Sometimes It’s The Little Tweaks That Make Life Better

Welcome to the 727th Metamorphosis Monday! Happy New Year to you! I hope your 2023 is off to an awesome start! Apparently, I’m trying to repeat the start of 2018 as I began the year with a yucky virus. I came down sick on Saturday and I think I’m finally past the body ache and fever stage. Unfortunately, I had to postpone the drywall work that was supposed to start in the basement tomorrow. So I don’t have a big Before/After for this week, but I do have a small update to share that is making my life much easier. Several years back I purchased special hangers that are designed for holding sweaters.

Flexible Hangers for Sweaters

I fold all my pull-over style sweaters but prefer to hang my cardigans and longer duster-style sweaters. The only thing I wasn’t crazy about with these hangers is how the gray part that you hang the sweater on has a tendency to spin around. I have no idea why it was designed that way. It made it rather annoying to hang a sweater on. I like that the hanger hook itself spins but just didn’t like having the thicker foam body of the hanger spinning around inside the white plastic part each time I tried to rehang a sweater.

Hangers Designed for Cardigans

So what did I do? I glued it in place. I just squirted some fast-drying, strong glue underneath the white plastic section, between the white plastic and the gray part of the hanger. So far, it’s working great! I no longer have to deal with it spinning each time I try to hang one of my sweaters back up. I wanted to share this quick fix with you in case you purchased any of the sweater hangers back when I first shared them. I need to buy a few more because I do love how they work for hanging cardigans.

If you are in need of a cozy sweater for winter, I just noticed the long, cashmere, cardigan sweaters like the ones I love are currently on sale 50% off. Apparently, the sale is also good on all their “chunky” sweaters. That sounds so good to me right now because all my body craves at this moment is to be swaddled in cozy warmth! You’ll find the sale for both men’s and women’s sweaters here: 50% Off Sweater Sale.  The long cardigan sweaters that I love are available 50% off here: 50% off Long Cardigan and Chunky Cozy Sweaters.

If you’re in need of sweater hangers, you’ll find those here: Sweater/Cardigan Hangers and here: Sweaters Hangers.

We pretty much steered clear of gatherings and crowds this season because of all the flu and viruses going around. Hope you’re feeling better soon and can get back to work on your drywall project. Thanks so much for hosting each week!!

I am praying for your speedy recovery! None of that nonsense that viruses do where they stick around like an unwelcome intruder for several weeks! I hope you have sunshine where you are because I do believe that is the very best medicine. Sit in the sunshine.
Your hanger fix is a triumph! I love it when we can solve a problem on our own. Yes, sometimes it really IS the little things that annoy us, and when they are fixed, it is such a boost. Take care!
    p.s.—really good pizza is medicinal!

    • This one is def trying to hang around. I finally went to the doctor today.
lol I like your idea of pizza! I lost my appetite for a bit but it’s coming back now.

  8. I am sorry you are not feeling well. I had a crummy start to the new year too. We were away for a few weeks over the holiday. We returned home yesterday to discover our refrigerator failed. We had to throw out everything but, even worse, the refrigerator and freezer were filled with small flies. Perhaps thousands of them. What a clean up mess we had. We bought a replacement refrigerator freezer sight unseen because we needed to get it delivered right away. Hopefully I will like the new one. I hope you feel better soon and the new year improves for both of us.

    • Oh no! That is not what you want to come home too. I’m so so sorry that happened, Lin! And then to have to deal with flies. Argggh! I hope you like your replacement fridge!

  9. Hope you feel better soon! Happy New Year!
