2 Beautiful Tables, A Snowy Christmas Mantel & A Lovely Hand-crafted Church

Welcome to the 690th Tablescape Thursday!

Jackie shared her beautiful Thanksgiving table just after Thanksgiving. It was so pretty, I couldn’t wait another whole year to share it with you!

Being a Thanksgiving table, Jackie went with a color scheme in beautiful autumn browns, reds, creams, and deep greens for this tablescape.

Of course, being Thanksgiving, there had to be a sassy turkey strutting his stuff down the center of the table!

The colors in Jackie’s turkey go beautifully with the other colors in her table setting.

Tall pillar candles at either end complete the centerpiece.

Jackie didn’t mention the name of her dinnerware but I think it’s Johnson Brothers Friendly Village. I’m super tempted to order a set. I found it greatly reduced here: Johnson Brothers Friendly Village.

Here’s a better view of the pattern from a previous table setting.

I like how Jackie used gold flatware in this Autumn table. Looks beautiful with the gold chargers!

Jackie also decorated her beautiful sideboard for Thanksgiving.

Thanks so much to Jackie for sharing this wonderful autumn table setting!

Sheri has her table set and ready for Christmas and it has me dreaming of a snowy, white Christmas. The metallic mesh runner over the white lace tablecloth is so elegant!

Sheri didn’t mention the name of her china pattern but she did say that she has had it for 53 years. (Update: The pattern is Lovelace by Crown Victoria.) What a wonderful keepsake and treasured set to have! Sheri said, “I used my silver water goblets that we bought in Kentucky at Dillards, which are sitting on silver coasters I found at Tuesday Morning years ago. The clear water goblets are also from Kentucky. I used silver chargers from Hobby Lobby and my china I have had for all our married life (53 years).”

Sheri used a beautiful silver bowl in her centerpiece saying, “My centerpiece is a silver Reverware bowl I got at a huge bargain for 25 cents at a garage sale. It took lots of silver polish and it is sitting on a silver charger with crystals from Michaels surrounding it.

Sheri kept with her winter theme when decorating her fireplace mantel and it turned out beautifully!  Sheri said, “My husband made the church in his woodshop and I used my Cricut to decorate it. I had seen a similar one at Cracker Barrel for $50 but thought we could make it for less and it would be more fun.” I shared another table a while back where Sheri and her husband had collaborated on the centerpiece. I am just amazed by all the beautiful pieces they make together! Love that!

If you are participating in Tablescape Thursday, please be sure to add your permalink below, and not your general blog address. To get your permalink, click on your post name, then copy and paste the address showing in the address bar, into the “url” box when you link up. You’ll need to include a link in your post back to the party to link up and participate.

That’s so visitors to your blog will be able to find the party and the other Tablescape Thursday participants. Requiring a link back also prevents businesses and scammers from linking up to sell their products. (Yep, that really happens, unfortunately.) If you see a post that’s not table-setting related, let me know and I’ll remove it.

Please, don’t add your post name/blog name ALL IN CAPS…it tends to create big spaces between the rows of links. Please link up table setting or table setting related posts only for Tablescape Thursday.

  1. Susan, thank you for sharing my decorations. I love making pretty things! Have a blessed new year.

    Happy Holidays

  3. I was so very lucky to find a set of, Johnson’s Friendly Village, in a thrift store for $20.

  4. Thanks to Jackie, Sheri, and you for sharing these lovely tables! I get so many ideas from everyone’s creativity! 🙂

  5. Both so elegant! Thanks, ladies for sharing.

  6. Sheri’s pattern is Lovelace by Crown Victoria (Japan). I thrifted 12 dinner plates to use as chargers for my smaller 1957 Rosenthal dinner plates.

  7. Susan, If you are looking for a set of Johnson Brothers “Friendly Village” dishes, you might want to consider the ones which have the back stamp “Made in England”. The newer sets are made in China, and will have a back stamp of “England 1883” – the quality of those are not nearly as good as those made in England.

Thank you for sharing beautiful tablescapes with us! It’s nice to know that I’m not alone when it comes to my love of dishes!

  8. Elinda Turner says

  9. Cyndi Raines says

Both tables are lovely! Love that Tom Turkey. I have a Tom Turkey which is a gravey boat, he is a medium size, but like this bigger guy! Hehe. Thanks ladies for sharing and Susan for posting!
