Halloween Table and Mantel…Spooky!

Happy Weekend! Are you making final preparations for all the goblins and ghouls who will soon be knocking on your door? I’ll be heading out today to buy candy.  Then I’ll be trying hard to not eat it all by Monday!    What’s your tactic for not digging into the candy and eating it before Halloween arrives? Some folks purposely buy stuff they don’t like, but where’s the fun in that? lol

My friend, Bonnie, has been readying her home for the big day.  I love seeing how Bonnie decorates her dining room hutch for the seasons and holidays.  Come a bit closer and check out her spooky table setting.

Halloween Table Setting

Love the orange candlesticks with skeleton candles.  Even the tablecloth is covered with skeletons!

Halloween Table Setting

A ghoulishly fun centerpiece!  Let’s name him Skelley.   Hope he likes his new nickname.  If he doesn’t I’m telling him it was YOUR idea!

Halloween Table Setting

Skelley is a little on the vain side.  He placed his image on all the dinnerware for your eating enjoyment.

Halloween Table Setting

Here’s you place right here.  Won’t you sit down, if you dare.  Muwhahahaaaaa

Halloween Table Setting

A spider has spun a web to hold your napkin in place.  You may want to use your shirt-tail or sleeve for the evening.  Hahahahahah!

Halloween Table Setting

It’s getting dark…are you skeered, yet?

Halloween Table Setting

Darker still…ooooh.

Halloween Table Setting

Wow, Skelley looks a lot more menacing after dark, doesn’t he?   I think I’ll sit in that chair behind him.  You can sit here in front.  He’d like to talk with you about the name you picked out for him.  😉

After dinner, let’s move into the family room.  You gotta come check out Bonnie’s mantel!

Halloween Table Setting

Bonnie has bats roosting in her mirror, and we’ve awakened them with our visit.

Halloween Decorating

Hope they aren’t vampire bats!  Yikes!

Halloween Decorating

Bonnie, I’m so glad you are still a kid at heart!  I absolutely loved seeing your home decorated for Halloween.  Thanks for inviting us in!

OH! I am so glad she sent you these pics! I asked her to post the table on FB cause she had a mosaic on and I wanted DETAILS!!! LOL! She is always so clever with her decorations. I remember the skull plates from last year too. Love the linens too. Thanks to you both for sharing this!!!! XO, Pinky

  24. Now THAT is a Halloween table to die for…not literally of course! I love the middle pumpkin on the mantle with the lovely teeth.

  25. I have already *sinned* and eaten some of the candies!! 🙂 Don't worry, there are plenty left for the munchkins.
Great Halloween decorations, but I confess to a reluctance for Halloween as I hate spiders. It matters not that they are plastic or fake, it freaks me out that they are everywhere you go on Halloween. I could hardly pay at a checkout this past week as the eight legged monsters were on the counter!!
    Bring on Christmas!!

  26. Susan (Between Naps on the Porch) says

Megan, I'm totally with you on spiders. Don't like those things at all! Whatever you do, don't look at my Halloween tablescape for 2009! You won't like it! Trust me on that! 😉

  27. I love Bonnie's tablescape and the rest of the decorations. Fabulous job Bonnie.

  28. Love, love, love that hutch/baker's rack! And that pineapple chandelier!!!

  29. Pattie @ Olla-Podrida says

  43. Hello, I am looking at Bonnie’s dinning room Halloween decorations and how wonderfully she decorated the room. Question, where did she get the metal/wood dinning room hutch? I think it is so beautiful.
    Thanks,

    • Bonnie Short says

Hi Michelle, I bought the dining set 12 years ago at Joseph Winens, a local furniture store in Medford, OR. It’s since closed, unfortunately. Thank you for your kind words! Happy Halloween!
