Planning Ahead for Autumn-Fall Dining and Entertaining

Welcome to the 671st Tablescape Thursday!

Thanks for all your input on yesterday’s post and all the wonderfully kind comments you left! Those are much appreciated and it’s so nice to know that many of you still love the classic design styles as much as I do. If you ever wonder if you’re alone in your love for traditional, classic decor, check out the comments left on yesterday’s post HERE and you’ll find that you are definitely not alone. ♥

I wasn’t home earlier in the week so didn’t have access to my china/dishes. So today, I thought it would be fun to see what’s coming out for Autumn 2021 dining and entertaining. Hopefully, we won’t have a fall like we did last year and will be able to get together with friends and family a lot more this fall!

Whenever I use these little pumpkin soup tureens in a table setting, I always get questions about those. Mine were from Pier 1 many years ago.

A Fall Table with Pumpkin Soup Tureens and Autumn Leaf Dinnerware

Pottery Barn is stocking these adorable pumpkin soup bowls for this fall and they are already available online.

The large tureen is lidded which is great for helping the soup stay warm during the meal in case anyone would like seconds.

These pumpkin soup bowls and the larger soup tureen can all be found here: Autumn Pumpkin Dinnerware.

These pumpkin mugs in orange are sooo cute. They are available here: Pumpkin Mugs.

I think these are my fave–love the zig-zag design reminiscent of Charlie Brown’s shirt. These can be found here: Charlie Brown Pumpkin Mugs.

If you’re a Charlie Brown fan, they also have these adorable salad plates. They would also be perfect as dessert plates paired with the Charlie Brown mugs above. You’ll find them here: Charlie Brown Salad-Dessert Plates.

For autumn, I really love this harvest pumpkin set, the colors are beautiful! Gorgeous design! These are available here: Harvest Pumpkins Dinnerware.

There are two style charger plates I use a lot during the fall. One is the bark-edged charger seen below. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find these in stock online. Maybe they will get them back in soon. I really enjoy using them in autumn and winter tables!

Red Flatware for Autumn Fall Dining

The other charger I use a lot during the autumn and winter is this warm-brown rattan charger. They really work well in any fall table setting.

They transition nicely into Christmas, too!

If you don’t yet own brown, rattan, charger plates, you’ll find these available here: Rattan Charger Plate.

I’m eyeing a set of these in this light rattan color because I’ve been wishing I had a rattan or woven charger to pair with my beachy/nautical dish designs for summer. I think these would pair nicely with blues, aquas, and the summery colors you often find in beach or summer dinnerware sets. Yup, I think I need a set of these! They are currently still available here: Natural Rattan Chargers.

Of the autumn/Thanksgiving dinnerware sets I found online, this is def one of my faves. I love the rich, autumn colors and of course, the waterfowl/bird design! You’ll find this set available here: Thanksgiving Dinnerware

Not table-related, but I noticed the pumpkin pillows have been brought back again this year! I tried to control myself last year and just purchased one–the cream white pumpkin. But later in the season I succumbed and bought them all. I just love them!

Cozy Fuzzy Pumpkins for Fall and Halloween

I move them all around my home during the fall season…sometimes in the upstairs living room…

…sometimes in the guest room…

…and sometimes they even end up as a centerpiece in the middle of an autumn tablescape.

I seriously doubt they will be back again next year because it’s rare to even see something back a second year. So if you love them, don’t wait too late in the season to order them. Currently, they are all available here: Pumpkin Pillows.

I’m actually starting to get a little excited for fall! I think I need a trip to Hobby Lobby, just to see what they are getting in for autumn and the Christmas holidays. It’s never too early to start planning!

Looking forward to all the wonderful table settings linked for this week’s Tablescape Thursday!

  1. Fall is my favorite time of the year, and I have way more dinnerware, flatware, and stemware than I probably should. I love revisiting your previous table settings. They are so inspirational.

  2. I love fall, and am happy to get a “sneak peek” of the new tableware for the season. I especially love the pumpkin mugs! Thanks for sharing this inspiration.

  3. Hmmm. There may be some pumpkin pillow succumbing in my future, too. LOL!

  4. I am in a Facebook group called ‘Beautiful Table Settings’, and it always makes me think of you and all your lovely china and dishes, etc. Have you seen it? Thanks for making my Thursdays even more lovely.

  5. I’m really looking forward to fall this year, too! I’ve already been browsing online, combing through the various options. I bought my wooden chargers from a dealer on Etsy who hand cut them. Not sure if they still are selling, but readers may find options there.

  6. Love the pumpkins and the pumpkin mugs!!

The plate with the buck with birds in it’s antlers. . . no link? My kids would love that plate.

I’ve been looking forward to fall since June!! 🙂

I live in California and its so hot, its hard to think of fall

  10. Hard to think about Fall? Try being in Phoenix where yesterday it was 114! I too love “fall”, even if it means our temps only drop to just below 100 and there are no trees changing color! I still get out all my pretties and decorate my house….makes me happy.

Oh, I’m still enjoying summer and spent the entire afternoon at the beach, the water was so refreshing! Loved jumping the waves! Hehe. I enjoy my lighthouse dishes for August with my version of the shell chargers you inspired me to make. They always bring a smile. Yes, fall is just around the corner and I will enjoy putting out and using all my pumpkin dishes. They were my husband’s favorite. So fun dressing the yard / garden beds in pumpkins, Indian corn and bales of hay. Thankful for each day and each season bringing its own beauty.

  12. On a side note, Going to Kettering for two weeks!! So excited
