Welcome to the 181st Tablescape Thursday!
It was another gorgeous day here…is this really February? Since the temps reached 67 degrees today, I headed for the porch for this Tablescape Thursday.
I spotted these eyelet napkins in another table setting linked to TT recently and I made a bee line for Pier 1 to buy a set. I can never resist eyelet fabric, no matter if it’s sheets or a pretty dress.
I love how the eyelet napkin repeats the feel of the pierced chargers. I think you’ll be seeing these napkins again over the summer months. You may remember the dragonfly napkin rings from this previous Summer Tablescape.
Dinner and salad plates are Copeland Spode, Tower. This is the oldest china I own…it dates back to the 1920’s.
Instead of bread on our bread plates, each plate holds a heart-shaped cookie. Who wants bread when we can eat cookies!
I can’t wait to see green leaves on the trees again…must be patient, must be patient. I’m trying.
These pictures were taken late in the day and the setting sun created fun shadows across the porch.

Susan, What a fabulous table. I love the richness of the silver mixed with the whimsical dragon fly napkin rings. As always thanks for hosting each week.. hugs ~lynne~
Beautiful !
Very pretty, Susan! Except for the cookies, this could be used anytime. I always have loved those chargers.
Amazing things are blooming by you! Winter will be our guest till April when we might see some daffodils.
Not complaining, it has been so much better than all the blizzards of last year.
By next week, Mardi Gras will be over, and then we March into St.Patrick's Day! 🙂
Easter is early, so we have to get going on that too, lol.
I love tablescapes only second to vintage tablecloths! Stunning table, especially love the eyelet napkins with the sweet dragonfly rings.
Your table is gorgeous as usual, Susan. I love the classic red and white color, very romantic. Isn't this weather unreal? It was 50 when I got back from FL last Friday and it froze the next day and now back in the 70's. Flowers are actually blooming, had a chance to go out in the back porch yesterday…Christine
Susan, glad you were still in the mood to set a Valentine's table. This one is full of charm! Love the eyelet napkins. Guess I'll be heading to Pier I later today. LOL
Warm here in TX too. Strange winter we are having.
Thanks for hosting each week and sharing your creative tablescapes. ~ Sarah
Susan… thanks for inspiring us each week with your beautiful table settings and providing a place for to share, inspire and be inspired too! xo HHL
Your valentine setting is just beautiful, love the plates!
XO
Kristin
So beautiful!!
i love the red. And the day is just gorgeous.
Susan, Beautiful pictures of a lovely table. Your Spode china on the pierced chargers with eyelet peering out of the cherry red napkins, enfolded in the oversized butterfly works so beautifully, elegantly and a little bit whimsically. Thanks for hosting. ~CJ
So charming! Thanks for hosting Susan.
Hugs,
Susan and Bentley
Thanks for having this party. I've joined in before, but not tried to leave so many comments as this time around. I am having ALL KINDS OF TOUBLE with blogs that request you type in something to show you're not a robot. I hope people realize it cuts down on the number of comments they'll be receiving.
Still am crazy about those chargers. They seem to go with everything – not just elegant tables, but casual settings as well.
Beautiful table Susan! Loving the napkins and the china is exquisite! I have a soft spot for red transferware… XO Cindy
Your Valentines tablescape is so pretty! I really, really love how the red just pops right out of the pictures. Your photos were certainly taken at the perfect time of day because the outside seems to blend in with the white of your porch and the red just leaps out! Fantastic!
I like the chargers. Pretty table setting.
It is amazing that we are able to think porch this time of year. I'm beginning to wonder if winter isn't yet to come. As always, your table is a delight as are the others who choose to join you. Such fun this day of the week always is.
Crazy that we are able to think porch this time of year. It makes me wonder if winter isn't yet to come and that's a scary thought. As always, your table is a delight as are those from others who choose to join you each week. Such fun on Thursdays.
Beautiful, elegant, gorgeous breathtaking — I am out of adjectives.
I too love eyelet. As a single girl, I had eyelet curtains, dust ruffles and pillows — a totally girly look just for me. They were threadbare when I let them go. I have had several dresses of eyelet, too over my life, and it was the same — threadbare when I finally let go. I don't know what it is about eyelet that makes me instantly fall in love, but there it is. I will definitely be on the lookout for some of these napkins.
Thanks for hosting!
I love red and white together, so Cupid's Day is always a favorite of mine! Love those eyelet napkins combined with the red ones. The addition of the silver is classic. Thanks for hosting the party. ~ Sue
Beautifully done…I love the red and white contrast plus the eyelet napkins and eyelet-looking plates are fabulous together. Love this..
Love it!
This is such a lovely table-scape!!! I love your red goblets and napkins, a happy color scheme
for Valentine as well as many other times.
((hugs)), Maki
Thank you for hosting. Your Valentines Table is beyond wonderful, such a great mix of colour and sparkle.
Your table is delighful. I just love the red and white. And I can't wait to see the green trees again also!
