Camellia Centerpiece for an Easter or Spring Table Setting

Welcome to the 237th Tablescape Thursday!

Yesterday was the first official day of spring.  I’m so happy about that!  I love spring and summer so much!  The day started out a bit  chilly but it warmed up just enough to get me out on the porch for this week’s Tablescape Thursday.  The table setting I’m sharing today would be great for Easter and that’s more or less what I had in mind when I created it, but it would also work well anytime during the spring and summer months.

Easter Spring Tablescape Table Setting

Mr. Bunny was eager to pitch in and help again this week.

You may remember two weeks ago he helped out with this St. Patrick’s Day tablescape by bringing along a basket of shamrocks.

St. Patrick's Day Table Setting Tablescape

For this week’s table, he filled his basket with Debutante camellias in the softest shade of pink.

I’m pretty sure I know where he found those.

You may remember this camellia in my front yard from a previous Christmas post: How to Hang Wreaths on Exterior Windows

What a sneaky little bunny, picking my camellias!

It’s hard to see, but the napkins are a spring green covered with sheer napkin sheaths.

The green napkins are visible in this overhead view.

For this tablescape I used floral Spode Chargers from the Kim Parker Home Collection.  The pattern is called “Emma’s Garland.”

As seen in this previous tablescape, this is the salad plate that was designed to actually coordinate with the chargers.

Kim Parker Home Collection: Pattern Emma

I normally use the coordinating salad plates when I use the Spode chargers but for this tablescape I decided to try something a bit different.  I love mixing pieces to come up with different  combinations for different occasions.  This Sketch Floral by Mikasa looked pretty with the chargers.  To see more of this pattern, check out this table setting here: Mikasa Sketch Floral

In this photo below from a tropical table setting I did back in 2009, you can see the full pattern on the chargers.  I love these silly things.  Green is my fave color, followed by hot pink, so the colors in these make my heart sing. 🙂

I found these cute numbered pails in Marshalls a few weeks ago.

I purchase the two pictured above and one more in an cream color bearing the number 3.  When I was checking out with them, the cashier asked where number 1 was?  HA!

They should be a lot of fun to use this summer for all kinds of things.

For today, Mr. Bunny is using them to carry all his Easter eggs.

  1. What gorgeous camellias Susan, they’re so ruffly they look like peonies! Love your bunny and those adorable numbered egg-filled pails! Thanks for hosting 🙂

    • Thanks, Mary! They are a bit like small peonies, aren’t they? 🙂 I had forgotten the name of that gardenia since I planted it so long ago, but a reader recognized it for me a while back. Once she said the name, I remembered it. I should write these things down! 🙂

  2. Hi Susan – Happy Spring! LOVE Mr. Bunny. He’s the coolest. I was walking around the property last night checking all of the buds to see what survived from last year… and lo and behold… we have a beautiful pink camellia bush on the side in full bloom. Woo hoo! Crazy over camellias!!! Have a great day and thanks for hosting. ~ Holly

  3. Susan, you never disappoint! What a beautiful Spring table! You truly have the perfect setting for all your tablescapes.

  4. Ahh your bunny looks so cute with the camellias! Your mix if dishes look great! What a nice spring table!

  5. Such a Spring, fun table Susan, your camelias are gorgeous…there is something so special about flowers fresh from the garden. Hard to choose my favorite part of this table, but I do love those floral chargers! The napkins look fresh and airy with the overlay and the whole porch sings Spring! Unfortunately, I think we’re in for a cold and rainy weekend in the South. Thanks for sharing your Easter/Spring creation and for having today’s party.
    Jenna

  6. Lovely Easter and spring tablescape. Thanks for hosting.

  8. Mary from Virginia says

What a cute tablesetting. I love how you mixed and matched your patterns.

What is your secret to the giant camellia bush with so many blooms?

    • Neglect. 😉 Actually, I don’t do anything to it and it’s always loaded with blooms. I guess it likes where it’s planted, although it’s in a bad spot…grew a lot taller than I realized it would. Thanks, Mary!

