My Waterford “12 Days of Christmas” Flute Collection Just Grew A Little
September 11, 2025 27 Comments

Welcome to the 885th Tablescape Thursday! Many, many years ago, guessing it's been over 15 years now, I was walking through the china/crystal department in Dillard's Department store in Perimeter Mall in Atlanta. It was the Christmas season, and the store was bustling with excited, happy shoppers. The china department was no different, with shoppers lined up behind the checkout desk, arms filled with goodies, and sales clerks working as fast as they could to help … [Continue Reading...]
Shopping The Fall Clothing Sales & Found Some Amazing Deals
September 10, 2025

I love shopping the fall sales, and there are some really great ones happening right now. I started working on this post yesterday, and unfortunately, the sale appears to be ending today. If I didn't already have so many spring-style raincoats, I would have to get this one. I love the floral design! So fresh and pretty with yellow and white tulips. This jacket was $159.95, but now it's on sale for $95.97 with the code STARLIT at checkout. You'll … [Continue Reading...]
Unique, Beautiful Wallpaper That I’m Considering For My Small Mudroom
September 8, 2025 50 Comments

Welcome to the 867th Metamorphosis Monday! A few months ago, I chose this whimsical wallpaper for the 1/2 bath that's located on the main level of the Dollhouse. Why haven't I had it installed yet? There are two reasons: Reason #1. The wallpaper installer requested I choose the white paint he'll need for the lower half of the wall, and I don't really have a good way to match to the existing white trim in this room. Unfortunately, there's no great … [Continue Reading...]
My August Favorites, Plus The Movie Room Got A New Layout For Game Days
September 6, 2025 25 Comments

We had our first "Game Day" in the movie/game room last weekend. Usually, when I share this room, the sectional sofa is in this configuration. Since there were more of us watching the game than normal, I broke out the various sections to spread out the seating. The younger ones (my grandsons) mostly played games on their iPads or played ping-pong out in the driveway. I kinda like the seating this way. It definitely makes the space … [Continue Reading...]
Celebrating Turning 40 With A Very Special Bee-Themed Birthday Tea Party
September 4, 2025 13 Comments

Welcome to the 884th Tablescape Thursday! A few months back, Selma, whose beautiful tea parties I've shared in the past, graciously hosted a wonderful tea party for a friend celebrating her 40th birthday. In a recent post, I shared the Napoleon Bee flatware that I enjoy using so much here at the Dollhouse. It had just gone on sale for an incredible price, prompting me to purchase a second set. Several BNOTP readers jumped on that amazing sale, including Selma, who … [Continue Reading...]
Great Dresser, But It Has 2 Defects That May Be Fixable. Welcome Your Suggestions!
September 1, 2025 35 Comments

Welcome to the 866th Metamorphosis Monday! I hope you are enjoying some rest this Labor Day weekend. We had a fun game day here and chowed down on City Barbecue at halftime. Georgia won 45 - 7, so that was a great game to kick off our very first game day in the movie/game room. For this week's Met Monday, I'm sharing a new addition to my bedroom: a large dresser I put together a few weeks. I purchased this dresser as a temporary piece since I'm not … [Continue Reading...]
Tomorrow Is Game Day! Here’s What I’ll Be Serving & How I’m Setting Things Up In The “Game” Room
August 29, 2025 19 Comments

Happy Labor Day weekend! Do you have any special plans this weekend? This weekend, the Dollhouse movie room will be turned into a game-viewing room. I have family, along with a few Georgia fans, coming over for the first Georgia game of the season. I know very little about football, but tomorrow should be a fun day. This post is a bit late to be sharing for games that are happening tomorrow, but I thought I'd share a few of the … [Continue Reading...]
Replacing My Older, Smaller Napoleon Bee Flatware, Plus A New Dinnerware Purchase.
August 28, 2025 18 Comments

Welcome to the 883rd Tablescape Thursday! Many, many years ago, I'm guessing 12-15 years ago, I came across Napoleon Bee flatware on the Neiman Marcus website. I had never seen this flatware before and was immediately smitten. That may have been around the time it was first in production, not sure. It happened to be on sale, but even on sale it was quite expensive. After it arrived, I was dismayed to find that several pieces were defective. I've thrown all those out … [Continue Reading...]
Taking Stock Of Winter Must-Haves Since A Blast Of Polar Air Came Down For A Visit
August 27, 2025 12 Comments

When I awoke this morning, it was 53° outside. I actually turned on the heat in my office for a few minutes to take the chill out of the air. Afterward, I pulled out one of my winter hoodies to wear. Just before turning in last night, I came across a video online where the weather guy was saying that the reason it feels like October in August in so many areas is due to an "upper-level trough coming from the Canadian Arctic, dragging polar air into the U.S." He added … [Continue Reading...]
Hanging Doors, Where Does That Laundry Chute End? Lots Checked Off The To-Do List!
August 25, 2025 19 Comments

Welcome to the 865th Metamorphosis Monday! How was your weekend? I hope it was awesome! It's been so nice here during the day, the kind of weather that makes you want to get outside for a walk. I managed to get a walk in with family, but mostly I was inside all day Saturday and part of Sunday since I had a handyman here making 7 different repairs. Some of the repairs were small things like adding a small piece of trim in a spot where it was missing, or tightening … [Continue Reading...]
