3 Autumn Table Settings & 1 Broken Computer

Welcome to the 729th Tablescape Thursday!

My goodness, it’s been a week and a half around here. My computer decided it no longer wanted to connect to the internet except at very low speeds or sometimes not-at-all. At first, it appeared to be an internet issue but after a visit from a Comcast technician, followed by a second visit from a Comcast Supervisor (not at my request but by the 1st tech) they decided the issue was in my computer.

So I’m typing this on my teensy-weensy, travel laptop this morning. I really hope to get the call that my computer is fixed and ready for pickup today, or at least by tomorrow because I feel like I have one hand tied behind my back working from this small laptop.

While I await the return of my “real” computer, for this week’s Tablescape Thursday, I’m sharing 3 very different autumn-themed table settings. I hope these provide a bit of inspiration for your upcoming fall tables. It’s definitely starting to feel very fallish around here–haven’t turned the heat on yet, but I was tempted one or two nights this week. Happy Almost Autumn!

Susan, did you decide how to attach the feet to your new trunk? I have purchased the same trunk for the same purpose – a side table. Just loved the look. Haven’t decided on the top yet but have ordered the feet. Will send picture when completed. Arrives next week. Thanks a bunch. Good luck with the computer…

    • Not yet, but I will work on that real soon. I’ll let you know what I end up doing. I think I do prefer it with the feet, as opposed to without. I was trying to make up my mind about that.

  2. All three tables are beautiful, Susan! So sorry to hear about your computer though – that’s one of the most frustrating things! Sending healthy electronic energy your way. Happy Thursday, and thanks as always for hosting. I already see lots of fun things I have to read. 🙂

  3. The orange and blue willow setting is inspiring! You are so clever, susan, such a great eye you have.
Hoping your computer arrives -alive – soon.

  4. Honestly, nothing broken makes me apanic worse. I hope you get ot repaired stat! My table is Game on, but your case would be Game Over!

  5. Impressive Fall posts from 2012, 2014 and 2017. Your work and photography are all timeless and current today. Love them all but the Willow china one spoke to me as particularly gorgeous.

  6. What a great tablescape. Thank you for sharing. Hope your computer gets fixed soon.
    HAPPY FALL and HAPPY HALOWEEN

  7. We had Comcast internet and TV problems for over a year (we had slow internet/dropped internet/inability to connect to internet) with over 6 Comcast technicians and a Supervisor looking into the problem – They kept telling us it was a computer problem (for all 3 of our computers) and I should contact the manufacturer – I spent hours researching computer internet problems to no avail – even contacted HP and paid for HP “customer-no-service” ——————- Turned out, it was a Comcast buried wire problem the whole time – the wire was replaced and internet was restored…

    • How frustrating, Margaret! It makes you want to pull your hair out! There’s no way all 3 of your computers could be having the issue at the same time and it be the computer! Initially, the people who built my computer kept insisting it was Comcast Cable, they even called me the next day and told me to come get the computer since they couldn’t find anything wrong. I told them I was going to be one super angry customer if I drove all the way there and back (2 hours roundtrip) and it was still not getting the correct speed that I’m paying for with Comcast. Comcast had insisted it was a computer issue.
Suddenly, while I’m on the phone with them, the guy I’m talking to told me that someone was coming to him saying they had found something. He hung up and called back a bit later, never admitting or saying they had been wrong, but told me that they added in another new ethernet card. The ethernet on my computer was somehow built into the main part of the computer…is that called the motherboard? So they had to add another super fast ethernet card and now it’s zipping along and working as it should. I would be so mad if I had driven 2 hours for nothing. So Comcast was right in this case, it was the computer.

      • So glad you are up and running again because I adore your blog (even though it has cost me money because you have highlighted stuff without which I discovered I couldn’t live LOL—- thank you!) – My computers didn’t all have trouble at the same time – usually one at a time, sometimes 2 – My problem had to do with bad/low signal strength due to the bad wire – all good now the wire has been replace.
