Perfect Tables by William Yeoward

3 Things I Like About This Book:

  • Book showcases lots of pretty tables for inspiration, including those for holidays, casual and formal dinners. After sharing ideas for holidays and special occasions, there’s a section in the book where tables are featured based on a their particular color scheme. That’s helpful if you’re looking for ideas around a main color theme instead of those for a particular holiday or event.
  • Pictures are beautiful…lots of great closeups so we can see the details. A Bonus: We get lots of little peeks into William Yeoward’s own home(s), including his London apartment. Love that!
  • Mr. Yeoward saves the basics about planning an event, how to set a table, suggestions about flatware, floral centerpieces, etc… for the very end of the book in a chapter called, The Essentials.

  1. Peggy Thal says

Sounds like a fun book. Just ordered it. Thanks Susan.

  2. One of my best friends, is moving to Hilton Head into a lovely home on a waterway that has a pier with access to the ocean (or something that gets her to the atlantic). What would you suggest would be a good gift to start her on her way to a nice tablescape? I was thinking nice linens like something in blue and white. “We” don’t sell much of beachy things, however I live in Virginia Beach and I know I could find something.
    Thanks!

    • I always love anything in blue and white, especially for a home near the beach/water. I bet you could find some beautiful placemats. I just googled for that and I found some beautiful ones here: http://www.oceanstyles.com/tabletop-decor/placemats-napkins
I especially love the Coral Collection and the Hampton Collection on that page. Love the round placemats toward the bottom of that page, too. They look washable which is always nice. I remember one year I purchased quilted placemats for my mother-in-law and she loved those things. Talked about how great they were and how washable they were for years!
      These are cute, too: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00MXCGJ4E?psc=1
Okay, I better quit looking before I ending up buying something for me! 🙂

      • Dear Susan,
When I gift deck, patio type dishes, glasses, platters, etc., I like to find cute collections in laminate or plastic in fishy or beach motifs.
They are always bright and colorful and if you or a guest drops an item, they usually do not break. Nothing ruins a get together quicker than broken glass around bare feet or sandeled feet. College alma mater colors/motifs work well during football season.

  3. Susan, I have this book and would also recommend it. Yeoward crystal is exquisite and so are the photos in this book. Enjoy the weekend.

  4. Susan this sounds right up my alley! I ordered it today and should have it Monday. Can’t wait!

  5. Thank you William Yeoward; I look forward to new lovely table ideas. And thank you Susan, I appreciate your book suggestions.
And also, I’m very sorry to hear about your sister, Glenda. So sad, my heart goes out to you.
