Welcome to the 229th Metamorphosis Monday!
When we last visited Marie’s beautiful Victorian home, it was decorated for Easter.
If you missed that post, you’ll find it here: Decorating for Easter
A few months before Easter, the porch was decorated with red garland and big red hearts for Valentine’s Day. It was still cold weather and the trees were all bare.
Spring is here, actually almost summer and Wow, what a difference! Everything is green and lush. Marie has transformed her home once again, this time it was for Memorial Day (already passed) and for the 4th of July.
Happy 4th of July!
The porch is perfect for decorating. I especially love how it looks all decked out with patriotic bunting.
At night you can see the lights, hard to see during the daytime in these pics. The little red, white and blue balls hanging down from the porch, also light up at night.
Love the bunting…it’s my favorite part!
A few close-ups…
Marie’s red door is the perfect color for a 4th of July wreath.
Such an inviting porch! Uncle Sam neeeds to have to move over because we want to sit in the rocker and enjoy this porch.
A large wreath hangs on the French doors leading from the dining room onto the front porch.
Inside, Marie has the most beautiful firescreen for patriotic holidays.
Isn’t it amazing?!
Thanks so much to Marie for opening her home and letting me share all her wonderful holiday decorating.
Looking forward to the Before and Afters posted for this Metamorphosis Monday!
Metamorphosis Monday:
If you are participating in Metamorphosis Monday you will need to link up the “permalink” to your MM post and not your general blog address. To get your permalink, click on your post name, then just copy and paste the address that shows up in the address bar at the top of your blog, into the “url” box for InLinkz.
In order to link up, you’ll need to include a link in your MM post back to the party so the other participants will have an opportunity to receive visits from your wonderful blog readers.
Please observe these few rules:
Only link up Before and After posts that are home, gardening, crafting, painting, sewing, cooking, DIY related.
Do not link up if you’re doing so to promote a website or product.
Do not link up a post that was just linked last week since a lot of readers will have already seen that post.
Do not type in ALL CAPS. It spreads the links waaaay out.
Let’s try something fun today! Please visit the person who linked before you and after you…that way everyone will get some visits.
Welcome! Thanks for coming to the party!
What a wonderful porch, Susan! Hope you are doing well. Sending you hugs…Debbie

I love all the red, white and blue buntings used on this house, so pretty. Thanks for hosting, Laura
Marie’s home is always beautiful, Susan. Thanks for sharing it. I especially love the way she used the bunting. I also LOVE her ornament wreath. I wonder where she found it? It’s very unique. Thanks again!
Donna, Marie found the wreath in a Touchstone catalog. I bet they have an online site, too.
Thank you, Susan. It is sold out online, and just as well-it is a whopping $215! I would love to make one.
Hi Susan. Thank you for sharing the great 4th of July porch and for hosting again this week. Hope you are a feeling a little better this week. Blessings to you, Patti@OldThingsNew
Thanks so much for hosting!

