9 Beautiful Themed Tables, A Dreamy Deck & A Big 4th of July Sale

Welcome to the 563rd Tablescape Thursday!

Happy Independence Day to all my American readers! I’m under the weather right now with a yucky cold and soon headed back to bed, but I am looking forward to the pork roast my son is smoking right now for tonight’s festivities.

Just before I left to visit family in Ohio, I received the email below from Ruth.

Hi from PA,
Last week was our annual Hospital Auxillary fundraiser luncheon. There was a fashion show, a wonderful lunch and oodles of donated gift baskets. It was Tablescape (Wednesday this time) x 17! Here were some of my favorites.

I’ve included Ruth’s comments below along with the photos she shared.

At first, I thought the next one was Travel with the blow-up world. It was Earth Day and each guest got a blow-up world, recycled tablet, a little world and a plant.

Along with the table setting photos, Ruth included a photo of her deck, taken on an “early May misty, morning.” Ruth wrote, “Awaiting another hot pink pillow from Pier 1 and still have to bring the white Cracker Barrel rocker up.”

Isn’t this just beautiful and what a gorgeous view! Ruth said they often see fox and deer from their deck.

Thanks so much to Ruth for sharing all these wonderful pictures for this week’s Tablescape Thursday!

4th of July Sale

This morning as I was completing this post, I noticed Talbot’s is having a huge 4th of July sale. Everything on the site is 50% off and shipping is only $5 with the code FIREWORKS at checkout! That’s as good as it gets, can’t think of a better sale than that!

You’ll find the sale here: 4th of July Sale, Everything 50% Off.

I am headed back to bed to try and fight off this yucky cold, but I did take time this morning to buy three more pairs of my favorite shorts. I love these scalloped shorts so much! They are so much more flattering on my legs than a straight-cut short so I couldn’t resist 50% off.

I’ve purchased these short so many times now, I probably have enough pairs to last 10 years. I’m always afraid they’ll discontinue them, so I’m glad I’ve stocked up. They have become my summer uniform paired with a brightly colored shirt. If I’m not wearing a casual linen dress, you’ll usually find me in these shorts.

The shorts are available here 50% off with the code FIREWORKS: Shorts.

Tip: I always buy these shorts in white because the contrast against my pale legs gives my legs a bit of healthy color, as if I have a slight tan. Also, I love that I can completely change up my outfit by just changing my shirt. I definitely recommend these for taking along on vacation since you can create a lot of different looks by just taking along plenty of colorful tops.

Okay, back to bed for me for a bit of extra rest. Stay cold-free out there, dear Friends–and Happy 4th of July!

Looking forward to the beautiful tables shared for this week’s Tablescape Thursday!

You’ll need to include a link in your post back to the party to link up and participate. That’s so visitors to your blog will be able to find the party and the other Tablescape Thursday participants. Requiring a link back also prevents businesses and scammers from linking up to sell their products. 1. I got the Talbots online sale and bought 6pts of girlfriend chinos! Who can resist the price break! But, totally forgot about the shorts. Oh well, next year.
Love you blog. Thank you so much.
    Peg

    • I know, you don’t see 50% off very often, I was surprised and happy I could pick up a few more shorts. Glad you were able to catch the sale, Peg!

  2. Oh Susan, what are you doing?!
You just CAN’T be sick on 4th of July!
Get well soon, do you hear me?! 🙂
We are going to have an American BBQ in the evening with friends and neighbors. (To be honest, we will also have Italian pizza! LOL) Btw, one of my neighbors has a new babysitter who didn’t know our neighborhood before. As she came on Monday and saw my all ‘Americana’ decoration in the garden, she asked my neighbor: “Oh, that’s cool! Do you have an American family living across the street?” My neighbor replied: “No, actually they’re Italian…”
    – “WHAT?” LOL
Get some rest, Susan! Hopefully, you’ll be fine to celebrate tonight!
Happy 4th of July to you and the USA! ♥

    • Ha! What a great story, Cecilia! I love that you love America so much! That definitely makes you an honorary American for sure! 🙂 Thanks for those well-wishes for the 4th! Pizza sounds pretty tasty, even on the 4th!

  3. Grace K White says

Feel better! I enjoyed all the tablescapes your friend furnished. Each year, the ladies at our church do a “Festival of Tables” So much fun and I love seeing what others d0. Love your blog.

  4. All those tablescapes were so different and so creative. I think my fave might be Earth Day. Well done Ruth.

  5. I’m with you on the favorite being that lemons and yellow roses table. I’ll tell you a little secret – those little lemon bites on that serving platter can be purchased in WalMart’s bakery and I’ll bet you can’t eat just one (they’re SO good). Guaranteed to make you feel better…..feed a cold. 😉

    • Really? Ohhh, lemon bites are a weakness of mine. I can’t even buy the powder sugar-covered lemon cookies because they haunt me until they are all gone.
This cold gets worse every day, will be so glad when I’m on the downhill side of it. So hard to sleep when you’re coughing your head off at night. Thanks, Rita!

  6. Hope you feel better soon!

    • Thanks, Maureen! I overdid it today, didn’t want to miss out on the festivities. Going to try and sleep more tomorrow so my body will fight off the cold.

  7. Thank you so much for hosting forusin this special 4th. of July weekend.
Enjoy and have fun this patriotic weekend dear Susa.
    Take care.
    Fabby

Did you drive or fly for your family visit?

  9. Love your links! But when I post mine now, my picture is always sideways. Even if it is correct in my files, when I download it, it pops up sideways. Any ideas how to fix that? Thank you!

    • Thanks, Joanna! Do you mean when you add your link to InLinkz? I sometimes have a problem with photos looking straight on my computer but then when I load them into my blog post, they are sideways. So now I upload them all into Photoshop Elements first just to check them and turn any that are sideways but aren’t appearing that way in Microsoft Picture Manager on my computer. I’m not sure why they show fine in Microsoft Picture Manager on my computer when they are apparently sideways. I can only see that they are sideways when they are in the Photoshop Program, then I turn them the right way and they upload fine into my blog post. If you have Photoshop Elements on your computer, try loading the photo into that program to test to see if it is sideways. I’m not sure of another way to tell. Maybe the photos that are sideways are the ones where we turned out camera vertically or a certain way when we took the photo.

      • Thanks Susan! I’ll have to try that! And yes, I was thinking that it might have something to do with turning my camera when I took the picture. I’ll check it out! 🙂

  10. sorry about the horrible cold just hope you didn’t get something from the dust/mold in the mulch. Some of that mulch smells pretty nasty. robin

  11. Cyndi Raines says

Hope you are feeling better Susan. Summer colds are horrible! Very pretty tables. Will have to look for those lemon bites next time I’m in Walmart. Love lemon!

  12. Chuck Winters says

Love all of Ruth’s pictures! The lemon table was quite funny and what a beautiful deck indeed!
