In the BNOTP Library: Classic English Interiors

It was a happy day the day I discovered books authored by Designer, Lady Henrietta Spencer-Churchill, the elder daughter of the 11th Duke of Marlborough. I don’t remember which of her books was the first one I purchased, but once it arrived, I was hooked. I immediately began ordering others. I just counted before I started writing this post and I have 7 of her books, so far. Love them all!

Classic English Interiors by Henrietta Spencer-Churchill

3 Things I Like About This Book:

  • Pictures are beautiful, typical of all the wonderful books I have that are published by Rizzoli
  • The title of the book says it all, the rooms are classic English design. You’ll find wonderful canopied beds, flowing drapes, rich interiors, beautiful art, all the wonderful furnishings you would hope to see in an elegant country estate..
  • The back 1/3 of the book is an education in design. It’s almost like Henrietta is teaching us how designers think and work.  I really enjoyed it.

  1. Marvelous English design books Susan! This is right up my alley; I’ve always loves English interior design much more than others and I always try to decorate as I can in that direction. My blog friend and you might know her too…French artist Martine Aleson once said that my house was so ‘Brtish’ like they call them! Thank you for sharing this books with us.
    Have a wonderful weekend.
