Welcome to the 85th Metamorphosis Monday!
Colette Gauthier was given a 5-15% chance of survival by her doctor. She had moved into a dismal rental house and was out of hope. Kelee from The Katillac Shack went to Michigan and with the help of Guideposts Magazine where she is their Inspired Home Expert, she created a beautiful makeover to change Colette’s “sick” room to a healing space.
The goal was to create an uplifting and beautiful space to help Colette during her recovery from cancer, as well as lift her spirits through the course of her chemotherapy treatments. A miracle resulted for the room and Colette Gauthier. Seeing is believing in this wonderful video below. (If you can see four tiny white arrows beside the Vimeo name, click on those to enlarge the screen. When finished watching, hit escape.)
You may read more about Colette at The Katillac Shack and the story is featured in the September issue of Guideposts.

Here’s how you can help!
For every comment you leave on this post and at The Katillac Shack, $1 will be donated for the next needy makeover recipient.
Metamorphosis Monday:
If you are participating in Metamorphosis Monday: Please be sure to add your permalink below, and not your general blog address. To get your permalink, click on your post name, then just copy and paste the address that shows up in the address bar at the top, into the “url” box for the picture linky. You’ll also need to put your e-mail address in, but don’t worry, it will not be visible to anyone.
I’d love it if you would include the MM button in your post, to make it easy for others to find you MM post. To do that, just copy and paste the Met Monday button to your computer or grab the html code from underneath the MM logo on my sidebar.
Please include a link in your MM post back to the host blog, Between Naps on the Porch. Why is this important? When you include a link back to BNOTP, it ensures your regular readers/visitors will find the other awesome “Before and Afters” linked for this Metamorphosis Monday. If everyone links back, this maximizes the opportunity for visits for all participants.
Please do not add your link below, until your MM post is actually published to your blog. Please DO NOT type in all caps…it spreads the links waaaay out. Thanks!
Let’s try something fun today! Please visit the person who linked before you and after you…that way everyone will get some visits. Hope you’ll visit more, of course.

I loved the reveal moment and the joy on her face. What a great thing to do, Guideposts!
WOW! What a beautiful makeover! I had tears running down my face while watching the video. That doesn't happen often.
Susan, I saw this yesterday and was speechless. There are so many talented decorators, designers and crafters that blog and the thought that they could come together to help someone in such difficult circumstances was so moving to me. It was so exciting to see that Penny made a contribution of her work.
Thank you for posting this event.

This is so inspiring. Thank you for allowing us to become a part of her journey.
Susan-Wow! Thanks so much for sharing this! I got the "God bumps" too! Kelee is talented but she offered much more than design expertise. She delivered hope. This makes my little napkin rings seem so insignificant and unimportant
I'd like to add my thanks to all the others. What an amazing Miracle program. Thank you for sharing this wonderful healing story.
Beautiful story of encouragement and hope. A big thank you to Guideposts, Beverly, Susan and all who are spreading this fabulous story of inspiration.

What a beautiful, touching story! I love Guideposts and remember the article from Kelee, in fact it is one of the issues that I kept! Colette will be in my prayers! Miracles do happen! My sister-in-law has made a full recovery from breast cancer. God is certainly in control! Thank you for this lovely post of unconditional giving from the heart!
Hi Susan! Had to drop in and leave my comment after reading Colette's story. Wow, I love blogging and having the ability to reach out and touch the lives of others.
Inspired me so much I blogged about it today! I did have one problem though, for some reason I'm not able to leave a comment on Typepad blogs. I did stop by the others though!
Thanks for participating and sharing such a wonderful story.
Susan what an amazing story. Thank you for sharing it with us.
What a wonderful story!!
My nephew had a terminal disease. Most children with that disease pass away before their 4th birthday. Instead of putting him in hospice we kept him home. Got a big house and we all lived together to help take care of him. He was surrounded by his loving family everyday. His room was always brightly decorated. He passed away last October, just 7 days after he turn 10 years old. We miss him dearly but are blessed and thankful for the extra years God gave us.
Please count my comment for the donation!
A great story!
Thanks for sharing and al you do for the blogging world!

lovely story, lovely room, lovely idea — making a healing cottage out of a "sick room," an image to remember. And reminding Colette of the significance of color. I hope she is doing well!
Don't you just love Collette's smile? Blessings to all involved. Get well Collette!
Here's my comment to contribute to the makeover – good luck and may the recipient be good as new before she knows it. God bless her.
Best,
Gloria
I came over from my friend Rhonda at Shellbelles Tiki Hut blog when I heard about this. Colette's miracle makeover is wonderful. It was so inspiring to watch the video.

Oh, my goodness! The tears are rolling down my face. What a good deed! What a precious mercy for this woman. I will be praying for her, now. How could I not?

What a wonderful job! This lady was so deserving and this will make such a difference in her recovery.
Such a beautiful purpose to make something over. Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful story and room.
Love it when you help a survivor. That is great, and guidepost is such a nice little reader.
Keep up the generous and kindhearted actions.
Love seeing hope shared with survivors. Chemo can be tough, but notice all the angels that are placed on the path. They are more than just a silver lining.
Keep up the kind work.
