Welcome to the 160th Metamorphosis Monday! Valentine’s Day is tomorrow. I love that holiday. How can you not love a day that’s all about chocolate, romance and ♥ LOVE! ♥ It makes me smile when I remember bringing Valentine’s Day cards to school. If I close my eyes, I can still see all the colorful construction-paper folders we made and decorated. They were strung along the wall where they patiently waited to be filled with sweet valentines.
When February 14th arrived, the classroom became a little bee’s nest as we scurried around carefully placing the tiny envelopes in the correct folders. Do you remember the night before, reading your valentines and carefully choosing just the right valentine card for each friend, especially if that friend was your classroom crush? Oh, the excitement of opening the valentines the next day! I always wondered what those little envelopes would hold. Would it be candy, a message from a “secret admirer” or just a friendly valentine? Maybe it was all those Nancy Drew books I was reading. Whatever it was, I loved and still love the mystery and intrigue of this special day. This Valentine’s Day, my crush is you. Will you be my Valentine? ♥ Check: Yes √ or No √.
The guest bedroom received a little Valentine’s Day decorating.
I was hoping you might be stopping by so I have a little Valentine’s Day treat ready. Love this heart shaped napkin fold. I’ll create a tutorial for it soon…it super easy to make.
You’ll find additional Valentine’s Day craft, decorating and table setting ideas under the “Tablescape/Holiday/Valentine’s Day” category at the top of the home page.
♥ Happy Valentine’s Day! ♥

Very cute! Yeah, definitely don't think I could make that garland for less than $6! Love it though!!!
Thanks for hosting, Susan! Have a wonderful week!
Adorable Room! I love everything! The color combination of the blue and yellow with the touch of Valentine Red is perfect! Wishing you a great Valentine's Day! XO Cindy
I always loved Valentine's Day as a kid…especially the construction paper valentines!! Thanks for hosting Susan!!
That is the perfect place for that garland. I would like to check into your guest room for some R&R!
Love the heart garland! Such a romantic touch! Love the transferware you've used – what a perfect idea for breakfast in bed. So pretty! Thanks for sharing and for hosting this party each week.

Susan, thanks for hosting! I just adore this gorgeous colorful room. So cute and all dressed up for Valentines just makes even more loving! Have a great day.
Checking off the yes box – you're the bee's knees! I do remember the V-day card passed to me in grade school. Woodstock typing on Snoopy's house said "You're my Type"! Wow – anyone would be thrilled to be a guest in your house on V-day – your guest room is so fun. Excited to share my kitchen tour with you today too.

Susan, I love the Valentine decorations…and I especially fell for the daffodils…I am inspired to do a little Springtime decorating! Thanks for hosting today.
I have not painted my bedroom since moving in 1-1/2 years ago and seeing your lovely room reminded me how much I need to get on this project! I love the blue and yellow color scheme and the touches of red are charming. I'm sure your guests never want to leave! Thanks for hosting and Happy Valentine's Day.

The heart garland is so sweet Susan! Love daffodils- my hubby's grandmother used to grow all kinds – before they sold their home in Calif to go into a retirement center I went and helped packed them up and was sure to dig up some bulbs and other plants in the yard. They have moved 3 times with me and I always love seeing them peek through the ground reminding me Spring is near. They are still sleeping here in Colorado.
Thank you for hosting! I love this party! 🙂
What a sweet garland! I love that sunny yellow and blue guest room. Lucky is the guest that gets to stay there! Thank you for hosting Met Monday!
Everything looks so welcoming, Susan! You know I already love the colors in your beautiful guest bedroom! Have a great week!…hugs…Debbie
Thanks, Erin! The garland was actually a good bit longer, too…I snipped off a pretty big section for the look I needed.
What is the paint color in this room? I have a room with blue and white bedding and want to paint it yellow.
Thanks, Cindy! Happy Valentine's Day to you! ♥
May, it's all ready…come on!
Anita, me too. Shhh, don't tell anyone, but I'm not sure I ever grew up.
Thanks, Debbie…Happy Valentine's Day to you, too!
That sound sooo cute! Wish I still had all those old Valentine's now. Can you just imagine if we had saved them all?!
Your guest room is so very inviting and dressed beautifully for Valentines Day! Love the little added touches to an already lovely room!
Mary Ellen, I used to have more types blooming but each year some of the yellow ones seem to be disappearing and are replaced by the lighter colored ones. I love them all though. Love how many types there are. Maybe this next fall I should get out there and plant some new varieties. Love that you continue to carry yours with you. Your hubby's grandmother would be so touched to know that. 🙂
That looks so pretty! It's SO Southern Living-ish! I just recently began changing to a paler palette but then I see this and wish I still had the before look! I need TWO houses! LOL
Lorraine
I LOVE that room in any season! Does Max adore that garland as much as I do? ;} I can't even go into Pier 1…or I'll leave my entire pay cheque behind! ;} And that pitcher is a-dorable!!!
m ^..^
Lorraine, lol I know what you mean…I feel the same way when I visit other blogs and see so many great styles!
Susan, we're having a beautiful snow right now in North Arkansas and I love it! If I had a room like your guest room, I think I'd crawl into that comfy bed and sleep and then have hubby bring me some fresh hot coffee and cinnamon rolls! Hope everyone has a great day!
Susan, Your guest bedroom is lovely! I also love the Valentine decorations! The heart garland is precious! What a great place to add the garland- the foot of the bed! Thanks for hosting. I appreciate the opportunity to link!
I absolutely LOVE this room. It is so welcoming.
Your room is beautiful! I love the garland and the daffodils! Thanks for hosting.

