One of most favorite authors is Barbara Milo Ohrbach, all her books are wonderful. Todays book from the BNOTP library is one that will appeal to anyone who loves gardening and crafting, or just enjoys the beauty and fragrance of flowers.
In the BNOTP Library: The Scented Room
Author: Barbara Milo Ohrbach
3 Things I Like About This Book:
- Barbara describes the purpose of this book as, “How to incorporate the fragrance as well as the visual beauty of dried flowers into our everyday lives.” It’s really that and so much more. This book will definitely appeal to the gardener or anyone who loves flowers and floral scents, but it will also intrigue the crafter.
- This book doesn’t have as many pictures as most of Barbara’s books but that’s because this is a book that more about making, creating and doing. It’s a “how-to” book filled with lots of great tutorials. The pictures that are included in the book are wonderful, as always!
- The titles of the chapters in The Scented Room, really give you a good idea what this book is about. They are: Scenting Your Rooms; Sachets & Scent Pillows; Pomanders; Floral Water & Lavender Bottles; Other Scents; Decorating Your Home-Wreaths; Bouquets; Flower Arrangements; Working With Flowers; Drying & Storing and A Working Garden. This book has a Source Guide at the very back. Though some of the shops mentioned may no longer be in business, some will be and would be fun to find and visit.