Schedule trip to Pier 1 tomorrow…check. Think to use Copeland Spode Pink Tower with clear red accents…check. Work on completing collection of red crystal wine goblets…check. Now let me think…anything else? Probably, but I'll do well to remember all of this. Great tablescape. We're enjoying unseasonably warm weather here, too…can't complain at all. Thanks for providing this wonderful venue for us each week. Cherry Kay
I love it all. The lace napkins are so pretty and dragonfly napkin rings just made it! As always I enjoy your blog. It is like having my very own magazine. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
Hi lovely lady.
Your Tablescape is Beautiful as you know just how to put it all together. I also have the napkins ring, I did not see the napkins with the lace. Maybe I can make them need to go to
Jo-anns.
Thanks so much for hosting your party for us. I hope you have a wonderful Day with your family.
XXOO Diane
I am so glad you posted this even after Valetines Day, it is so pretty. I love your eyelet napkins and the chargers. Thanks for sharing.
Such a beautiful tablescape! Love the new eyelet napkins and the dragonfly rings are so pretty! Thanks for sharing.
As soon as I spotted those napping, I was thinking, I love how they work so well with the charger and "where did you find them"? Thanks for telling us. There will probably be a run on Pier 1 today! Just beautiful. Dianne
Swoon!! Those red Lismore goblets are fabulous. I know your guests felt loved – hope you had a wonderful Valentine's Day.
Thanks, Kerry!
Thanks, Christine. Spring will be here soon. You'll be back in the pool before you know it.
Thanks, Sarah! One thing about the eyelet napkins, I trimmed mine up a bit after I got home. They had strings and such hanging from them. Plus, some of the eyelet still had a little fabric around it. They are still worth the trouble though. I wish I could remember whose table I saw them on last week.
Thanks, CJ! I love whimsy. lol
Love the table – I _LOVE_ Spode Pink Tower and you have made a beautiful table with it!
Thanks! ♥
I think I had eyelet curtains, too…you just jogged an old memory. I also had an eyelet dust ruffle back in the day. I would mind having another one of those.
Thanks, Sue!
Maria, I think we are in good company. 🙂
Cherry Kay…you are so cute! I think we'll get a lot of use out of these eyelet napkins. Wouldn't that be great for a Mother's Day table setting!
Awww, thanks Cindy! What a sweet thing to say! I feel the same way about all the tablescapes linked for TT each week.
Diane, that's an awesome idea!
Thanks, Jewel!
Dianne, you may be right. I definitely had to have some once I saw them. 🙂
Very elegant Susan! The light coming in the room really sets off your gorgeous glasses. What a lovely tablescape. Thanks for hosting!
Susan – your table makes me swoon! Those red Lismore goblets are fabulous!! I know that your guests felt loved every minute. Thanks for hosting.
Wow so nice and warm and brought. I saw similiar things on http://www.homeseasons.com but Im interested in more of a DIY project. Any walk through tips? Thanks!!! Oh by the way the cookie with the ribbon!! awesome.
Susan, I know this tablescape is a few years back, however I just came across it and have fallen in LOVE with this pattern!! Well, I desperately need your help. In looking for the dinner plates, salad plates and the bread and butter plates on ebay I have come to see that the dinner plates come in 2 sizes (10 1/4″ and 10 5/8″) that is splitting hairs, but the real jump is the Salad Plate. Well, I purchased a total of 8 salad plates from two different sellers…then I noticed they were different sizes. There is a “Salad plate that is 7 3/4”) and a “Luncheon Plate that measures 9 3/8″. So, I sent the second buyer a message explaining me overlooking the different sizes and he graciously cancelled my order. Then I was looking for the bread and butter plates again, two different sizes 5 3/8″, on one listing and 6 1/2″ on another. All I can do is measure my own china and come up with dimentions that do look proportional when they are sitting out. Can you please let me know what sizes your Dinner Plate, Salad or Luncheon Plate and Bread and Butter Plate is)?? Talk about details. Here is what I have so far Dinner plates on order measuring: 10 1’4″ and 10 5/8”. I am just hoping they measured wrong, but if not, I can’t think it would be that obvious. Then I do have Luncheon plates shipping (they measure 7 5/8″ because I thought 9 3/8″ would be too close to the rim of the dinner. I am utterly confused about the bread and butter!! I am thinking that I am just to confused to guess. What is your opinion about this? You are more experienced in antique plates that I am. I just see what you set up and then impuslively love it and start ordering. Honestly, your dimensions look perfectly proportioned that I just don’t want to order something that will throw off my whole look. With e-bay, you can’t just do a simple return, you are shipping back plates. I have not had a chance to keep up with your holiday posts, hopefully after I get these dished decided with your help I can enjoy what you have done and are up to now. I am sure it is something fabulous!! Thank you Susan!!!
Hi Christina,
I just measured and the dinner plate is 10-5/8, salad is 7-7/8, bread plate is 5-1/2 and a little teeny bowl (maybe for applesauce or something) is 5-5/8. I purchased the 12 place settings I have (along with some serving pieces) all from one ebay seller, so I guess they were all part of a set. I got that impression when I purchased them and that was many years ago.
I’m not sure if my dinner plates are luncheon size or not, they look pretty good size, though. Be patient and you’ll find it on eBay. It used to pop up a lot. There’s a blue version, too and it just as stunning!