HI Susan, love this room. I agree with everyone…any season this room is wonderful! Love the little
decoration you got and for only 6.00 what a find! Yay. This is my favorite party to come to for ideas.
So many ideas, from so many amazing bloggers…it is overwhelming sometimes all the projects
people are working on…and I think…I'd like to try that! I need more LIFETIME! HAHAHA.
Have a great Valentine's day.
Blessings,
Debbie
Susan, I love your entire house. Your guest bedroom is beautiful and the small Valentine touches are lovely. In this "decorating" era of muted color it is refreshing to see that someone else still decorates with color. I like the suttle tones, however, I could never be with out my blues, reds, yellows, etc. Your daffs add just the right touch to the room. I've read that overcrowding of bulbs can cause reduced blooming. Possibly that is causing yours to not bloom as much as they used to. Up here in SE Va we had a light snow Sat night…I hope my daffs will "spring" back and continue to remind me that warmer weather is not far off. Thank you for your enchanting blog and your pictures that always brighten my day. Vikki in Va.
Hi, Susan, isn't this weather amazing, that you have daffodils blooming in February? Mine are ready to open here in Virginia, it's crazy! (but I love it for sure) I linked the post on making my daughter's red ruffled Valentine skirt (and what a trial in my life!!!) and linked back to you. Have a great week. Hugs ~ Mary P.S. I'll be your Valentine! P.P.S. Please send chocolate 🙂
Susan, your guest room is very pretty and inviting. Thanks for hosting.
That garland is adorable! So cute. And I love the red transferware too!
Mary…I don't ever remember daffodils this soon! lol Yes, chocolate! I think it's an official food group, now. 🙂
Thanks, Debbie! I know…you are so right. My head is always spinning with all the fabulous inspiration!
I love those hearts. What a sweet idea.Thank you for hosting.I added your button to my blog too 🙂
Hi Susan! You know I love everything you do as I'm one of your biggest fans! 🙂

Be a sweetie,
Shelia 🙂
Daffodils already…Lucky you!!! I LOVE spring, so seeing you have some already makes my heart sing!!! LOVE the beautiful bedroom: so cheerful and beautiful! What a great feel the garland gives…I'll have to look them up! 🙂 Thanks for sharing and for the great link party!!
What a neat idea! So sweet! Thanks for sharing Joann
Thanks for hosting Susan… I so enjoy your lovely blog & all your inspiration! Blessings!
Your bedroom is beautiful! Love the breakfast in bed tray…such pretty dishes! Thanks for hosting the linky party!
What a beautiful room, I'd love to be a guest. That garland is darling.
I so remember giving and getting the Valentine's and then doing them with my own kids, sadly they are trying to take this holiday away, what harm it does I can't imagine, if people vote this man in again we won't recognize this country.
Happy Valentine's Day to you, love your blog !!!
Very pretty! Thanks for hosting! Linking up today with a DIY chalkboard!!
Beautiful room. I am particularly fond of the pitcher with Love on the side. Happy Valentine's Day!
I love this room especially with the Valentine's decorations. I never would have thought to use the armoire like you have in this room in a bedroom. But it works. I have beautiful handpainted piece that I was going to give away; now maybe I can think of a "different" location for it. Big fan of white wicker and surprised how the ecletic look works here. I have a "thing" for round tables with pretty tablecloths like you have in this room. Sometimes they become another place to leave clutter! I've eliminated a few but still love the look. Wish I had more rooms to decorate and more time to do it! This room makes me just want to hop over and share a latte!!
love love love your guest bedroom decor! It came out gorgeous!!!!
The room looks adorable! Thanks for hosting!

Susan How I love your guest bedroom. And you dressed it up so cute for Valentines Day. I'm waiting for an invite to come stay in that beautiful bedroom and I will make you some fabulous food. It would help if I lived closer. A plane trip clear across the nation is too much right now. Oh well I can dream. (big smile)

Susan, your guest room is so pretty!
Susan, I love all your flow blue! Pretty room!
Thanks, Mary! XO
Somewhere along I missed your guest BR. So wonderfully welcome. My room is similar to layout of furniture, bed on an angle, but a bit smaller. No room for a chair which I wold love to have. I have a an antique fireplace surround hung on the wall as a shelf….working on a new coverlet and different patterns for surrounding decor which includes large black check fabric (love it). You give me hope to go beyond the norm. Time to head to the rest of your home and reinforce some of my visions. Ot…. for some reason your site locks up all my tabs and have to shut down. It hasn’t happened the last couple of times, so not sure if it is my software or something in your program. Maybe I am the only one, but it doesn’t stop me from coming back for visits.
It was a custom match, matched to the yellow in the pillow and curtain fabric.
But there are two yellow paint colors that I love to use and you’ll find them in this post:
