Welcome to the 251st Metamorphosis Monday!
I have a fabulous kitchen renovation to share! Julie who blogs at Creating This Life, recently shared some great Before and After pics of her kitchen. Julie’s home was 9 years old when they moved in. They took their time before renovating which gave them some time to figure out exactly what they liked and didn’t like about their kitchen.
BEFORE
The fluorescent light and dated wallpaper were definitely on her “got to go” list. The cabinets were in great shape but needed a little tweaking and redesign. The laminate countertops were also in need of an update.
The area around the refrigerator wasn’t functioning well for Julie and her family so it got a makeover, too.
Here’s a view of the breakfast area before the renovation got underway.
Ready to see the After?
AFTER:
Beautiful! Julie went with a beautiful granite called Giallo Ornamental. I love it! Wallpaper is gone and the walls are painted Benjamin Moore, Beigewood. Cabinets were freshened up with Benjamin Moore, White Dove.
Don’t you love the lanterns Julie picked out to replace the fluorescent light fixture? I love the romance and warmth they add to the kitchen!
Julie was thrilled to have much easier access to her cookware once the renovation was complete. Yay, for pull-out shelves!
Her contractor also gave her some great space for items that are best stored vertically like cookie sheets and cutting boards.
This area was completely made over, adding additional storage and function.
You can read more about how this was done on Julie’s blog. She gives some excellent advice about why you should get several estimates and how important it is to find a contractor who listens to what you need.
Remember the breakfast area?
Check it out now! Wow!
The dramatic change you see here in the breakfast area was easily achieved by taking down all the blinds, removing the wallpaper and adding a different light fixture. It’s such a dramatic change, you would think a lot more had been done here, wouldn’t you? It gives us all hope knowing that little changes can really have a big impact.
Stop by Julie’s blog for additional photos and information about this wonderful kitchen makeover.

Looking forward to the Before and Afters linked for this Met Monday!
If you are participating in Metamorphosis Monday, you will need to link up the “permalink” to your MM post and not your general blog address. To get your permalink, click on your post name, then just copy and paste the address that shows up in the address bar at the top of your blog, into the “url” box for InLinkz.
In order to link up, you’ll need to include a link in your MM post back to the party so the other participants will have an opportunity to receive visits from your wonderful blog readers.
Please observe these few rules:
Only link up Before and After posts that are home, gardening, crafting, painting, sewing, cooking, DIY related.
Do not link up if you’re doing so to promote a website or product.
Do not link up a post that was just linked last week since a lot of readers will have already seen that post.
Do not type in ALL CAPS. It spreads the links waaaay out.
Welcome! Thanks for coming to the party!
Awesome kitchen, and I love the storage ideas. Thanks for hosting the party.

Julie’s kitchen is amazing! I love that dining space with all the windows!! I didn’t really notice the windows with the blinds and wallpaper. Gorgeous kitchen! Thank you for sharing it with us … and thanks for hosting. Heading over to Julie’s now!
What a great transformation! Love those pullout shelves! Thanks so much for hosting. Have a wonderful week!
I love Julie’s remodeled kitchen and would love to know more about the lantern lights she used over the stove, I think. Where can these be purchased? They are great! Please email me a source. I could not see how to contact her.
Thanks!
Susan
Hi Susan. The pendants were from Capital Lighting and the maker was Savoy House and the style was Oxford. I think, however, that they were discontinued pretty quickly after I bought mine.
Susan, thanks for sharing Julie’s kitchen with us. I LOVE a good before and after, and this is a great one!
What a beautiful kitchen and so well thought out. I do love a white kitchen! I’ll be sure to look at her blog.

What a great kitchen makeover! I’m sure Julie is really enjoying it. Thanks for hosting the party.
Very pretty. She did a wonderful job.
One thing I noticed was how much “calmer” the kitchen looked. I do like wallpaper in kitchens for a homey look, but in this instance, her ‘after’ is so much more appealing to me because it evokes feelings of calm and tranquility. Maybe that says something about me as a panic-y cook, lol. 😀
Wow…beautiful kitchen transformation! Thanks so much for hosting.

What a great redo. I would not have thought of that color, but it makes me want to bake something. It really is a delicious color. I love the cookie sheet storage also.
Great post Susan.
Wow everyone, thanks for all your nice comments and to Susan for featuring the kitchen. You all are making my day.
I love the kitchen renovation. The attention to detail is amazing, especially with the fabulous storage.
She did a great job with her kitchen. I love the storage, clean lines and coloring. I had a similar light fixture before our remodel- so glad to have gotten rid do it! She has a nice blog, I recently discovered her and enjoy seeing her updates.
Wow, wonderful makeover. Love the granite and the electric stove-no cleanup for the stovetop. Making the walls dark was great contrast.
That is one amazing reno! I love every detail, but especially the lamps that replaced the flourescent light. Just a beautiful job! Thanks for hosting, Susan.
What a beautiful kitchen transformation! Thanks so much for hosting, Susan!
I like a white kitchen! This is a great transformation, not only in the kitchen but how amazing is that eating area, now! The wallpaper and blinds were stopping the eye. Now, with that gone, and the curtains between the windows, it just makes it look alike it is all glass! Amazing. Did I say,… amazing? 🙂
Beautiful! what is the color that was used on the wall?
Nicole, it’s Beigewood by Benjamin Moore. 🙂
Great transformation. I love those windows. The kitchen is the most important room in the house. Choose wisely when you look at a new home.
