Let’s Go Antiquing at the Queen of Hearts!

A few weeks before Christmas, I was out running errands and couldn’t resist a stop by the Queen of Hearts. They had their windows so festively decorated for winter. I love it when shops do that!

So cute! Let’s go inside and see what’s new–or maybe I should say, what’s old! lol

I really liked this lamp, just didn’t care for shade. I much prefer my lamps to have either white or cream-colored shades because you get so much more light into the room with lighter shades. Also, the shade looks a bit too high, probably needs a shorter harp. A new shade could really transform this lamp.

Antique Wardrobe with Drawer & Beveled Glass Door, $599: I love a beautiful antique wardrobe! If I live in an older home or even a new home that didn’t have enough closet space, I would love to supplement my closet space with one of these beauties!

Where would you ever find this gorgeousness in today’s furniture?

Antique Cherry Wardrobe with Brass Handles, $975: Another gorgeous wardrobe! Love!

Wicker Bar Cart, $299: I don’t know why I’m always drawn to bar carts. I think I just want one so I have an excuse to decorate it. lol

The day I visited the Queen of Hearts that’s near my home (they have a few locations) an artist was at work in his booth creating a new painting. I would love to have just stood there and watched him work.

Here’s a zoomed-in photo of the image he was painting. I wonder if it was commissioned by the owner of the home or if it’s just a home he loved and wanted to paint.

8 Kings Crown Cups, $23: I thought the price for these was excellent! Would be beautiful for serving a Christmas or New Year’s punch.

Antique Burled Walnut, 2-Piece Linen Press, 1,350 Another beautiful wardrobe…this one had a damaged spot that I bet could be repaired.

What do you think–do you think a good craftsman could repair this?

I love the feet on this piece!

Antique French Dresser, $485: Beautiful dresser! I love the handles, the detailed roping design, the inlay, and that gorgeous book-matched, burl wood!

Antique French Dresser/Buffet, $425  (49 wide x 20-1/2 deep x 35-3/4 tall): This was the matching dresser–a gorgeous piece! I took note of the measurements to see if it would work beside the bed in my bedroom, but it’s a bit too wide.

These snowglobes were so pretty! Antiquing is so much fun during the Christmas holidays, I love seeing all the Christmas goodies.

Beautiful linens and teatowels. I shared these the last time I visited The Queen of Hearts.

Some of the many pretties I saw tucked into cabinets…

Christmas china…

A beautiful fireplace mantel… When I see a beautiful overmantel like this, I always wonder about the home where it must have originally been.

Rocket Plane Sled, $85 Sleds are so much fun to decorate with at Christmastime or during the winter. This sled would be cute hanging in a mudroom for winter!

Alexander Magazine Holder, $195 This was labeled as a magazine holder but I was thinking these were originally created to hold music. Seems like magazines would be too slouchy to stand up in one of these. I love it though–would just find a different use for it, I think.

Festive Christmas china…

The sign said, “Windsor by Gibson, Set of 7 with Chop Plate, Serving Bowl, Dinner and Salad Plates, Bowls, Teacups, $130.”

A closer view…

Woodland Toile Plates, Andrea by Sadek, $19.99 each. Pretty plates!

A peek into some of the other booths…

I spotted a few antique Copeland Spode Tower dinner plates on this table.

You may remember seeing it in some of the tables I’ve shared in the past.

See you tomorrow for Tablescape Thursday!

  1. Susan,
You must visit Covington, GA, it has beautiful antebellum homes and so many movies have been filmed here. They have tours around town of the Vampire Diaries and places they film. Nice place to spend a day or two.

ooooh, this was SO FUN!!! I adore “burled”…so regret having to leave my burled armoire behind when we sold our Tudor…just no room in a cabin…sob… You have an “eye”.. as they say. franki

I really enjoyed today’s post, and the prices in this shop seem very reasonable.

Thank you for “taking me shopping”! I love antique stores. I could spend hours in them – the sled is awesome!

  8. Good Morning, Susan!

I am going to be visiting my son in Smyrna this weekend and would love to go to the Queen of Hearts shop. Would you please email me the address?
    Thanks 🙂

    • Susan, here’s a listing for all three locations: https://www.queenofheartsantiques-interiors.com/
I think the one in Marietta would be closer for you but the one in Alpharetta seems a lot bigger to me. Also, I’ve had better luck when shopping there. The large chandelier in my bedroom came from that location. They may be a bit more expensive at that location though I did get a great deal on the chandelier.
I’ve never been to the one in Buford so not sure about it.

  9. Those snow globes! I’ve never seen any other than the classic orb. The phone booths were so cute. How did you not get the pickup truck one?! You march right back there and take that one home!

I love seeing pictures of Queen of Hearts finds. Makes me wish I had one out here. But I live in So. California and it’s hard to find quality antiques.

  11. I love Queen of Hearts. I visit the one on Sandy Plains when I get back home to Marietta. My daughter shops there often. I wish there was something like this near me in Pennsylvania. Happy New Year!

  12. Thanks for the fun post on one of my favorite hobbies, shopping for antiques. I hope to resume my hobby some day when I can again to it safely.

  13. Susan, thanks for your fun tour of Queen of Hearts! It spurs me to plan to go there again soon. Visits there seem like an adventure… maybe it’s the “thrill of the hunt”? 🙂

  14. Oh my, so many gorgeous pieces you showed us Susan! We have a place like that here too. I haven’t been in it in a long while, need to go and have a lot around! Love places like this as you don’t know what you will find. lol Hugs, Brenda

  15. I really like the way the exterior windows were painted for Christmas. I agree with about lampshades; I use light-colored ones, too, so they emit more light. I have my sled from when we lived in Germany when I was a child. I used it at Christmas to decorate.

  16. That is all absolutely beautiful furniture and items, Wow!! Thank you for sharing your visit to that shop!!

  17. What a fun post! I LOVE going through antique stores and realized it’s been a long time since I’ve gone exploring! I think a trip is in my near future!

  18. Kathleen Workman says

Susan does that fabulous antique store have an online store? It has individual booths, so I’m thinking it would be too complicated. I saw several items that caught my interest and like you I thought the prices for the dressers were good. We hesitate to travel due to compromised immune systems:otherwise a trip to your area in warm weather would be fun and productive for my decorating soul but not my wallet! I do love to read your blog. Your house speaks to my interior designer brain and your product recommendations have proven to be very helpful for this long time subscriber. Bless you and have a peaceful new year.

  19. The prices on some of that stuff! So reasonable. Those snow globes!! I have never seen any like that before. I particularly love the train and English phone box. Would love to have them. And I’ve loved tea carts since I was a little girl. I always saw them in movies and thought they were just the cat’s pajamas and couldn’t wait to have one when I grew up. And then I finally did get one, maybe 20 years ago now. Anyway, I never quite knew what to do with it. I ‘had to have it,’ but then couldn’t quite fit into my home and design scheme. I finally hit on the idea to use it on the back porch and has worked out great there. Funny how something can make such an impression on us in our childhood that we carry that through all our lives. 🙂

  20. Susan, it is always fun to tag along when your shop Queen of Hearts. I think you need that wicker bar cart. I also like the turkey tureen in the last image. I have the small pheasant piece like this and am searching for the larger pheasant tureen. If you happen to see one when out vintage shopping, please let me know. Happy New Year!