  9. I love the balance of the Sketch Floral on top of the heavier lettuce-y plates and the dense floral of the Spode. The colors of spring just make me happy, too! Beautiful setting.

  10. Kerry@homecrush says

Love your sneaky bunny — and those buckets!! I doubt there are any left, but I’m heading to Marshall’s just the same, fingers crossed! Thanks for hosting.

  11. Susan,
I love your springy tablescape…so pretty. Thank you for using my pink napkin rings…they look perfect around your green napkins. The green and pink are always a favorite combination.
    Karin

    • Thanks, Karin! I just sent you something. 🙂

      • Hi! Love, love, love this tablescape! Delightful! I was going to ask where you got those beautiful napkin rings, but it seems they are from the Style Sisters? When I clicked on their site to purchase I didn’t see them? Any ideas where I might find something similar? They are just lovely! Thanks –

  12. This is lovely, as usual! I especially love the chargers-you are so creative with them. I would have never picked chargers that are not a solid color, but now that I see how well they work, I will consider them in the future.

    • Bev, I thought the same thing when I was buying them…figured I’d rarely ever be able to use them, but I just loved them so much when I saw them. Plus, they were priced very reasonably so they lured me in. I’ve been surprised how much I’ve been able to use them. Thanks so much! ♥

  13. How adorable is this??! I love the sheer napkins and the chargers, and Mr. Bunny ain’t too shabby either. Such cuteness. I just can’t stand it!

  14. So pretty, Susan. Of course, the table on your porch is so inviting, even when there is not a tablescape on it. Those chargers are so unique and so pretty, and your “stack” of plates works beautifully on them. Thank you for doing the linkup every week. laurie

  15. What a beautiful Spring setting, Susan! The camellias are gorgeous! I love the soft color combo and the dinnerware is lovely! Thanks so much for hosting!

  16. This table is beautiful, I love the little pails you found at Marshals. The bunny is precious and what a beautiful idea with the napkins. Just grogeous and this table screams spring!!!!

    Cynthia

  17. Happy Spring SuSan !!
Your table is so pretty, love the dishes !
Your plants are already flowering?? It is cold and snowing right now in northern Indiana brrrr.
    Have a lovely day!
    Paula

  18. So many pretty ideas Susan. Thanks for hosting!

  19. Susan, the Sketch floral is so pretty. Just love it with the chargers. It strikes a nice balance. Love the thieving Easter Bunny!!! So cute. A darling table. Thanks so much for hosting.. xo marlis

  20. Oh Susan – I love your pink camellias! All of mine are red, but I would really like to add some pink ones. Your tablescape on the porch is lovely. I enjoyed the way that you mixed all of the plates – those chargers are wonderful! Your bunny is a cutie and looks ready for Easter!

  21. Hi Susan, Your spring table looks so pretty and it would be wonderful to dine out on your porch for Easter. The various plates are great together and I like that you showed other uses for them in previous tablescapes. I wish you a beautiful spring. Pamela

  22. Susan, this is a favorite spring table for me. I have to tell you, I’m very smitten with Mr. Bunny. I like that his basket is perfect for flowers. I need to find one of these. He is perfect for any holiday; just change his bow. LOL Thanks for sharing the inspiration. I think the stack of plates is gorgeous…….both looks. Happy Spring Time, my friend! ~ Sarah

    • Thanks, Sarah! I bought him at the end of summer last year at a shop called The Whimsical Nest. Here’s there info in case you want to check to see if they have any in this year and will ship: 770-420-9444 Hope that number is valid…I found it online. XO

  23. Susan, master tablescape designer, this tablescape is delightful! I love the bunny with the basket. So versatile. The camellias are beautiful and I love the way you placed them around his feet. Dishes and your fabulous napkins are so pretty. Cute tin bucket of eggs too!

