We’re Off On A Seaside Vacation For This Week’s Tablescape Thursday!

Welcome to the 721st Tablescape Thursday!

How is your week going? I’m knee-deep in all things painting right now.

Garage during painting

The garage ceiling was painted yesterday and the painting continues today.

Garage Painting, Ceiling Done

But enough about painting, I have a fun, beachy table to share this week and it’s coming to us all the way from France! Norma, a lovely BNOTP reader who has become a friend via email over the past few years, lives in the beautiful French countryside. During the spring and summer months, she enjoys having friends over for outside dinners. This time she planned a wonderful luncheon for friends. The fun started here at this smaller table where everyone enjoyed “nibbles and drinks before lunch.”

Small Table for enjoying appetizers

After a few appetizers and drinks, the luncheon party had only to follow the sign to locate their next dining spot. Norma made this wonderful sign several years back. I love how rustic it looks–like it’s been through many years of hot sun and salty sea air.

Norma also made festive bunting in a seaside theme using various nautical designs. Do you see it there in the background?

Beachy Luncheon Table Setting

Interspersed throughout the bunting you’ll spot a nautical flag featuring shorebirds and sailboats riding the ocean waves.

Norma said this particular flag is her favorite and I think it’s my favorite, too! I love that scene and it makes me so wish I was at the beach right now!

Let’s take a closer look at this wonderful, seaside-themed table!

Seaside Luncheon Table Setting

Norma decorated her table with a bit of sand for that true beachy feel. Some of the shells were collected on the beach in Dubai. I would love to visit there one day, have heard so much about it.

Norma shared, “The lighthouse and the boats came from a car boot sale.”

Beach Decorations for Luncheon

I like how the rocks look displayed inside the lantern. It looks like a ship has become stranded atop the rocks! I think it’s just waiting for the tide to come back in so it can float back out to sea. 🙂

I love these cute starfish plates! Norma said, “The little starfish entrée plates and the large shell plates I found on French eBay several years ago, while the turquoise glass ones were from our local supermarket.” That gorgeous aqua color is one of my favorites for summer. It’s sooo stunning paired with white.

Starfish Appetizer and Salad Plates

A beautiful shell plate in a deep rich nautical blue and white–sooo pretty! Does this have you craving a beach trip? It definitely has me thinking about how I can fit one in before the end of summer!

Blue and White Shell Plates

Whimsical, nautical-themed decorations are scattered throughout this fun seaside-themed table! These are my favorite tables of all–so many little surprises to discover!

What a wonderful way to spend a sunny afternoon! Thanks so much to Norma for taking us away on this mini seaside vacation!

  8. Oh, I would dearly love a seaside vacation right now! Thanks, Norma, for giving me a taste of the beach. I love those beautiful blue stemware glasses . Such a gorgeous shade! And I also love all the little details, like the sand, starfish, and shells on the table, the little boats, and even the sand in the candle holders. Nice attention to detail, Norma! The glass turquoise plates look so lovely and beachy with the dark blue and white of the sand dollar plates.

She picked a beautiful day for her dinner party. I bet her guests got a kick out of proceeding from one spot to another. And that sign does look just as you described, Susan. Norma always has such pretty tables and makes her guests feel so welcome. Wish I was one of them! Thanks to both of you.

  9. Looks like the painting is going well Susan! Can’t wait to see the reveal. I love Norma’s beach side table setting!! It is gorgeous! It really does make one want to go to the beach. lol Love her flag banner, I am in love with the beach scene on the one flag. I don’t like getting in the ocean, but I sure do love sitting and watching the ocean waves crashing the shore, all the sights and sounds are so soothing. Not to mention the breezes. Yep, Norma has me wanting a beach vacation. lol Hugs, Brenda

  10. I do love seeing Norma’s beautiful backyard tablescapes. Inspired to find a lighthouse for my lantern now.

Loved all the nautical details, especially the lighthouse inside the lantern. I definitely need some more beach time this summer! Going to work hard on fulfilling that wish! Yard work can wait, ha!
