Welcome to the 79th Tablescape Thursday! Hi Everyone! Hope your day was awesome! I had plans to share a new tablescape with you this evening, took pics this past weekend. But there were a few more things I wanted to include in the post, and unfortunately, I just don't have it quite ready. So, I've been perusing the archives this evening and found a tablescape I put together right after I started … [Read more...]
St. Patrick’s Day Tablescape
Welcome to the 78th Tablescape Thursday! If I show you a St. Patrick's Day tablescape now, will it make spring come faster? I wish. I couldn't make up my mind which napkin rings to use, so I used four different kinds. The frilly ribbon one is actually a hair tie from Big Lots. They only had two hair ties, so I used one as a napkin ring and took the other one apart, and used the ribbons and various parts to … [Read more...]
Home Library Design Ideas
Welcome to the 57th Metamorphosis Monday! On a previous Met Monday, I took you into my "formal" living room that really isn't a formal living room. It's actually been more of a storage room over the years...which is kind of sad since it's the very first room you see when you walk into my home. I have some big plans for it...one day. You can read about those HERE in this previous Met Monday … [Read more...]
Make Heart-Shaped Cakes for Valentine’s Day
I've received several comments and e-mails asking about the cake recipe I used to make the little heart shaped cakes featured in last week's Tablescape Thursday. They were made with a cake recipe given to me by my mother-in-law many years ago. It's a basic cake recipe called a 1234 Cake, and it's the same recipe I use when I make a coconut cake each year at Christmastime. You'll find a printable version … [Read more...]
Valentine’s Day Tablescape
Welcome to the 77th Tablescape Thursday! With Valentine's Day only four days away, I thought I'd post a Valentine's tablescape I created last year. When I put this tablescape together, I couldn't decide if I wanted it in my breakfast room or dining room...so I decided to put it in both! It was a bit of work to set it up in two different rooms, but what a neat opportunity to really see how the room decor … [Read more...]
Let’s Pretend It’s Summertime Again And We’ll Go For A Walk Around Town
Late last summer, a friend and I went for a nice walk in some of the historic towns here in Georgia, one of my fav things to do on a sunny day. You may recognize a couple of these homes from the candlelight Christmas tour I took you on a few weeks ago...now you'll get to see those by daylight, along with lots of new homes I've never shared before. Hope you enjoy this little "walkabout!" (Click on any pic to … [Read more...]
Romantic Valentine’s Day Tablescape
Welcome to the 76th Tablescape Thursday! Pssst, come over here a sec. Shhh, have to whisper, so your Valentine Sweetheart doesn't hear. Guess what I just found out?! It's the neatest thing! If you put all your Valentines in a big envelope and send them to the Postmaster in the tiny town of Valentine, Texas, she will stamp them all with a big RED stamp that says: VALENTINE, TEXAS! Imagine your Valentine's … [Read more...]

The Tree That Owns Itself
Several years ago, when my son was attending the University of Georgia, I drove over for an afternoon visit and a little shopping. As we were driving around Athens, doing a little sightseeing in the historic neighborhoods, my son turns to me and says, "Do you want to see the tree that owns itself?" Huh? "What did you just say?" He looks at me and repeats, "Do you want to see the tree that owns itself?" … [Read more...]
