In The BNOTP Library: Charles Faudree Home

After touring a wonderful home decorated in the beautiful warmth and style of French Country design, I knew the perfect book to share from my decor library.

Charles Faudree Home

I cherish all the books I own by Designer and Philanthropist, Charles Faudree since he just passed away a few months ago.

3 Things I Like About This Book:

  • If you love French Country design, you already know the name Charles Faudree. His beautiful design work was featured often in Traditional Home magazine which is where I first discovered him. The rooms he created always felt warm and inviting. Charles Faudree believed, ” The most important ingredient of a home is that it must have a soul.” If it didn’t have one before he worked his magic, it surely did afterwards!
  • Charles Faudree wasn’t afraid to use color and he wasn’t afraid to mix patterns. He did both better than just about any designer I can think of and you get to see that in this book, as well. His books are an absolute feast for the eyes. They are filled with the kinds of rooms that make you gasp because they’re so beautiful! I’ve never once bought a Faudree book that I didn’t love and want to look though again and again.
  • His style is timeless. I know I will be inspired and can use the ideas I find in his books now and for many years to come. Classic French design has no expiration date and neither do any of the stunning rooms you’ll find in a Faudree book, including this one. I love that we get to see some of his own home in this book in addition to those of his clients.

He was certainly the best of the best, and I was actually feeling a bit sad the day he passed away. Anyway, nice post, Susan; I have two of his books but not this one — I will be getting it.