Why did I think Marie’s enthusiasm just pertained to Christmas? This sounds like so much fun. This house was made for entertaining. Good job Marie. Susan you have found a wonderful friend to play with.
Yes, I have. We always have fun when we get together. 🙂
Well I know that house very well…that’s our ex-governors house over on Whitlock Ave……I love to drive past it and see how they always decorate….Me and MArie share the same hairdresser….
Who wouldn’t love to have that porch! Gorgeous!
Hi Susan….what a neat porch..thanks for hosting again!!! Christine from Little BRags
Since the porch comes with the house, I will just take the whole house!!! I love to see bunting on houses. There are a couple in my neighborhood that have the patriotic bunting and it looks so nice. Thanks for sharing.
What a beautiful patriotic display! Thanks for hosting! Life to the full! Melissa
I always admire Marie’s decor especially the seasonal porch. The wreath on the french doors is adorable. I find myself viewing the post twice to ensure I haven’t missed anything. Thanks for sharing.
What a beautiful house and great porch. Decorated so beautifully for the 4th. Come and visit Cloches and Lavender. I would love your feedback and follow on our new journey!
Cynthia
I love Marie’s porch! Do you have photos of the interior of her home on your site?
Lori, I do. I did kind of a full tour back at Christmastime. So just click on “The Holiday Home” category at the top of BNOTP. Then click on “Christmas” and then click on “Home Tours.” You’ll see all the posts of the different rooms under there…they are numbered Part I-VI (1-6). Wait until you see her granddaughter’s bedroom, it’s one of my fave room, although I love them all! The library is another one of my faves…it even has a secret door!
Hi Susan and Marie’s porch is just gorgeous. Thank you for sharing it with us. I’m still holding you in my prayers and pray your broken heart is mending. One word of advice…I so understand and just want to say, don’t wait too long to get another pet. We had a little Boston who lived for 15 years, she was literally my third child. We had to put her down and I dreamed of her, would cry for her thought I would never want another pet. After about 5 years we got Chloe Dawn and Susan, my grief was released. Chloe didn’t take Sugar’s place as they are totally different but my heart got the chance to love again. Now we’ve had Chloe for 13 years and she’s my little darling fuzzy child too. Just saying all this because I know how it hurts. Love you, sweet friend.
Blessings,
Shelia 😉
You have an amazing house! Really sweet decorations on your porch! 😀
Thanks for hostessing the party! Mary
Their porch is amazing and that great brick design in the sidewalk is awesome.
I love how they decorate for each season and that you share with us.
Thank you for hosting, Susan.
OMG, Susan,
you know I love this kind of decorations!
I love this sooo very much… wish it was the 4th of July all year long! 😉
Susan, you’re absolutely right, that patriotic firescreen is just… UNBELIEVABLY BEAUTIFUL!
Marie has such a great taste! Do you have more pictures of her beautiful garden? I can see some interesting giant decoration items there, too…
~Hugs to you, my friend~
Cecilia
P,S. Susan, what happened to your cute bunting? 🙂
I still have it, just haven’t put it up again. It was really hard to hang by myself…dangerous on the ladder. I need to get my mounting thingy attached to the a column so I can at least fly the flag that I have.
LOL, Susan,
I meant the cute patriotic bunting garland you added to the white picket fence in your header… 🙂
Ohhhh, that bunting! 🙂 Yes, I need to “decorate” it soon, don’t I? 🙂
Susan,
It’s been 4EVER since I’ve visited. We have been in the middle of a huge move/remodel… but, I’ve missed my blogging friends. And I’ve missed the inspiration. I looked you up, added you back to my sidebar so I can keep up with you & hope you & all the girls will motivate me to decorate this house when we get unpacked!
Charlene, so glad you’re back! Just think of all the Before and After posts you can create with all that remodeling. 🙂
Hi Susan,
I love the patriotic porch on that beautiful house. I have been looking for ideas on what to do for Christmas as the old house is on tour this year and this beautiful home was pinned so many times on pinterest as well as your link party filled with amazing ideas. I was filledwith all kinds of inspiratrion! I can’t thank you enough for the party and I will be pinning away for hours thanks to you! What a beautiful home!
Love the porch. I would love to see her backyard/ pool in the summer.
Also any idea where the decorations on each side of the door was purchased?
Thanks
Hi Dianne,
Marie found those at Touchstone online. Here’s a link: http://www.touchstonecatalog.com/product/Stars_And_Stripes_Finial/Seasonal_6500
Oh, forgot to say, I almost took a picture of that area when I was there…but never got out there to do it. I’ll try to do that on another visit this summer sometime. It’s beautiful for sure.
Oh how I love this porch and the bunting is amazing! I so wish we had homes like that around here and people who decorated for the fourth with such style and patriotic flair! Thanks for sharing it and thanks for hosting the party! I don’t have a before and after this week, but I sure love to come by and see everyone elses!
Liz

That is wonderful! I love the red, white and blue with the white house. I need to get some decorating done – very soon. I’ll add that to my list ‘o things to do!
I always enjoy seeing this lovely home. That fireplace screen is AWESOME!
Thanks, Ginger
Hi, Susan!! Thanks so much for hosting your Met Monday Party!! So happy to be back linking up with you!
Love your 4th of July Decorations!! I hope you are enjoying a wonderful week!
Hugs and Blessings,
~Theresa
I love that big porch and those buntings are my favorite too! I’m really intrigued by that fireplace inside and how the brick work was done on it- and of course the firescreen is pretty awesome!
Whew! Makes me tired just looking at all her porch decorations……she must be like the Energizer rabbit! (I do hope she has help with those outside decorations.) When they built that house to replicate a Victorian, it was a requirment to include that wonderful wrap around porch! Who doesn’t love that? And I can’t even find a wreath that I like!!! Bad me. Vicki in KY
I love this house! Was it custom built…or do you know if there is a floor plan available? Gorgeous!!
Cindi, I just saw this comment. It was custom built for Marie and her husband.
Beautiful!!!
I have the same question as Cindi…is there a floor plan available?
Shelby, I just located an article online that says the home was built by Rhett Bonner of Bonner Custom Homes. You can see the article here: http://www.ajc.com/gallery/news/photos/pq2-barnes-0316/gr5J/#2216992
