Beautiful DIY Lit Pumpkin Centerpiece for Autumn

Welcome to the 560th Metamorphosis Monday!

Good Morning from Ohio. I’m visiting family over the next few days and looking forward to sharing some of Ohio’s beautiful autumn foliage. My Before and After for this week’s Met Monday is a wonderful idea my daughter-in-law, Nancy, created for a beautiful fall table centerpiece.

Lit Ceramic Pumpkin Centerpiece for Autumn

She placed a pierced ceramic pumpkin down inside a gorgeous autumn wreath.

I love how this looks from all sides and even from above!

Pumpkin Wreath Fall Centerpiece

This ceramic pumpkin has a light inside so in the evening, it looks so pretty glowing in the center of the table.

Pierced Ceramic Lit Pumpkin

To create this centerpiece, Nancy placed a raised pedestal candle holder/stand in the center of the wreath, then placed the pumpkin on top.

This would be such a beautiful, easy-to-make centerpiece if you’re having a dinner party this fall, or just to enjoy every day.

Nancy has had this pumpkin for several years, but if you would like to make a similar centerpiece, I found pretty pierced pumpkins on sale here: Pierced Pumpkins. In addition to the sale, the code FALL at checkout works for free shipping.

Instead of using a real candle inside, I would use a faux candle to avoid any heat buildup inside that could possibly damage the pumpkin. I love a real candle but for using inside a ceramic pumpkin, the faux ones are perfect because you get the glow without the heat. You’ll find a bunch of sizes/styles of faux candles available here, some of which are on sale: Faux Candles.

Happy Autumn to you!

Metamorphosis Monday

Metamorphosis Monday is a party that’s all about Before and Afters. If you are participating in Met Monday, please link up using the “permalink” to your MM post and not your general blog address. To get your permalink, click on your post name, then just copy and paste the address that shows up in the address bar at the top of your blog, into the “url” box for InLinkz when prompted.

In order to link up, you’ll need to include a link in your MM post back to the party so the other participants will have an opportunity to receive visits from your wonderful blog readers.

Feel free to link up Before and After posts that are home, gardening, decorating, crafting, painting, sewing, cooking, fashion, travel or DIY related. Please do not link up to the party if you’re only doing so to promote/sell a product.

To those linking up, if you notice a shop or online store linking up to sell products (yes, unfortunately, that happens) please let me know so I can remove their link and block them from participating in future parties.

  1. Welcome back to Ohio! Our foliage is not quite at its peak, but it’s getting there. Glad you enjoy it. Nancy’s centerpiece is beautiful. You are a very talented duo!

  2. Hmm, looks like the decorating and table-scaping talents run in the family. 😀 I also noticed Nancy has a very similar color scheme to yours in her dining room. 🙂

So simple and a great idea. I imagine it looks great at night, very warm and welcoming. I’m looking forward to having a daughter-in-law to share such fun, girly things with.

Susan, I love it when you share your adventures in Ohio. Hearing about the family is wonderful, and we are always treated to beautiful neighborhood pictures. Perhaps this time we’ll see some houses decorated for autumn and halloween. I hope you all have a great time together!

  3. Thank you Susan! Love the pierced pumpkins! Enjoy your visit…

  4. Very pretty! Have fun with the grandchildren. They grow up so quick.

P.S.: Where I live, we have been in the Fall mode for several weeks and I’ve noticed that the flock of Blue Jays who regularly visit my backyard are now no where to be seen so I suspect they have left for a warmer climate ….. clever birds that they are even though they never asked me to go with them since I hate the cold. ☺

  5. This is really beautiful and clever Susan – your daughter in law is so creative – I’m definitely going to try it! Thanks for scouting out the pierced pumpkins, and as always, for hosting this excellent party. Hope you have a wonderful trip to Ohio!

  6. Beautiful arrangement! Covers Fall, Halloween and Thanksgiving!

  7. A beautiful centerpiece. Enjoy your visit and be careful on your return trip home.

  8. Nancy, thanks for sharing. This is ideal–simple and still so lush. And the colors are muted enough to carry through November. I hope you (Nancy) share Christmas ideas too.

I must say how impressive Nancy’s centerpiece looks pairing the pierced pumpkin with the wreath. The wreath is beautiful & I also love the fact that the pumpkin can be lit up, which must look awesome during the evening hours. You & Nancy are both so naturally creative whereas I am severely challenged! You make a great team!

  12. Susan what a beautiful pumpkin centerpiece! I love how the candle light glows from it. I saw one similar that I wanted but when I went back it was gone.

  13. Thanks so much for hosting each week!!
    Hugs,
    Debbie

What an elegant combination and I love that the light shows through, especially at night creating such a warm glow. Happy that your are back up north! We do have lovely Autumns, if I do say so, hehe, it’s just the winters can be brutal, ha. Enjoy the beautiful fall colors and the joy of being with family! ♥️

We’re having wonderful weather in Ohio – been loving it! Bet you are too.

One of these days we will meet in person.

Love her centerpiece – it is gorgeous and so simple! ♥

Enjoy your time with family, Susan.

  17. This is off the subject but if you and Nancy have a nail session I hope you can take some pictures for us. Have fun

    • Barbara, Nancy said she will redo her nails real soon. When she does, I’ll take photos and share them on the blog. I’ve been doing mine with the KISS nails since she taught me how to do it, and I do love them.

  18. Thanks for hosting each week. I enjoy all you blog posts. Thelma.
