only $12.99 each and are pretty big.  One cake would easily make 8 huge or 10 normal servings…just right for a small gathering of friends or family.

I snapped a couple of pics with my cell phone while in the store so you could see some of the other cakes.

Okay, I’m off to wander aimlessly in WordPress land, wringing my hands once again.  Pray for me.

Pssst:  If you didn’t have a chance to read the “Wedding Tales” comments on the last post…go NOW!  Oh my gosh!  There are about 10 amazing books in those comments.  The stuff that can happen at weddings!  Wow!  Read the comments HERE.

The cakes are making me hungry. I have changed blog formats four times. I think if anything happens again, I will just hang it up. Happy Birthday to the young ones!

  10. Kathleen says:

    Nightmare on Blog Street!
Cute cakes! Oh no, on the ankle!
    Blog on!

  11. Carla Aston says:

I feel your pain. Just about to launch my new one on Squarespace. It’s taken so long and I’m not even moving my old blog. I just decided to leave it. I like having a fresh start.

  12. Madonna says:

Let me offer my empathy for your move issues. I can relate to that photo of all the wires. I could apply that to much of what is going on in my life. I am so glad to see you are maintaining a sense of humor. You probably don’t need advice from the peanut section, but I have learned a lot from youtube. Looks like there are a lot of people out there making the move like you.

  13. hose cakes are so cute Susan. Hope Chip is feeling better now, happy birthday to the happy couple.
I don’t envy your WordPress challenge Susan, I do not even blog!! As they say in England…”Keep Calm and Carry On” !! :)

  14. Susan-Southern Fascinations says:

So Chip & Nancy will have really great honeymoon memories! Sorry the blog move is troubling. The best stress relievers are on the way … your beautiful children! The cakes are fabulous! Too bad there’s no Whole Foods south of Macon! ENJOY!

  15. Nicole Gibson-Rice says:

Hang in there — Word Press Rocks!! I’m a little spoiled because my hubby is a computer guy so he helps me a lot. Good luck!
    xoxo
    Nicole

  16. Let’s just “Eat Cake!” franki

  17. Sorry to hear that your move isn’t going as expected and to learn of Chip’s mishap with his ankle. A bad sprain or fracture can sometimes be worse than a break!
Those cakes are the sweetest things. When it comes to decorating cakes I am totally, mentally and creatively challenged. Thank heavens I have a very good friend who does the most amazing ones. Hope you enjoyed the birthday celebrations and wishing Chip a speedy recovery. -Brenda-

  18. Lisa Farmer Designs says:

Hi, Just became one of your newest followers on the recommendation of Cathy Erickson of the Stylish House. I am an interior designer with a new blog and alot of questions! lol Would like to get involved in a blog carnival and Cathy said this is the place to be!! I enjoyed your posts very much, love the cakes!! I am looking forward to getting acquainted.

  19. Love those cakes; I just saw some at Whole Foods yesterday. What impressed me is that the colors are all made with real food, not artificial dyes. Did you notice how the colors are all a bit muted rather that screaming bright?

  20. Santamaker says:

Hey Susan, so great to bump in to you today! Long time no see! Fun to catch up. Good luck with your move. Hugs, Rose

  21. Laurel Stephens says:

I hope your blog move agony is over soon. If you’re like me, you get kind of dizzy when you think about the work behind changing all those categories. Ugh!! On the bright side, thank you for sharing those adorable cakes with us. Shopping of all kinds is dismal in Boise, and we don’t even have a decent bakery. But we are soon to have our very own Whole Foods Market, and I can’t believe I will be able to get a cake like that so inexpensively. Yipee! Enjoy the newlyweds arrival, and hang in there! We all appreciate the hard work you do in order to provide us with wonderful inspiration.

  22. Merri Jo says:

The cakes are truly adorable–nothing like that at Whole Foods up here in the north. I’m so sorry to hear that your server move is so trying, but it’s nice that you have maintained a sense of humor and that you’ll be able to celebrate once again with the newlyweds! Have fun!

  23. Lizabeth @ Infuse with Liz says:

I have the same warped humor! Glad Chip is okay though. That’s too bad that happened! Love the cakes and I’m sure they will love them both!
Sorry for the not so smooth transition to Word Press. I don’t envy the mental labor going into it!

  24. Abrmyan Avenue says:

oh my goodnes… those cake are so pretty! I’ve never even thought about Whole Foods for cakes. They look declicious and sre so darn cute. We are getting a Whole Foods just down the street from my house. I’m going to have to check it out.
Sorry the move is so stressful. Hopefully everthinng will work out smoothly for you. I created a wordpress accoutn but never switched over because it just looked so daunting!!
Take a breath and relax and enjous what’s left of the weekend…
    -april

  25. Cindy (Applestone Cottage) says:

    Good luck Susan!
I am just wondering, if it is such a pain to move, why do so many do it?
Just wondering, because I have seen so many others have such issues.
    Love the cakes!
    Cindy

  26. Zuni, Chickadee Home Nest says:

Only a brave woman like you, Susan, would take this switch on at the same time as her son’s wedding (OK, maybe you didn’t know what all would/could happen with it), but we all know you ARE courageous :) — and in the heels of it all, a birthday celebration! Best wishes again to Chip and Nancy, happy bday to both of them, and best wishes to you with WP! ~Zuni

  27. Happy Birthdays to Chip and Nancy. Hope the ankle is doing much better. I cannot imagine what you are feeling right now with this big change. I cannot even figure out how to change my blog, so that I will have a side bar. I am scared I will delete everything! We will definitely be praying for you!!

  28. Michele @ The Nest at Finch Rest says:

Sorry about the move – but once you get it (and you certainly shall) all will be just peachaliscious.

As for those cakes, those aren’t cakes those are OBJETS d’ ART!!!!

Sorry about Chip, never EVER fun to have to go into a foreign ER anyway or hurt while on ones honeymoon, dang!

    *Empathy hugs*

  29. Susan (My Place to Yours) says:

Hang in there with the move! In fact, go eat a piece of EACH of those cute cakes and forget about it for the rest of the day. I promise … it’ll be there when you get back to it!

  30. On Crooked Creek says:

    Susan,
Those cakes are adorable!!! So~o~o sorry to hear that Chip injured himself! Give yourself some time with the new blog. I’m technically challenged…so I’m staying put! Blogger has been good to me…even with our ups and downs…it’s fairly easy to achieve the effects and results I want. I’ll be praying for you, dear friend!
    Fondly,
    Pat

  34. Betsy@My Salvaged Treasures says:

What a nightmare. I had to laugh at that picture with all the hanging and mixed up wires, I’m sure that’s how you feel. Hopefully it will all be put back in the right house soon. Those cakes looks amazing; you couldn’t make them for that price either.

  35. Good luck!!

  36. Sorry you are having troubles with your blog move. That’s why I’m still hanging out on blogger!

  37. Poor Chip! Glad his ankle isn’t broken.

I’m glad you are having a party. It certainly sounds like you need one!