  24. Mr. Bunny is so versatile! He looks wonderful holding the gorgeous camellias. I miss the ones in our yard when we lived in Tallahassee! I love the look of your “mixed” stack of plates — so spring-y!

  25. love your Easter settings… and those buckets with the numbers… Love those! Thanks for hosting. Little Bit

  26. Margo Kuhn says

Susan, this is just simply lovely. I so enjoy your blogs. You inspired me so much that I was able to set two very beautiful tables for St. Patricks day. One of my guests was so impressed, she was taking pictures of it, and yes, I did manage to make the clover napin design on the plates on one table. Thanks Susan, for all your great inspiration.

    • Margo, that’s wonderful! It’s so nice when friends and family notice the extra things we do to make a dinner a bit more special. Way to go on the napkins! They threw me for a loop at first, then I finally got the hang of it. Did you find them hard to fold?

  27. Gorgeous table for spring dear Susan! I adore to mix and match china patterns, it’s my fav kind of tablescapes, otherwise it’s boring a little!! I love that big Mr. Rabbit, which is a vase too and you arranged it so beautifully! Thank you for hosting and having me again. Big hugs,
    FABBY

    • Fabby, I so agree! I much prefer them mixed up a little. 🙂 Thanks! I may just have to pull him back out some during the summer months. He will look cute on the porch this summer. XO

  28. Oh so beautiful, Susan! I love spring and I love this tablescape. I love those Spode plates. I have them too and should use them more. The colors are so striking and so versatile. I have used them in the summer, spring and even for a Christmas table….Christine

  29. So pretty! I love the color pallet, it invites spring so well. Thanks so much for hosting. I will be enjoying all of the spring tables everyone has posted.

  30. What a happy Easter table! I love your Mr. Bunny filled with camellias. Thanks for hosting.

  31. This is a lovely table. I love the shade of your camellias: Mr Bunny chose them just right!

  32. Susan,
I am curious about your storage techniques. I do happen to live in an old home that is shy on closet space. I would love to know how you store or organize your seasonal materials. Would you mind sharing that one day? LOVE this week’s tablescapes!

  33. I don’t have a table today, wish I could link up my Easter Kitchen:) All of your tables are beautiful. I love, love those chargers!!! Thanks for all the other links too. I still am looking for napkin sheaths too. Have a wonderful Easter, hope you get to see your son and DIL. XO, Pinky

  34. Hi, Susan – well, Gini too the words out of my mouth! I was just going to ask about your storage space(s) and organization of your seasonal items. Have you written a post about that?

    Love the bunny!
    Kelly

  35. A little pink, a little green, just put a smile on my face. Just lovely.

  36. Thank you for hosting this party! Always so inspiring.

  37. It looks so pretty, Susan. I really like your egg-filled pails.

I hope all is well with you. I’ve missed you.

  38. Hi Susan! I love your pretty Easter table. Love the dishes and I have those Spode chargers and plates too. They’re so sweet. Hope you’re doing well.
    Be a sweetie,
    Shelia 😉

  39. I love your porch and all the pretty tablescapes you do out there. It is such an inspiration and I just adore your Spode chargers. Very colorful and pretty.

  40. Beautiful tablescape, and so spring-like with happy colours! Love your camellias. I planted a very small one foot tall camellia about 4 years ago. It is now four feet tall and I am dancing for joy as it has 3 bloom buds! It has never bloomed yet so fingers crossed we don’t get a cold snap and it will bloom. I don’t even know what colour it is, so it will be a lovely surprise. I am lucky to be able to grow it here. Happy Spring! By the way, where did Mr. Bunny hop in from, he’s adorable. Patty/BC

    • Patty, each year you’ll get more and more blooms. Bet it will be covered up in another couple of years. 🙂 Mr. Bunny hopped in last summer from a little shop in Marietta, GA called The Whimsical Nest. I’m not sure if they have those in this summer or not, but they might. 🙂

  41. Hi Susan, Wow I love your tablescape so much, love the big rabbit, he can be used in so many ways with the place for a plant on his back…I was on quite a quest today, I tried to go to every single blogger that joined your tablescape party and leave a little note…Since I am a tablescaper too, I know all too well how much work is involved in creating and presenting a wonderful table….Thanks for hosting every Thursday….

