Dinner In A Cabin On The Russian River

Welcome to the 225th Tablescape Thursday!

This week you are in for a special treat.  Julio who blogs at Beaux Mondes Designs created a beautiful tables setting in his wonderful cabin in Russian River, California.  I’m absolutely mad about plaid so when I saw this setting, I couldn’t wait to share it for Tablescape Thursday.

Julio’s dining room is amazing, even without a wonderful table setting.  What a beautiful place to dine for Christmas.  I love the plaid draperies and plaid upholstery.

A beautiful arrangement of red roses is perfect for a Christmas table setting.

The crystal stemware gleams in the candlelight.

Plaid salad plates by Ralph Lauren are perfect for a cabin setting.  I love how Julio mixed in a different plaid/tartan for the napkins.

Christmas dinner was served and included spiral cut ham with au gratin potatoes and haricots verts (french style green beans).

  1. A very cozy Russian ambiance, indeed! Living in Europe and Russia is not far from the capital ciity of Stockholm and my Russian friends who are diplomats use to share this kind of coziness.
I am glad to see the “United Nations” tablescaping in your posts. That’s really one of a kind. Seeing different way of tables. Isn’t it interesting?

Hope you have a Peaceful New Year. Can’t wait to see your NY inspiration settings.

    Have a Merry day,
    /CC girl

  2. This is lovely. I like the simplicity and elegance of this setting. Thanks for sharing!

  3. A gentleman’s room for sure. The red roses in the champagne cooler are absolutely elegant and nothing else is needed! A welcoming cozy, yet sophisticated room! Thanks for so many wonderful inspirations every week.

  4. I love the plaid chairs. And the red roses in the silver urn are perfect for a bold splash of color. That room looks like it came right out of a Russian Czar’s palace. Beautiful.

  5. Oh My! I love plaids too, and this dining room and table have me swooning. Absolutely beautiful. Thank you for sharing it, Susan and Julio. laurie

  6. That was a Christmas card!! LOVELY!!! franki

What a great table-the plaid is beautiful!

Do you remember the Mary Tyler Moore show and Ted Baxter? Well, Ted always wore plaid suits. He said plaid was his favorite color! LOL I agree with him! 😉

  8. Love the black lacquered chairs dressed in their modern Tartan! So refreshing to see it being used for Window coverings as well. Had scooted over to his blog prior to making this comment and the entire room is very festive and cozy. Combined with the beautiful tablescape; the dining experience in a Russian River Dacha that Julio created IMHO is a delight. -Brenda-

  9. Oh, my goodness! What a beautiful home AND beautiful decor for Christmas! I have visited Julio’s site on occasion, and he has impeccable taste. The plaids are beautiful (I like ’em mixed, too!), and I’m a big, big fan of the red roses in the silver champagne bucket. Simple, to the point, exquisite! This was a great one to share!

  10. Such a worthwhile project for publication. I’ve enjoyed watching Julio share the process of building their Dacha. Such talent and inspiration! Thanks for hosting us each week. Happy New Year! Cherry Kay

  11. Susan and Julio, thank you for sharing this tartan delight. Wouldn’t it be special to spend Christmas in a cabin like this one? Every detail makes me smile. Like you, I adore the tartan elements in this room and on the table. Bravo!

  12. Oh my, I just love the plaids! Thank you for sharing, hosting and inspiring. Happy New Year blessings.

  13. That room is absolutely amazing. It lends such a warm feeling- how lovely!

Thank you for sharing, and thank you for hosting.

    Happy New Year!

  14. Lovely – I agree plaid is very homey and Christmasy. One nitpicky detail, since I’m a foodie – the French green beans are “haricots verts”, not “harit covert”. Same sound, different spelling. 🙂

  15. Hi Susan,
Hope you had a wonderful Christmas hon. Liked your featured tablescape. Lovely, I too, love plaid and think it is just so pretty. A very simple but lovely table. Loved the roses in the champagne bucket.
    blessings, Nellie

    Hi Susan,

Loved looking at all the beautiful tables this morning but, lately, am having a problem getting the pictures you post. Everyone pictures are fine except the ones you post. I only seem to get two or three and the rest are half covered with gray. Have no idea what changed, but miss seeing everything you send. Hope your Christmas was as special as you are. Cherry

    • Cherry, try clearing your cache. I haven’t had anyone else mention that so I’m not sure what could be causing that. Also, if you’re using Internet Explorer, try using Chrome. IE has been having some problems lately from what I’ve been reading in various articles.

  17. Thanks for sharing this lovely room with us! It’s so cozy, and I especially love how well the patterned rug goes with the plaid drapes and chairs. It’s light color brightens up the room and ties the table in perfectly! I can’t wait to go visit his blog and explore!

  18. I love Julio’s bnlog and home!!! It is all gorgeous. Thanks to Julio for sharing here and thanks to you for hosting each week. It is such a pleasure to be a part of this wonderful party!!!!!!!! Hope you had a GREAT Christmas, Susan. XOXO

THis is one of the more stunning tablescapes I’ve seen, but I am mad about plaid as well! Thank you so much for sharing this with us. God bless you in 2013 and keep up the lovely posts!

  20. Love the chair seats. Very simple and manly table, I just treated myself to 12 plaid plates at the PB Outlet.
    Happy New Year, Susan.

  21. When can we go visit?

  22. Julio’s little Dacha is really gorgeous. I love this room! It’s warm and cozy and elegant. The table is perfect to the minute details. His Ralph Lauren pieces (plates and napkins) are just wonderful together.. xo marlis

  25. Beautiful table and room….I so love plaid!

  26. Beautiful room, cozy and elegant at the same time. We had a friend in Switzerland who owned hotels and were invited to dinners in his private room, it was all tartan as he loved anything Scottish and this reminded me of the happy times we spent there.
Thank you for showing us this Susan.

  27. Thank you Susan for featuring our Christmas Dacha tablescape. This is a great honor. Thank you also to your readers for your kind and inspiring words. This has been a great culmination of my holidays. May you all have a healthy and prosperous New Year.

  28. Beautiful! So comfy and warm!

  29. Julio’s dining room is absolutely fabulous – from the wall art to the draperies and the table setting are so well coordinated. Tartan is so festive and Julio created an artful display. Happy Holidays! All the Best, Requi
