Lemonade Days

Welcome to the 105th Tablescape Thursday!

It’s still very much summer here in the sunny south…and I’m loving every moment of it. I’m one of those strange people who loves hot weather. Cold weather…not so much.

Since I was really hoping you might be stopping by this evening, I made us some yummy lemonade and cookies. What’s that? You’re wondering about that tripod out on the deck? Shhhh, that’s my top secret, special ops, hummingbird spy station. Either that, or I’m spying on the neighbors. 😉

A few months ago I was shopping in HomeGoods, one of my favorite stores in this big, ole world…and I came across this awesome beverage server. It was super reasonably priced, as most things are at HG.

Wouldn’t it look great with the bottom portion filled with shells for a beach party?

You could use tangerines if you were serving an orange flavored drink.

I think the possibilities for the bottom section are endless. It would be lovely just filled with summer flowers….or how about mini pumpkins for the fall.

Oh, oh, oh…great idea just hit! How about ornaments at Christmas time…with a yummy cranberry punch above! 🙂 I think I’ll have fun trying new things in the bottom.

Soooo, come on over here and grab a lemon-covered glass…

And fill it up with some icey cold lemonade. I’ve saved you a spot right over here on the swing.

Don’t forget the cookies…ya gotta keep your strength up for porch swinging, ya know. 🙂

Happy Sweet Summer, dear friends! Fall will be here soon enough so let’s savor these last warm days out on the porch…every. single. last. one of them.

2-Gallon Beverage Server: By Artland, The Simplicity Collection…found at HomeGoods
Lemon Glasses: Dollar Tree, last summer, I think
Information about the Tabletops, Ma Maison china seen on the hutch can be found HERE. It’s #7 under the Non-Holiday Group and #6 under the Holiday group.

Looking forward to viewing your beautiful tablescapes!

  2. Love your beverage server, Susan, and I feel cooler just looking at that wonderful lemonade! I can see how cold it is from the condensation forming on the outside of the container. Your porch looks so beautiful and inviting.

Thank you for hosting and for making us all feel so welcome and valued. You're, as always, a charming Southern hostess. Keep cool!

    Kindest regards,

  6. SUSAN! That's absolutely adorable! I've never seen a beverage server like that, but what a great idea! You need a beverage server to be elevated, or else the spigot has to hang off the edge–I like this the best of any I've ever seen. And oh, that lemonade looks absolutely wonderful. (Now, if you need a recipe for a Christmas punch that's–how shall I say?–"spirited," let me know. I'll look forward to seeing more of this cute serving piece!

  29. Entertaining Women says

I wonder if you have to eventually put up a sign on your porch that says, "Guests, the time has come for you to go home…now, please.' I'd never want to leave. I think that I saw a spot on the sideboard where I could keep my toothbrush. I use my beverage server for Mimosas or Hibiscus(champagne + cranberry juice) to greet guests as they come in the door for a large party. Great ice breaker and always a hit. Thanks for Tablescape Thursday, once again. I'm having a ball meeting bloggers from all over the world! Cherry Kay

  30. That server is wonderful! I covet it greatly! And your lemonade glasses….and your beautiful porch (sunroom?)
Do you have an empty guest room? If you do, I just might become your new boarder!! LOL!

I promise we'd never fight over the thermostat in summer either!! All cold weather does for me is make me want to hibernate! But warmth?? Ahhhh!

  31. I feel so refreshed after that lemonade! Thanks for another great Thursday!

  32. Melanie @ The Tiny Tudor says

I love the lemonade server- so many possibilities!

  33. Lynne (lynnesgiftsfromtheheart) says

Susan, I love your beverage server. I can think of a dozen ways to use it right off the top of my head. Would be soooo much fun to use through my open house event.. although I already have 2 I really don't need another. However, I don't have the cookies so I will grab a couple of them and take my turn on the swing.. Our temps here are so fall like right now after being in the triple digits. I'm dressing everything from the shop to the house in fall decor…
    many many hugs ~lynne~

  34. I love your beverage server, and your porch looks so inviting.
Today was the first day in at least 2 months that it's been cool enough to even sit outside without suffocating. Finally had temps below 100 and low humidity.

  35. What a great beverage server! Love the lemons along the side…makes me thristy to look at your post! Love the little display/storage area at the bottom too…the options are endless of what you could do with it! Such a great piece to have in your entertaining closet! Beverage servers always catch my eye when I see them! This one you found is really great, and I LOVE lemonade too!!!
For some reason when you were going through your ideas of how else to use it a "goldfish bowl/tank" came to mind, with some cool seashells in it!! Of course you might not want to use it to serve drinks from any more after that…
Ok I think the heat is getting to my brain! Quick lemonade please!!

It's been sooo long since have we have visited Susan, I hope you can stop by soon!!

    Hugs, Sherri:)

  37. Sewconsult says

I am the hostess of the annual Christmas Brunch for the family. I serve a non-alcoholic peach/orange daquari punch. I think it would be fun to put Christmas ornaments in the bottom section. I am going to be looking for this at HG soon. Hope they still have them.
