5 Creative Tables for Summer

Welcome to the 516th Tablescape Thursday!

I can’t believe it’s already August! Thankfully, it will still be warm here in the south for another month or two. My heart is still in summer, fall will get here soon enough!

For this week’s Tablescape Thursday, I’m sharing a few of the tables I’ve set this summer.

Tip: Please do not use a Hotmail e-mail address to subscribe. Hotmail is notorious for filtering out perfectly good emails. Google and you’ll find tons of people complaining about this. I regularly hear from subscribers who used a Hotmail address to subscribe and are not getting blog post updates, so please use another email to subscribe if possible. I’ve found Gmail to be awesome, it’s what I use and it’s free! Plus, they don’t filter out the e-mails you want in error like Hotmail does.

You’ll need to include a link in your post back to the party to link up and participate. That’s so visitors to your blog will be able to find the party and the other Tablescape Thursday participants. Requiring a link back also prevents businesses and scammers from linking up to sell their products. (Yup, that really happens, unfortunately.)

  1. Susan, every summer table is exquisite. Thank you for hosting each week. Stay cool on this hot Augistmday!

  2. Amazing how the same theme–summer–can give so many different feels. Also noticed how different the limelights were in the two versions; they were definitely further along in the season in the last photo.

  3. It’s fun to look back at some of your summer tablescapes. I adore that dining set your son and daughter in-law have. I’m in no hurry for fall either. With our long winters I can’t get enough of spring and summer! I love fall too but it gets me that much closer to winter so I’m in no hurry!

Each table setting is beautiful. It is difficult to choose a favorite! You certainly put lots of time and creativity into each one. Enjoy your summer days. I love the fall and all the pumpkin decor and flavors. Love pumpkin spice treats….cannot wait!

  5. Thank-you for admitting it is STILL SUMMER…lol. With our late Spring and very late planting season here in Chicagoland…honestly my tomatoes are finally ripening. Crazy—but I love prolonging summer as long as we can, because most of it has been spent indoors. Beautiful tables capes…I appreciate all your hard work…! Sandi

  6. You and fellow bloggers provide endless inspiration each week — thank you for that! As for the summer tables, I’m favoring the first — honestly it’s because of the umbrella you gave them!

  7. I agree, I am going to enjoy summer as long as possible. I have not been able to get the Summer Garden Table setting out of my mind since you posted it! Love them all!

  8. I, on the other hand, can’t wait for autumn and the glorious crisp weather.
And the colors of autumn, and the wonderful clothes of autumn, and the decor, the festivals and pumpkins…ahhh.

But I have enjoyed your summer tables!

All of your summer tables are beautiful, but my favorite is the “Shades of blue” as it does put one in mind of water and beaches. I like your chargers, but LOVE your sea shell chargers the best! Please do a table with them and the large hurricane lanterns, love those! My shell chargers and hurricane lanterns are on my table now with my lighthouse dishes. I so enjoy putting out a beach theme for August. Our lake water has been awesome this year with the hot, high humidity days. I’m not ready to say good-bye to summer either, having too much fun inthe sun and water. When Fall arrives, I will be happy to greet her, enjoying her beautiful color and decorating with fun pumpkins, but not just yet. “Summer breeze makes me feel fine…”.

  10. Beautiful! I can’t wait for Fall to arrive. It’s too hot to go out in the yard now. I have been trying to send you a msg, please check your inbox! Thanks Jan.

  11. Hey Susan, I left a message through Facebook. My computer is stalling and I have trouble sending emails.

I love your blog, very interesting and full of great ideas for tablescapes. You travel and have lots of fun. Enjoyed reading of your trip to Maui, and remembered my trip years ago. Glad to know Mama’s Fish house, the banyan tree and great shopping is still there. Enjoy your suggestion for purchases, etc the blue sandals… Your interest in antique’s… and just your upbeat attitude. Many thanks, Kathy Johnson
