Welcome to the 229th Tablescape Thursday!
With Valentine’s Day just a few weeks away, I’m excited to share a wonderfully, whimsical Valentine’s Day table setting created by my friend, Marie. This table setting has it all! There’s plenty of whimsy, but with touches of glitz and glamour, too!
For her centerpiece, Marie assembled a sparkly collection of red vases and filled them with lots of fluffy, red feathers.
I fell in love with the white heart-shaped dinner plates. They have a raised pattern/design. Marie found theme in HomeGoods several years ago. There are lots of cute heart-shaped plates on eBay right now…not that I’ve been looking or anything. 😉
Are these guys not hilarious? Mr. Froggy is holding a Valentine heart just for you! Love his snazzy bow tie.
Marie used beautiful red stemware…perfect for a Valentine’s Day table setting. Love the swirl design through the glasses. Notice how the gold on the stemware ties in with the gold flatware. Red beaded placemats add another element of glitz and glam to this whimsical tablescape.
You can see some of the embossed/raised design in the dinner plates in this view of the napkin ring. The napkin ring again ties in with the gold and red in the glasses and flatware. I would feel like the Queen of Hearts dining at this regal Valentine’s Day table.
Thanks so much, Marie for sharing this wonderful Valentine’s Day tablescape!
Do you remember the tree Marie decorated in this corner of the kitchen for the Christmas holiday? If you missed that post, you’ll find it here: Tour a Beautiful Victorian Home Decorated for Christmas. It’s all decked out for Valentine’s Day now and I’ll be sharing it and the other decorations in her kitchen real soon. You’re going to love how the tree ties in with the whimsical table we just viewed!
For more Valentine’s Day table settings, click on the category, The Holiday Home and Valentine’s Day at the top of BNOTP. Or, scroll down to the seasonal footer at the bottom where you’ll find links to both Valentine’s Day tablescapes and St. Patrick’s Day table settings.
Looking forward to all the tablescapes for this Tablescape Thursday!

Ohh be still my heart! Just beautiful!! Loved it all. I think I have seen the swirl glasses at Pier1 in times past. Loved them. She certainly has the knack for sparking someone’s imagination and creativity. But then, so do you. Thanks for posting. Thursday finally got here. 🙂
Oh what fun and stunning with the tree in the background! Thanks for sharing all her wonderful tables and trees!
Oh my gosh, Susan and Marie!
Everything looks beautiful (what else? 🙂 ) and I must say, after seeing that cute big frog on the porch yesterday and those sweet, sweet, sweet ones on the table today… I love frogs now, too!
Who would have ever thought? lol
Thank you Susan and Marie for sharing all those treasures with us! I can’t wait to see the rest! 🙂
P.S. A tour in Marie’s wonderful home has become like watching Downton Abbey to me! Both are highly addictive! (In a good way, of course! 🙂 ) I always want to see and to know everything and, please, as soon as possible! 🙂 )
~Hugs to both of you~