  42. What a *Happy* tablescape Susan. It is so light and full of Spring. Love the buckets! I have one sitting around in the shed somewhere, that would be an ideal thing for me to paint in the summer.
Your plates are so pretty as is everything.
I took an egg Susan….hope it is hard boiled!! 🙂

  43. Susan, your camellias make me want to go buy a Debutante bush tomorrow..so pretty and so southern….my grandparents had that very camellia in their yard in So Georgia.. and your color palette of pink and green is one of my favorites…thanks for hosting this fun party…
    Love, Mona

  44. So frustrated–can’t link to your party because it says I don’t have a back link–but I do! Oh well, will enjoy looking at the pretty table settings that were able to link up! 🙂

    • Sandy, usually when that happens, it because the link is to my old blog at blogspot.com Right click on your link and copy and paste the link to your address bar to see if it’s for blogspot or the current .net address.

  45. Your tablescapes are always fabulous and I look forward to each Thursday. I notice that you have not done an Easter tablescape in your dining room. I would love to see your dining room decked out for Easter. I know spring usually means the “porch” but your dining room is so lovely, it is always a treat to see it. I always especially enjoy your Thanksgiving and Christmas tablescapes in the dining room.
    Happy Easter!

    • Thanks! 🙂 That’s true…don’t think I’ve ever done one in there. I think it’s mainly because that room is more formal and has red walls and red doesn’t always go with my Easter decorations/dishes as well. Also the lighting in that room is quite challenging, again those red walls! 🙂 I’ll have to think about doing one there sometime. Thanks for that suggestion. Happy Easter to you! ♥

  46. I just love the way you talk about the bunny as if he were real! Too cute!

  47. Thank you so much for hosting again this week. I love the way you brought out the pink hues to celebrate the Easter season!

  48. Susan, the shamrock napkin fold was a bit of a challenge, but it was worth it. It looks so simple and yet the last step seemed to be quite a challenge.

  49. What a gorgeous tablescape!!! I love the bunny 😉

  50. Oh, I just love it all….especially our layered napkins and sweet napkin rings! It is making me want to do another tablescape with my pastel floral dinner plates. I think I’ll have to save them for a summer setting instead and concentrate on packing….only 3 weeks ’til our loading date!

  52. Easter has always been my favorite holiday (tho I despise the muddiness of spring). Your tablescape is stunning and has lit a bit of a fire under my tail feathers to come up with a plan for my own table!

  53. Hello Susan,
Thank you so much for visiting Stockholm. I was a bit late of my answer as I am too busy with my job. As an Acct Manager in one of Sweden’s largest bank, end of the month is a very hectic. That’s the reason sometimes, I just came and checked what you are up to, §:-)
Hope you have an enjoyable w/end with your lovelies and God Bless you all.

    Greetings from freezing Stockholm,
    /CC girl

  54. Just. Beautiful!!!

  55. Joy Sepulva says

Beautiful Spring/Easter table. Love the rabbit…where did you purchase him? Or do you know the manufacture of the rabbit?
    Joy

    • Thanks, Joy. I found Mr. Bunny a few summers ago in a store in Marietta, GA called, The Whimsical Nest. He’s by Marjolein Bastin, a nature artist. You can google her to learn more about her and where her pieces are available. You may want to call The Whimsical Nest to see what they have in for this spring. I doubt they have the same bunny since I bought him a few years back, but maybe they’ll have something just as cute.

  56. I just love this beautiful table and the way everything is done so beautiful and in “pink” i love pink and that bunny i would want to have him at every party i would have! keep your beautiful ideals coming and so glad i have found you.
