Sailing With The Scotts: Sharing All The Details

Welcome to the 356th Metamorphosis Monday!

For this week’s Met Monday, I could share the wreaths I hung across the front of the house yesterday as my metamorphosis, but since Drew and Jonathan (the Scott Brothers) are the masters of Before and Afters, in honor of all their past makeovers, let’s go “Sailing with the Scotts” this week instead.

Sailing With the Scotts To Key West and Cozumel

This was the ship the Scott Brothers chartered for our design cruise. I’m not sure how many folks it normally holds, but there were at least 2,000 fans aboard for the design cruise.

Ship Docked in Key West for Sailing With The Scotts

I’m going to be completely honest with you…the ship itself felt really dated.

Carnival Ecstasy Sailing with the Scotts

The fastest internet service they offered was $60 for the 3 1/2 days we were on board, and it was really, really slow. It was fine the first day before everyone began using it. After that it was only good for reading emails or accessing a website to read. Sometimes it didn’t work at all. It took a gazillion tries all throughout the day to upload a single picture to Instagram. Usually, I just gave up and ended up using the wi-fi in a restaurant while we were docked.

After a few days of staring at walls like this all throughout the ship, I began to wonder who designs the interior of cruise ships. I couldn’t help but wonder what all the designers on this cruise thought about the decor. 🙂 This type wall treatment was throughout all the staircases on all the floors of the ship. The carpet was just as colorful as you can see in the photo above. Is this type decor normal for all cruise ships these days? I was not a fan of the food, although the dinners were good.

Walls

Now for the good stuff! Before boarding the ship, we were given a canvas HGTV bag which contained a “Sailing With The Scotts” beach towel, a water bottle and an HGTV magazine.

Sailing With The Scotts Goody Bag

In the materials we received before the trip, folks were encouraged to decorate their cabin doors. In the collage below are five doors I saw that were really cute. There were many, many more decorated all throughout the ship. I’m not sure who won the door contest.

Sailing With The Scotts Door Contest

Shortly after boarding the ship, a “setting sail” party was held on the Lido Deck.

Sailing With The Scotts Sailing Party

It was super crowded and I had trouble getting close to the stage. I was able to zoom in to get a few pictures. You can see Jonathan, Drew, their brother, JD, Contractor, Writer, and Actor, Jason Cameron, Designer Jillian Harris from Love It or List It-Vancouver, Designer Kim Myles, Amie Sikes from the Junk Gypsy TV show, artist Jared Emerson and actor/comedian, Heath Arthur.

Sailing With The Scotts Celebrities

Cameramen were everywhere and in the photo below, Drew is dancing for one of the cameras.

Drew Scott Dancing, Sailing With The Scotts

JD participated and was very active on the tour, always greeting and talking with the fans. He genuinely appeared to enjoy meeting and talking with anyone who approached him throughout the trip.

Jonathan and Drew were the same way, spending as much time as they possibly could meeting and mingling with everyone on the ship. They were always out somewhere on the ship talking with fans. You never knew when you would bump into them or where they might pop up next.

While shopping in the “Scott Store” on the ship, I ran into Drew and mustered up the nerve to ask if I could have a picture with him. Of course, he graciously agreed without hesitation.

I didn’t have to tell him how my camera worked for photos and he had no trouble using it. I bet he and Jonathan have seen every camera known to mankind with all the selfies they were asked to take. Is it still called a selfie when two of you are in the picture? lol

If you follow BNOTP on Instagram, you saw this picture in real-time when I shared it right after it was taken. Do I look starstruck or what?! lol By the way, I have not photoshopped this picture. or edited it…only cropped it to cut out a guy in the back who major photobombed the pictures. So, I have no idea why my eyebrows look so weird. Even Drew’s eyebrows look strange.

Drew Scott, Sailing With The Scotts Cruise

Drew and Scott had to have been completely exhausted by the end of the cruise because they were always out and about spending as much time with their fans as possible. When they weren’t running around the ship, they were at all the scheduled photography sessions getting their photo taken with fans, or on stage giving a presentation.

