A Colorful Saint Patrick’s Day Table Setting, Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Welcome to the 755th Tablescape Thursday! Happy Saint Patrick’s Day–it’s almost here!

Saint Patrick's Day Table Setting

Usually, when I put together a Saint Patrick’s Day table setting, it’s almost always just in the colors green and white. Not sure why, but when I started thinking about a Saint Patrick’s Day table this morning, I was craving color, lots of bright springtime color!

Saint Patrick's Day Tablescape

This is definitely the most colorful Saint Patrick’s Day table I’ve ever created.

It’s just not a Saint Patrick’s Day table without this fun guy prominently displayed in the center of the table.

Leprechaun Decor for Saint Patrick's Day

I placed this sassy leprechaun on a pedestal to give him a bit of extra height.  He’s walking through a field of glittery shamrocks.

I think this may be my favorite St. Paddy’s table that I’ve ever put together. I don’t know why it’s taken me so long to mix these cute Mesa St. Patrick’s Day salad plates with more colorful pieces. The floral chargers are one of my favorite designs by Kim Parker Home.

Shamrock and 4-Leaf Plates with Floral Chargers, Shamrock Ramekins

Both the 4-leaf clover salad plates and shamrock ramekins were a find in HomeGoods many years ago. The floral chargers are from Marshall’s, again many years back. I think the cabbage leaf placemats were from Pier 1 back in the day. Wish they would open their physical stores again, I miss shopping there in person.

And here’s how this table looks without the ramekins. It looks really different with the clover plates so visible. Which way do you like it best?

The yellow dinner plate is from Noritake, part of their Wave collection.

I really love these adorable salad plates! I would love to locate the dinner plates someday, although I really do love how the salad plates look against a dinner plate that’s in a contrasting color.

Beaded rose-pink dragonfly napkin rings add a bit more color to this Saint Patrick’s Day table.

I paired these floral, spring, bunny glasses with these Kim Parker chargers in the past. They look like they were made for each other…a happy accident since I had the chargers for many years before I tripped over the glasses in Pier 1.

  1. Susan, if you are looking for something fun to do Friday night, attend the Michael O’Neal Singers Irish concert at Roswell UMC. The concert will also feature Irish dancers. The concert is at 8, tickets can be purchased on-line or at the door. I am on the board of MOS and can assure you it will be a very enjoyable evening.

  2. Wanda F Bradey says

Love the full display! I so enjoy seeing your creations. St. Patrick’s Day for us is celebrating our daughter-in-love’s birthday. I do hope you enjoy your weekend. Wanda

  3. Love your green and color tablescape Susan – Mr Leprechaun is darling, and those flower chargers are beautiful! I guess this must be the year for color – I did one that’s brighter than I’ve ever done in my whole life! Thanks as always for hosting, and hope you have a great Friday celebration – careful with that green beer out there!

    • We must all be really craving color. This crazy weather–we had warm weather for a month, now it’s cold again. Spring is teasing us!

  4. Susan, I have always enjoyed your St. Patrick’s Day tablescapes, but I also never thought about adding more color. I wonder why, lol? I love all the Spring touches of color that you added here. It doesn’t detract from the SPD theme at all, but just puts a smile on my face. It has a nice, ‘light’ feeling and I think we could all use a bit of lightness these days. Even the pretty dragonfly napkin rings add a nice touch. Very Spring-y and happy.

As an aside, I have been trying to find a Mr. Leprechaun for years but have never found one quite as jolly and nice. Sigh. I’ll keep looking. Happy St. Patrick’s Day, Susan.

    • They need to bring him back. I think I found him in Marshalls and I think they buy overstock and such, so it may have been a miracle that I came across him. I hope you find one, Pam…there must be another one out there somewhere.

  5. Spectacular and colorful St. Patty’s table! I love all the elements! Bravo!

  6. Jill from Southern NH says

Such a feel-good table! Incorporating rainbow colors for St. Patrick’s Day makes perfect sense, but it’s not something you normally see in the typical table setting. Great idea! Thanks for brightening up our day!

  7. Tina W Reynolds says

So cute! I also have the cabbage leaf place mats from Pier 1. I really do miss the stores, too! I would receive their little catalogs in the mail, which I enjoyed and then make the drive (nearest stores: 45 miles or 55 miles away!!!) to the store. Usually, I found something on sale. The sales were great and sometimes I had a discount coupon too so, super bargains were there to be had! We all love that. I regret that I never purchased one of the beaded table runners. So many stores are gone now.

  8. Oh, I love the spring florals with the shamrock plates. This is such a pretty table, and those are my favorite of all your chargers. Thank you for the inspiration – and Happy St Patrick’s Day!

  9. Susan, your table is absolutely precious and glorious. Everything about it is so festive for St. Paddy’s Day! I especially love the cabbage leaf placemats. Reminds me of living in Charlotte many years ago and a lovely neighbor always celebrated St. Patrick’s Day with her speciality of corned beef and cabbage and potatoes. It was delicious.
Thanks for brightening up my day with this lovely table scape! One of your prettiest.

  10. Susan, this is a wonderfully bright and happy table that works for St. Patrick’s day and likely into spring too (with some minor adjustments). I love those colored chargers and the glasses look like they were made for them. Everything is just lovely. I hope you have a great St. Patrick’s day!

  11. So imaginative to use the yellow plates under the shamrock ones, and then the floral charges under those. Your table is just layered with so much texture and colors…all signs of spring! I can not choose between with/without the ramekins; either way is a winner.

  12. Lin Celoni says

Susan, You have taught me a new trick – again!! How did I not know that Pier 1 was on line?!? I went by the old store just this morning and shed a little tear, wishing it would come back. This may not be perfect, but you have just make my week!

  13. Happy St. Patrick’s Day Susan! I love everything about your table setting! It is so fun and festive and each piece unique and it all goes together beautifully. I did not know Pier 1 was online, but then again I just learned that Sears is online as well. I live under a rock. LOL I will be staying home just doing my own thing as usual for St. Patty’s Day….which is probably Easter card making. Have a wonderful day! Hugs, Brenda

  14. Joy A Cooper says

I think I like it better with the ramekins. It is a beautiful tablescape. It seems maybe all of the organizing and hard work you have done with related table setting items has paid off in a big way!!!!! Looking forward to seeing more! Where oh where did you find those adorable cabbage place mats?

    • Thanks, Joy! The organizing does really help–find stuff I forgot I had. lol I’m pretty sure I found the cabbage placemats in Pier 1, it was quite a few years back.

  15. I love your lephracun in the center of the table. I’ve had my St Patrick’s decorations out since the day after Valentine’s Day. My husband’s parents both came from Ireland. We are spending St Patrick’s day with Irish friends. His birthday is March 17 and mine is March 18. His wife always makes wonderful corned beef and cabbage for us. I have friends coming to visit next week so my birthday celebration will continue. My motto is celebrate early and often. Life is too dull not to celebrate as much as you can! Next week the decorations will change to get ready for Easter. I’ve never seen you use your Nora Fleming decorations. Don’t you use them in your tablescapes.

    • Thanks, Lin! I don’t normally use them on a table because the serving pieces are so large, they would take up the whole center of the table. I’ll have to buy or bake a cake this spring and use them. I have two storage cases of the little minis. Have you seen the St. Patrick’s Day minis? They are so cute! I love the bunny one where he’s holding an armful (and mouthful) of carrots. Ha!

  16. What alovely and fun tablescape.
    Happy St.Patrick’s Day