She must be a fun person to know! What a cute table she’s put together! I want to be a kid in her family- she knows how to make it fun! Love the heart shaped dishes and the pretty red stemware 🙂 the frogs are too cute!
I never thought about whimsey for a Valentine table! How cute and different! The frogs are hilarious, Marie finds the most unique things! Plus she manages to use beautiful and elegant tableware with the fun feathers and frogs. Love it!
Yes! I caught a peek of the tree in the background and can’t wait to see more. Those frogs are the cutest things, but of course, I have a thing for frogs. Leo’s nickname in high school was TOAD, but I never have gotten a clear explanation as to why!
Hi Susan, this is the most whimsical table I’ve ever seen. The frogs are just too funny. Unique, elegant and whimsical. Thanks for hosting each week. hugs ~lynne ~
Hi Susan, Those frogs are hilarious! They would certainly add so much fun to a table! The red swirl glasses are from Pier 1. I have them in the tumbler version and use them everyday. They really are quite beautiful glasses. Thanks for hosting! Linda
Linda, I thought that I had seen them there…love them!
Thanks for the party Susan! That is one fun table! love the little frogs. When I first saw them before reading your friend did the table, I figured it had to be you because it reminded me of your cute picture where you are sitting next to the stone frog striking a similar pose. Thanks for sharing a smile maker today!
Jessica, that’s too funny because they made me think of that picture, too. 🙂
What a fun table! Thanks for sharing it with us and thanks for the party.
Hugs,
Susan and Bentley
What a cute table she’s put together! Thanks for hosting! XO, Aimee
Oh Susan, what an elegant yet whimsical table setting! It is so delightful to see Marie’s handywork again! Her frogs are hilarious! Can’t wait to see the tree and other decor up close, her sideboard looks very interesting! And of course she has bears by the tree with hearts on them! She must have so much fun shopping!
Thanks so much for sharing!
Beautiful, whimsical table setting! Thanks for sharing and thank you for this fun party!
Marie is just too much fun! Have you ever seen a more smile provoking table? Love the froggies. The kitchen tree was my fav at Christmas so I’m excited to see what she has done with it for Valentines. I agree with Cecilia that these posts are becoming addictive. As a matter of fact, I have 3 friends who I shared the Christmas posts with and they have begged me to send more. I’ll be sharing season 2 of “Barnes Castle” with the girlfriends! Anxiously awaiting episode 3. Thanks Susan for sharing.
Thanks, Vikki! And thanks for sharing the posts with your friends…appreciate so much!
Marie must be so much fun. She seems to have so much fun decorating for holidays. This table is delightful. Those frogs are adorable, and I love her heart shaped plates. Marie knows how to celebrate. Thanks so much for sharing her wonderful table. laurie
Just Charming! Such a fun table and the frogs are such a fun whimsical touch! Found you through Style Sisters party!
Cheers
This post (and all from Marie’s house) show that fun items can be mixed with very serious formal pieces effectively. It’s an excellent tutorial for all fledgling tablescapers as well as being stunning. Thanks for sharing this crazy cute table!
Susan,
What a darling tablescape for Valentine’s Day!!!
My “Mr. Ed” loves frogs! Ha!

Gorgeous room, and lovely tablescape! I adore the frogs!!!
Susan, Marie’s table is full of delights. I love those white heart shaped plates with the exquisite border. Never seen any like them. Do you know who makes them? And the cute little frogs at each place setting are darling. Definitely a fun table for Valentines! ~ Sarah
So cute and adorable, yet as you said elegant too. I love what she did. I just want to know one thing. How does she find the time to do all of this?
How adorable! So unique to have a whimsical Valentine tablescape! One look brings laughter, but there are lots of elegant things there too! Lots of eye candy! So fun!

Those red heart shaped plates would be good for dessert or a small salad and would look great with the Gibson white dishes. My friends/neighbors in this court are widows and one single lady and I’m married..I always think of Valentine’s Day as for couples . If one wanted to invite widows or divorced ladies over, how would one keep the occcasion from being sad or sentimental for them? Maybe others have some ideas? I’ve never been to New Orleans but have seen all the drunken parties on tv, it’s a turn off. I love the jewel tone colors of Mardi Gras. I’ve seen the King Cakes in the grocery stores in Feb. It a King Cake any batter you chose and the Marti Gras decorations are on top? Or is the batter something special?
Didn’t Marie say she saw a lot of the heart shaped plates on E-Bay? Maybe Home Goods would have them about this time of the year..and you know if you see them one day, you had better buy them that day because they won’t be there when you go back in a few days. I’ve learned that lesson the hard way. Don’t dally!
Thanks to you and Marie for sharing this tablescape.
That is stunning!!! I love everything from the beautiful stemware to the heart plates and the oh so cute frogs. I particularly like her sparkly chargers.
I think you and Marie should team up as party planners, that would be a wonderful duo!! 🙂 Not that Marie doesn’t have enough to do!! 🙂
Thank you Marie for once again letting us peek into perfection and thank you Susan for taking us there.
Hi Susan,
This is definitely an elegant and whimsical table!! I especially love the red goblets; the white heart-shaped plates; and the funny, whimsical frogs! 😀 I know you must enjoy getting to see Marie’s home through the different seasons of the year.
Thank you for hosting every week, and thanks for being an inspiration to those of us who enjoy blogging!
Denise
This is a great table! The froggies, the gorgeous hutch, the “rooster chairs”, the feathers, everything is done very nicely! Such fun! =D
That is stunning and fun! Will it actually be used for a dinner or lunch? I noticed the frogs were in the decorated tree! I’m sure if I were at that lunch – I would only talk about the decor and be satisfied with a glass of wine, the frog company and chocolates!
How adorable. Love the froggies and heart shaped plates! With Mardi Gras getting ready to be in full swing here in New Olreans, Valentine’s Day definitely gets a bit lost in the mix this year. Love seeing it.

