Welcome to the 428th Tablescape Thursday!
It rained all day yesterday so I had to wait until this morning to take photos. The early morning light was just starting to stream in through the windows. I’ll try to add some brighter photos to this post later today.
Brown rattan chargers are available here: Rattan Chargers Their rich brown color adds a woodsy feel to this table and works well with the plaid dinner plates. The plaid plates are from Pottery Barn several years ago.
The cinnamon red flatware is still available here: Red Flatware. It works great for Valentine’s Day and Christmas table settings.
The deer napkin rings were a delightful gift from my friend, Linda. The red beaded napkins are new this year. I think I found them in Homegoods. I’ve used them for this table because I love how they repeat/reflect the pretty gold in the glasses.
Couldn’t wait to use the fun, woody-car salad plates, this year’s new edition to the Better Homes and Gardens Christmas Holiday Dishware available at Wal-Mart. You’ll find the dishware set HERE. I’m not sure if the woody plates are still available by themselves online, but they should still be in the stores since they just started appearing in the stores recently.
Here’s a picture taken later in the day with a bit more light coming in through the windows.
Glasses are Spode Christmas Tree and are available here: Spode Christmas Tree.
Soft light filtering in through the windows…such a gorgeous fall day after yesterday’s full day of rain. We needed the rain soooo much though, so I’m not complaining!
Mr. and Mrs. Deer have just gotten home from a trip to the Christmas Tree Farm. 🙂
This adorable truck is available here: Red Christmas Truck.
Look what’s tucked in back! It’s time to decorate the tree!
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone!
Looking forward to the beautiful table settings shared for this week’s Tablescape Thursday!
If you are participating in Tablescape Thursday, please be sure to add your permalink below, and not your general blog address. To get your permalink, click on your post name, then copy and paste the address showing in the address bar, into the “url” box when you link up. You’ll need to include a link in your post back to the party to link up and participate.
That’s so visitors to your blog will be able to find the party and the other Tablescape Thursday participants. Requiring a link back also prevents businesses and scammers from linking up to sell their products. (Yep, that really happens, unfortunately.)
The creativity that is shared here each week makes my heart sing. Thank you, Susan!
Adorable truck to pair with your woody plates Susan! Love the sun streaming in on your table!
Susan,
Love, love, love the nostalgic plates and little red truck. I purchased some of the same plates myself since they remind me so much of my family’s past Christmases. My uncle once had a shiny red pick up truck and is in some of my old family films that I have been reviewing lately. They are so heartwarming and your tablescape brings back all of the wonderful memories. Thank you.
Such a fun table, Susan. I just bought the only three “woody” plates our Wal Mart had. Will have to check some other WM stores for another one. Love Mr. and Mrs. Deer and the truck. And the gold-edged napkins are fabulous. As always, thank you for hosting.
What a darling tablescape, Susan!! I do love the new salad plate in the BHG series! I was wondering earlier this week if I would have time to do a table with those dishes again this year; I’m so glad you shared them with all of us. 🙂 Your napkin rings are beautiful (what a sweet gift) and I LOVE those deer. They’re adorable!
Thank you for hosting Tablescape Thursday and have a great day.
Hugs,
Denise
Love it all, especially the Mr. and Mrs. Deer!! Where did you get those? I need them for my truck too!
Thanks, Anita! I found them in the ornament section of Target. They had some of the cutest ornaments this year!
Adorable!! I don’t ‘need’ new plates, so won’t buy the woody station wagon ones…but Marshall’s has a similar design in a little paper napkin! Soooo, those came home with me for my cocoa and coffee tray in the kitchen. Thanks for such good ideas! 🙂
I am on board (pun intended) with the little red truck theme this year, so picked up a few of those plates at Walmart, along with coordinating reindeer plates available in the same BH&G line. As I was shopping, I must of had six women stop me and ask about those darling plates! They are a sure hit this season!
What a find! Those plates are lovely…and your touches of plaid are always a favorite. Thanks for hosting!
I got the woody plates about a month ago! They are all gone from all 3 Walmarts in our area now!!! I love your table and can’t wait to do mine with these plates!!! Merry Christmas!!!
OK, that centerpiece is too cute for words. This one would be a great holiday tradition for the grandkids; pack up the few elements to take along when you visit them. And love the gorgeous, rich flatware.
Gah! Susan, you’ve got to stop it! You make it so very tempting to run out to these stores (or simply go online) and pick up all these cute accessories for tables! As inexpensive as the woody plates were , I bought a few because they remind me of my dad. 🙂 That little truck is just way too cute for the price, and those deer just coming back from shopping the tree farm – hilarious. Love the way you put it all together, using some classics and the few new things. This week I styled two looks on one basic underpinning on my table for both a polished and casual look.
