A Christmas Makeover in the Making

Welcome to the 567th Metamorphosis Monday!

Pssst: If you’re joining Met Monday today, please mention the Met Monday party and link back to it in your blog post so those who are participating today will have a chance to receive visits from your readers. Blog parties, including Met Monday, only work when everyone joining the party shares a link to the party in their post. Thanks so much to those who always link back each week!

I fell down the rabbit hole recently. I’m not sure exactly how I came across this adorable Christmas bedding, but once I saw it was on sale and got the okay from my daughter-in-law, I couldn’t resist plotting a little Christmas makeover for my two grandsons’ bedroom.

Christmas Bedding, Merry Santa

You may remember when Nancy and I put together their big-boy dinosaur bedroom back during the summer.

Decorate a Dinosaur Themed Bedroom
Where was all this adorable bedding when my son was growing up?! I don’t think Pottery Barn Kids existed back then. I’m making up for it now! lol

Pottery Barn Dinosaur Bedding

This was the bedding I saw that captured my heart.

I love all the applique/embroidery! You’ll find it available here, although some items are starting to show no longer available: Christmas Bedding.

Christmas Bedding, Merry Santa

A little closeup of the sheets, I love how funny Santa is in so many of the scenes!

So here’s what I’ll be taking to Ohio with me for Christmas. The red/green/white plaid duvets are being shipped to Ohio. After a lot of calling around, I finally managed to find those!

Christmas Bedding for Children

This is one of the standard shams; I’m picking up two Euro shams this morning. The nice thing is–since we just did their dinosaur makeover a few months ago, we already have the duvet/sham inserts, so we should be good to go for swapping everything out. Looking forward to sharing this mini-makeover with you once I’m in Ohio.

Remember the adorable little snowman marshmallows I mentioned in yesterday’s post?

I picked those up yesterday, along with some cute reindeer marshmallows. The reindeer are actually little stir sticks for hot chocolate. If you’re not a hot chocolate fan, I think these would be great with coffee, too!

These are soo cute floating in a cup of hot chocolate…and it’s not just the kiddos who love them! We are all kids at Christmastime, aren’t we? 🙂

You’ll find both of these here: Snowman and Reindeer Marshmallows for Hot Chocolate.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you!

Looking forward to all the wonderful Before and Afters linked for this week’s Met Monday!

  6. Hi Susan!

It does my heart good to see how wonderfully committed you are to your grand kids. My parents didn’t get the memo on how awesome it is to play a huge part in the grand kids’ lives. (Hard to believe, but true.) The boys Christmas room is off-the-charts. Your two will be telling their grand kids all about you one day. ♥♥♥

    Wendy in Suwanee

    • Aww, thanks Wendy! Children are the best part of life, I’m sorry your parents haven’t been more involved. They are missing out on a very special time. Hope that changes soon!

  7. You ARE going to have so much fun with this!! I’m starting on bunk beds (4) today…red&white candy stripes. Go forth and be MERRY!! franki

  8. Your grandsons are going to love those! Is it a surprise for them, or do they know about it? I bet they can hardly wait for you to get there! 🙂

Thanks so much for hosting and making sure it’s all working properly. I really love the party. Happy Monday!

    • Thanks, Barbara! I think we’ll make it a surprise. I was wondering if we should let them help us put on all the new bedding on, instead of surprising them because I don’t want them to think we’ve done away with their dinosaur bedding. But I think as long as we assure them it’s not gone and that this bedding is just for the holidays, I think it will be okay. I can’t wait to see it on their beds. I’m so impressed the quality of PB bedding! It’s not cheap but the quality is excellent!
Happy Monday and Happy Holidays to you!

  9. Those beds looked so comfy, cozy, & warm! Suspect your DiL will be testing them out as soon as they are prepared. This will be such a fun memory for the kids. Don’t you wish you could hear the stories they tell at school?

  10. Linda Page Gurganus says

I love the Christmas bedding for the boys! You did good! They will love it! You are an awesome grandmother!! Have a wonderful Christmas!

  11. I think you and your daughter in law just might have more fun than the boys! I see plush reindeer in their future, lol!
Thanks so much for hosting fun parties each week. I really look forward to them, to see what you and so many talented folks have to share.

  12. That bedding is beyond adorable Susan!! I know your grandsons are just going to LOVE it!! Thanks for hosting.

  13. Your grandsons will absolutely love the Christmas bedding! I bought sets from PBKids about 15 years ago when they used to have yearly holiday designs. They’re in college now and STILL want it on their beds when they come home for winter break. It’s definitely a tradition they will grow to love more and more.

    • I love that, Jeanne! I told my daughter in law what you said about how your children still want their holiday bedding on their beds when they come home from college. That is so awesome! There’s no place like home! ♥

  14. Great idea, grandma! Boys are going to love the make over and sleeping with Santa!

  15. Cyndi Raines says

What fun the boys will have snuggling down with Santa and visions of sugar plums dancing in their heads…. safe travels Susan, glad you will be with family for Christmas. Merry Christmas!

    • Thanks, Cyndi! It will be fun to see their reaction. Hopefully they won’t think their dinosaur bedding is gone for good since they love it so much. Merry Christmas to you! Hope you have a wonderful Christmas and a fabulous 2020!

  16. Thank you so much for hosting. I am excited to share my Christmas wreath, table and vignettes ideas. Happy Holidays!
