Welcome to the 319th Tablescape Thursday!
Please do not link up more than 2 tables each week to the party.
When Elena emailed and shared photos of her Halloween table and decor with me recently, she said, “My theme was Edgar Allan Poe Raven, cluttered elegant Gothic (LOL)—with your batty idea thrown in :0)” That totally made me laugh…I love Elena’s sense of humor!
Check out this spooky, fun display! Notice how the bats look as if they are coming from a long distance away, then they get bigger as they swoop by the mirror, fading away as they fly off into the distance. Isn’t that a hoot?! Or, maybe I should say, a squeak! 😉
Looks like a few have decided to take up residence for a while! 🙂 I think they’ve mistaken the folds in Elena’s curtains for a bat cave! Ha!
Elena decorated and set her Halloween table with her grandson in mind. He’s five years old and don’t you know he is going to LOVE this when he sees it!
Great spiderweb tablecloth!
Love the raven candelabras! They are a right at home with all the other ravens on the table.
Notice the spider candles, so perfect with the spiderweb tablecloth!
Yikes! It’s the headless horseman!
The spiders reappear on the skull appetizer plates.
Elena found the skull glasses in the Dollar store! I love checking out the glassware in the dollar store near me. They always seem to have unusual glasses that are great for special occasions and holidays. At a $1 a glass, you can splurge and collect some really unique glassware to create a great party table without putting a big dent in the budget.
Elena carried her Edgar Allan Poe “Raven” theme over to her mantel. Love the black mantel scarf…just the right amount of creepy!
Thanks so much to Elena for sharing such a fun table and all her Halloween decor!
Elena shared a list of where she found the items she used in her table and her decorating.

If you are participating in Tablescape Thursday, please be sure to add your permalink below, and not your general blog address. To get your permalink, click on your post name, then copy and paste the address showing in the address bar, into the “url” box when you link up.
You’ll need to include a link in your post back to the party to link up and participate. That’s so visitors to your blog will be able to find the party and the other Tablescape Thursday participants. Requiring a link back also prevents businesses from linking up to sell their products. (Yep, that really happens, unfortunately.)
If you would like to use the Tablescape Thursday logo button in your post, just copy and paste it to your computer and upload it to your post as you would any photo.
Please, don’t add your post name/blog name ALL IN CAPS…it tends to create big spaces between the rows of links.
Wowza! That is some Halloween decor!! Love your bats Susan, that is the perfect touch for Elena’s dark theme~her skeleton goblets are too much!! Total creepiness! Thanks so much for the tabletop party!
I like that spiderweb tablecloth and those “flying bats” way too cool! Thanks for sharing this with us 🙂
What spooky fun Susan! Thanks for sharing Elena’s haunted dining room table and mantle!
As an English teacher, I just LOVE this! I did a Poe tablescape last Halloween…this year I’m doing something a little more “mad scientist.”
Thanks so much for the party!! WHat a great post!!
Hugs,
Deb
WOW, loved it all! Those glasses from the Dollar Store were nifty. But I especially got a kick out of those three little kitty cats singing their hearts out oblivious to all the spookiness. Did you notice them? They are on the floor to the left of all the bats. I think they’ve been drinking….and I don’t mean milk. Ha!
LOL They must have a night out on the town! 🙂
Thanks for noticing the kitty-cats! My mom gave me the singing cats figurine a long time ago because she knows I’m a cat lover.
Wow, I love how she incorporated your bat idea. It is so much spookier in the house, especially the curtains!
What a spooktacular setting from your friend, Susan, it’s awesome!
I did a setting which I posted in your party with my grandgirls, which looked simple next to this one!
Thanks for sharing and for the great party.
Hugs,
FABBY
Wow! So festive! Love everything especially the goblets….Christine
Wow what an excellent job she did! Love the bats and the whole theme. She has some great accents- like that headless horseman! Does she have a blog- I didn’t see a link? Looks like there are some great Halloween tables at this party! Thanks for hosting 🙂
No, not yet…but I think she’s thinking about it. 🙂
I don’t have a blog, and I won’t have time to set one up and run it properly until I retire, three and a half years from now. So for now, I’m a full-time professional engineer, busy grandma, and an avid amateur tablescaper. :0) I find Susan’s blog to be very inspiring, so glad I discovered it last spring.
