3 Fabulous Themed Table Settings & A Brilliant Napkin Ring Storage Idea

Welcome to the 501st Tablescape Thursday!

Between Naps On The Porch readers have some of the best ideas! Two lovely BNOTP readers came up with a clever idea for storing napkin rings: they both use pants hangers!

Cynthia shared two photos showing how she stores her napkin rings. She uses pants hangers, the type that open out on one end.

You can store a lot of napkin rings this way and it makes it very easy to see what you have available when setting a table. If you’re short on drawer space, this is a great storage solution since they will easily store away in a closet.

Candace uses this same method for storing her napkin rings. Such a great idea! Thanks so much to Candace and Cynthia for sharing this awesome napkin ring storage idea!

Occasionally Between Naps On The Porch readers share photos of table settings they’ve created. Desha loves creating special, themed tables for her family. Her hubby loves spending time at the beach so this was a table created with him in mind.

Desha said, “Father’s Day (hubby LOVES the beach) I did your starfish napkin rings!” The dinnerware is Spa Shells by Certified International.

You’ll find the tutorial for making the starfish napkin rings here: DIY Starfish Napkin Rings.

Desha created a table with a Renaissance/Knights-in-Shining-Armour theme for her hubby’s birthday.

Deshas said, “Hubby’s birthday – I live in a house of males, 3 sons, so knights were big around here.”

This was the table Desha put together for Halloween one year. Love the branch/tree centerpiece! Such a cost-effective way to add a lot of drama to a table setting.

Desha said, “Halloween: I LOVE this time of year, and skulls! Hubby painted the skulls wood pieces and I made them into napkin rings.”

The dinnerware Desha used for this Halloween table is Floral Skull by Ciroa.

Desha created this beautiful woodland table for their Thanksgiving last year. I love the dishware! Desha found it in Pier 1 and the pattern is Mazey the Squirrel.

Thanks so much to Cynthia, Candace and Desha for sharing all this fabulous tablescaping inspiration! Looking forward to all the beautiful tables linked for this week’s Tablescape Thursday!

You’ll need to include a link in your post back to the party to link up and participate. That’s so visitors to your blog will be able to find the party and the other Tablescape Thursday participants. Requiring a link back also prevents businesses and scammers from linking up to sell their products. (Yup, that really happens, unfortunately.)

  1. Susan, I’m a week late celebrating your 500th Tablescape Thursday, but looks like I’m first to post today. Sorry I missed last week, but just didn’t have the time to get a post organized. Congratulations on 500 Tablescape Thursdays. What an amazing record. My stats show I haven’t posted anywhere near 500 tables, but you and TT are the reason I began Hyacinths for the Soul, so there was no way I wasn’t going to celebrate you!
Great tip on the napkin rings. I need to do this and free up another drawer in the buffet for flatware. Thanks for sharing.
Fun to see Desha’s creative tables. Kudos to her for creating these special tables for the men in her life.

    • Thanks so much, Sarah! I’m so glad you created Hyacinths for the Soul, love seeing how you decorate your beautiful home and the lovely table you create! If it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t have found my plaid RL pillows…love your style!

  2. I love the napkin ring holder idea!!! Thanks for sharing it! Thanks Candace and Cynthia! Wonderful tables by Desha!! Thanks for hosting.

  3. Love the napkin ring idea! Thanks Susan!

  4. Thank you so much for the tip on last night’s Talbots Flash Sale!!! I hopped right on and purchased that pink and white gingham blouse I had my eye on! I truly think you love Talbots as much as I do!

    • Thanks, BJ! I really do! I hope they never change their style/direction because I love everything they bring out each season. I ended up purchasing the blue madras shirt during the Flash sale. 🙂

  5. Cynthia Garrtee says

What an honor to be a tiny part of BNOP!
    Thank you, Susan!

  6. Thanks to Cynthia and Candace for sharing that idea. It might lead to other uses. And how clever of Desha to create such masculine tablescapes. Two words not often seen together.

    • So true! I really love the Renaissance table! When my grandsons get a bit older, I could see creating a table for them like that. They would love it!

  7. I love cloth napkins and use them whenever I can. Love the napkin ring storage idea!

  8. What a pleasant surprise to have my tables featured on your wonderful blog! Proof of how you’ve inspired me 🙂
Like the napkin hanger idea, would never have thought of that. May have to get on that project soon.

  9. Love the napkin ring holder idea- I am going to do that! I enjoyed the tablescape you shared. Last week’s TT500 party was great!

  10. Betty VanWinkle says

Looks like the Thanksgiving dishes might by from Johnson Brothers. I have some similar to them.

  11. I love the idea of the pants hanger for the napkin rings ! Susan are you having features now?
    Fun tables.
Thank you as always for hosting.
    Fabby

    • Thanks, Fabby! I do that occasionally when readers email with their beautiful tables. So many BNOTP readers do not have blogs but they want to share their tables. So when I don’t have a specific table planned, or I’m traveling or away from home as I’ve been all this week, it gives me the perfect opportunity to share the beautiful tables they’ve sent in.

  12. I love Deesha’s tablescapes to delight her man! The clever eye candy renaissance tablescape piqued my interest. As a Game of Thrones fan, I think I’m going to look for those items for next year’s new season. A fun get together to celebrate. Knights, knives and all. Thanks for the inspiration.

    • Oh wow, you’re right, that would be great for a Game of Thrones fan. My son and dil enjoy that show so they would love a table like that.

  13. Rosie S says

Such cute table settings!!! Great job!

  14. I love the napkin ring storage. The tablescapes were nice except the Halloween one, I don’t like looking at a skull while having dinner!

  15. Kathleen says

Genius idea for napkin rings. They can’t slip off either! Love the masculine.. table settings …. all of them!

  16. Happy Thursday Susan and thanks for hosting. At one time I used pant hangers for my tablecloths. It didn’t work so well and maybe I needed sturdier hangers. Will definitely try it for my napkin rings.

  17. Nice! I love the napkin ring idea. and have an empty pants hanger just waiting to be used! Thanks for sharing.

  18. Great idea! I use pants hangers for my garden flags, but never thought about the napkin rings. Thanks for sharing!
    Linda

  19. The hanger / napkin ring holder is brilliant bc it’s simple and effective. Thx for sharing

  20. Cyndi Raines says

What a great idea! Thank you ladies, will give it a try for sure! I use trouser hangers to hang my red, white and blue patriotic porch buntings and they work great also.

  21. Bobbi Duncan says

Hi! Great tablescapes. Wish I had purchased the Mazey Woodland china last year….so cute! My friend shared the napkin ring storage on pants hangers with me many years ago. I took it a step further and slipped a clear plastic shirt storage bag over the hanger to keep the rings dust -free. I store all my garland in a similar fashion by using big clips to hang them from a hanger that fits over the bar inside a portable plastic covered clothes closet. For wreaths that are too big to fit in wreath containers, I hang them on L-brackets on a wall in the basement. They are first put in plastic trash bags and labeled so that I know what’s inside. I love to read how people organize things…so many great ideas that I wonder why I never thought of them. I haven’t been getting your posts. Hopefully, that will not be a problem with the new computer…as soon as I get things transferred over to it that is, which was supposed to be last weekend but we went away instead. Really have enjoyed seeing all the terrific 500th. tablescapes…so many creative people. What a great idea you had to host it! Hugs!

  22. Alycia Nichols says