Thanks for infecting…er, I mean inspiring us, and hosting us weekly for our booster shot of infection….er, I mean inspiration. 😉
Decorating my table this weekend. This is so cute. Makes we want to get the tartan dinner plates. I have a co-worker making the Hot Chocolate sign so I can set a Hot Chocolate bar in January/February. We got in Snowman mugs and dinner plates to go with the appetizer plates that were available last year. Can’t wait to set all the tables for the winter months
That little red truck is driving me crazy…want…franki
Thank you! Thank you!
Where can I purchase M & M Deer?
The topper tree on the round table?
HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You are the best at giving us inspiration, shopping info, etc.
Thanks!
lol Mr. & Mrs. Deer are from the ornament section in Target.
Gosh, I don’t remember now where I bought that tree…I’ve had it for a gazillion years. I think it was either Marshalls or HomeGoods, just been so long, can’t remember now.
I so admire all your tablescapes! I have to ask, where do you store all your china and glass? You need a dish room like the white house! Thank you for all you share! You are an inspiration! 🙂
Thanks, Colleen. It looks like I have a lot more than I do because I reuse the dinner plates a lot and just add new salad plates. I store it all in my kitchen cabinets, laundry cabinets, porch hutch, dining room hutch and a dish closet that you can see here: https://betweennapsontheporch.net/a-few-changes-to-my-china-closet-welcome-to-the-35th-metamorphosis-monday/
Your tables setting are always so over the top gorgeous, love your little red truck I got one last year and had so many compliments on it
What a great table. I love each element. Just terrific. I have a Tonka truck that my brother redid as a gift for me. It is not red–baby blue–but similar and last year I put a tree in the back but now I will have to look for a little wreath to put on the grille in front.
Just beautiful, Susan!
SUCH a CUTE table! Love it! You are amazing!
The table is so very adorable!!!…Love the new line of dinnerware and the truck could not be any cuter! and love that tree!
Another wonderful table setting, Susan. (My husband would love that little red truck!) I followed the link you included in a comment re your china closet and smiled to myself as I expected you to admit that you perched yourself on a shelf to ensure it was sturdy. Just kidding of course and said with fondness and admiration for being as talented as you are. Hugs -Brenda-
Well, every time I add more dishes to those shelves, I pray they don’t collapse! lol So far, so good! 🙂
LUV the entire table especially the cute Woody salad plates!!
As always another great table setting!! Thank you.
🙂
Really cute table Susan! Getting caught up on a week’s worth of your blog. Hubby suffered a major stroke Thanksgiving night, a week I NEVER want to repeat! THANKFUL he is alive and we are home now – a true miracle that he made it and can walk, think and understand, chew, swallow and feed himself! He cannot speak at this time, but trusting God to restore that too. Loved reviewing your blog, made me feel things are getting back to normal! It’s SO GOOD to be home!
Wow, what a scary thing to go through. I’m so sorry to hear about your hubby, but thankful he is doing so well. I bet the speech will come back with time. So glad he’s home, bet he feels better being at home, too. Big hugs to you and him, Cyndi! XXX
LOVE it!
Good morning.☕️ I’d rather spend my time looking at your ideas here before I venture out to shop. You are helpful in ways you can’t begin to imagine. I feel like you do my RESEARCH for me. Thank you, Susan.
This is post is just too much fun! It would be so hard for me to take it down. Thanks for the inspiration and for the party.
Susan ,I just love this sweet and whimsical table setting!!!! The deer are the perfect touch, but you’re always great at the finishing touches that make things extra special. We restored a red 1955 truck–wish we still had it–seems a lot of people are really into them now. Hugs!
Walmart has a ceramic wax warmer with the whole village scene on it, and woody w/ the tree on top is the main attraction. Picked one up just yesterday. And the woody’s headlights are poked out so the lightbulb shines through like the headlights are turned on. It is so cute. 15$.
I love this tablescape!! Too cute! And there are the napkin rings!!! So glad that you got to use them. I got some of the Woody plates to add to my Home & Garden Christmas dishes that a really sweet friend gave to me!! The table is just adorable!!
Love all your tablescapes which gives me so many ideas. Are you going to
be able to post Marie’s decorations this year. Love all thoes also.
Judy
I hadn’t talked to her about posting Christmas decorations. I need to check with her about that. Thanks for asking, Judy…hadn’t thought about it, been so busy around here. 🙂
Still catching up on your posts; but I am recently retired and looking forward to checking your site more often. I just love your ideas. Where did you get Mr. and Mrs. Deer? Thanks for adding joy to my day!