You do a great job Elena! I hope you’ll share more of your talents with Susan!
Wow! Such a creepy table and very creative!
Our teenagers would really like this as they all have had a Poe experience in Lit. class…Edgar Allen knew how to give us all chill bumps, yes? This is very clever.
What a great Halloween setting! This would be such a fun table to enjoy a spooky party!! Thanks so much for hosting again this week!
Wow….very cool, spooky setting!! Love the bats and the mantle cloth……
Elena’s everything is totally fun with all the right pieces for making it work. How could you not smile when you were surrounded by all those spooky things!
How creative to have the bats swooping in and then out by the mirror – and the cute little bats hanging from the curtains!!! 🙂
How fun Susan! I wish Elena would decorate my mom’s dining room like that for our Halloween party on Sunday ;o) Thanks for sharing the haunted dining room table and mantle!
This is one of the most creative and well thought out Halloween displays I’ve seen in a while! Wow! Elena spared nothing!!! The bats, of course, are my favorite feature (even thinking to hang a few upside down!), but that gives me the creeps about going into my attic now!!! 🙂 I’m pretty sure I’ll be armed with a baseball bat and wearing my hockey mask next time I have to go to the attic!!!
The tablescape is really imaginative, too, with the fun mix of ravens and spider webs and skulls…all eerie fun!
I know Elena’s grandson will vote her Best Grandma ever! I know I would!
Lovely as always. The ravens are great. I like how you brought the bats inside from the front porch, especially that little guy who hangs upside down!
Elena didn’t miss a beat with this one! The bats in the curtains, wow!!! Love this post!
Not a beat was missed on this spooky and creative tablescape! Thanks for sharing it with us.
Big Texas Hugs,
Susan and Bentley
Wonderful tablescape! Love it all. What fun it would be to trick-or-treat her! Thanks for hosting.
Sherry
Oh Susan, what a great tablescape of Edgar Allan Poe. Everything works so well together. Even the mantle looks great – also love the crows flying. I also noticed, I think they were three mice down on the floor by the mantle, that really look good.
Thanks so much for sharing this great post. Also thanks for this great party.
Hope all is well with you. Oh also liked Marie’s Halloween decor.
Mary
Now that is just way too cool. Those crows looks three-dimensional coming over that mirror – good job! Thanks for having us, Susan – I’m setting a fall flourish table with an earthy palette from Lenox that coordinates with my Indian sunroom. Happy to be here.
Rita
Susan,
Elena’s table is so clever and creative. Her grandson is going to love it! Her details are incredible with everything setting the mood just like the mood of Poe’s The Raven. Well done, Elena!
Thank you everyone for your very kind words. And thank you, Susan, for constantly inspiring me. :0)
Elena’s tablescape is great! I loved everything. I re-e-e-e-ally love the headless horseman and those raven candlesticks. I am so tempted to go out and buy more Halloween items but my honey would probably shoot me..we just got done spending a lot of time selling and giving away tons of holiday items because our basement was almost to the point of being dangerous to walk through. Holiday decor has always been such a weakness for me…an addiction I’m sure. With all the great blog tablescapes, I feel like I’m going through withdrawal. LOL.
This table and dining room is to die for…no pun intended! Love it all; every detail is perfect for the theme.
Every time I comment, it disappears into the blogosphere somewhere…perfect for Halloween, I guess! Anyway, trying again…love every detail of this table…to die for! Great job…
I would love to show my Halloween Tablescape on your blog. I do not know how. Do you have an easy way to tell me how to do this? Thanks.
Sure! Lisa, just post pics of your tablescape on your blog, then on Thursday, stop by and link up your tablescape post to the Linky party. You’ll find the InLinkz linky button at the the end of the post. Scroll down to the end of this party and you’ll see the button to link up. It’s really easy to link up your table, InLinkz will guide you through that step by step.
I will try that. Thanks for your help!
Kudos to Elena on this wonderful table setting! I would have loved to see the look on her grandson’s face when he saw this. I commented last week, but it disappeared into the blogosphere? Thank you for hosting Susan.