Hi Susan,
You did it again, this week. Your friend Marie, really did a great job. As everybody said: frog make the whole thing different. I love them too. I have 3pcs, so thanks for the tip. Can be use in centerpiece.
Thank you for hosting once again. Keep looking for a new 2013 TS inspirations.
Greetings from a frozen Stockholm,

Such a fun and whimsical table. Love the cute little frog. Elegance and whimsy…how fun
The feathers are a wonderful whimsical alternative to flowers for the centerpiece. I adore those frogs…superb Valentine decoration, which I find few and far between. Thanks for sharing a peak of this festive, darling table and for hosting us each week. Cherry Kay
Hi Susan: Thank you for hosting the party today–I finally have a post to share, so I’m excited! Love that tablescape–I’ve never seen heart-shaped plates such as those pictured–they are lovely. Have a great weekend!
Oh, I am so glad we are back to Marie’s! FUN table!!! Love all the bling especially. Can’t wait to see the tree too. I am curious, how did you 2 meet? XO, Pinky
Love the stems, gorgeous! Adorable table!
Thanks for hosting!
What a pretty setting… Love those frogs…
How fun! I wish a little frog would deliver a valentine to me! This is just adorable.
Thank you for sharing Marie’s beautiful table…It is obvious that she loves every holiday and provides such a wonderful experience for her family….so love those “heart felt frogs”….they are just the cutest!!
What an enchanting tablescape. Particularly love the whimsical frogs as they remind me of a song that my Father use to sing to us when we were children. It went something like this ……”Mister Frog wenta-courtin, he did ride uh- huh,uh-huh. A Frog went a courtin, he did ride, uh-huh,uh. A Sword and buckle at his side etc. etc. etc. etc. Perhaps you, Marie or one of your other readers may have heard of it. As it is a very lengthy song I’m afraid I would have to look up its lyrics to get the lines in proper sequence …… uh-huh, uh-huh. ☺
Thank you both for sharing all ‘the prettys’. -Brenda-
lol That rings a bell…I do believe I’ve heard it. 🙂 I like your version, Brenda! 🙂
Oh, this is too cute for words! I love how this table screams “fun”! Love the heart plates, frogs, feather centerpieces and the glitzy bling! Another homerun! Thanks for sharing as I really love Marie’s decorating!
I love the charm and whimsy of this setting Hugs P.S. I hope you will share it at the Thursday Hop ( its still open)

Lois, I think she told me she found those at Pier 1…they are really cute!
I love this table setting, especially the frogs. What fun! Where did she find such cute frogs? I’ve been looking at them and trying to figure a way to make some for my Valentine table setting. I love Thursdays because I come here and get so inspired by all the different table settings. Susan, you make life fun.
I believe Marie found those at Pier 1, if I’m remembering correctly. 🙂 Thanks, Susan!