Every time I saw them, they were working. My respect for them grew even more on this trip. Their work ethic is unbelievable and their sincere appreciation for their fans is always evident. They said several times that they take none of their success for granted and that’s exactly how they came across. They know it’s their fans that have gotten them where they are today, and they were truly giving back as much as they could every moment of the cruise.

Sailing With The Scotts Tour with JD

I’ve never seen any of Jason Cameron’s TV shows but he was a lot of fun on the trip. He has a great personality and was really funny.

James Cameron, Sailing With The Scotts Cruise

ET from Canada was there, which makes sense since Jonathan and Drew are from Canada. Surprisingly the majority of the renovations Drew and Jonathan do are in the U.S. I think Drew said only 40% of the renovations take place in Canada.

ET Canada on Sailing with Scotts Cruise

I enjoy watching Jillian Harris on the show, Love It or List It. I also follow her on Instagram and Snapchat, so it was fun hearing her talk. Folks asked her a lot of questions about the Love It or List It show and she was happy to answer them.

Don’t you love her shoes! During the question and answer time at the end of her presentation, I came sooo close to raising my hand and asking her where she got those cute shoes. When I got home, I googled and found them online and on sale here: Studded Pump in Blue

Jillian Harris Speaking at Sailing With The Scotts Cruise

I did work up my nerve to ask for a photo along with all the others who lined up for the same. All the designers on board were happy to take photos with anyone who asked.

Jillian and Susan, Sailing with the Scotts

During another one of the “design sessions” I attended, five designers each gave a presentation. These designers were all about as different from each other in style and design as you can be.

Part way through the show, I noticed how very different their shoes were, too. Their shoes seemed like such a great metaphor for just how varied their design styles were so I had to zoom in and snap a photo. Do you recognize any of the designers from their footwear?

Designer Shoes

Here they all are…Jason Cameron…he has a great sense of humor and it was fun hearing how he got into acting and being in TV shows.

Jason Cameron, Sailing With The Scotts Cruise

Sisters, Amie and Jolie Sikes from the show, Junk Gypsy. They were really cute, I liked them a lot.

Junk Gypsy, Amie and Jolie Sikes, Sailing With The Scotts

This was Jillian Harris from Love It or List It, Vancouver. I don’t know why, but it seemed to me like Jillian got all the hard questions from the audience. The other designers were all getting these super easy questions, then it would be Jillian’s turn and she would be asked some complex design question. I thought she handled herself beautifully.

Jillian Harris, Sailing With The Scotts Cruise

The designer on the end is Kim Myles. I watch so little TV, I wasn’t familiar with her but she was HGTV’s Design Star in 2007 and is currently appearing on OWN in a show called Home Made Simple. She was funny and very down-to-earth.

Jason Camerson, Amie Sikes, Jillian Harris, Jolie Sikes, Kim Miles, Sailing with the Scotts Cruise

There was always a show each evening and during the first show of the week, Drew and Jonathan shared a lot of fun information about their show, The Property Brothers.

Drew Scott Answers Questions on Sailing With The Scotts Cruise

They tried to dispel some of the myths and rumors folks hear about the show, so that was really interesting. Some of the tidbits they shared were:

  • The renovations really do take place under the time constraints given on the show.
  • Homeowners are truly working under a set budget but they get a break on some things. For example, Jonathan gets contractor prices on everything he buys and he passes that savings down to the homeowners. Also, homeowners don’t pay for the work Jonathan does. I wasn’t sure about the other contractors but just checked the FAQ section on their site and it says that homeowners don’t pay for any labor.
  • Jonathan and Drew admitted that they have had homeowners they found difficult to work with and who really pushed their buttons.
  • I think they said they do something like 65 renovations a year. That’s more than one per week! So, they have multiple renovations going on all throughout the year.

Jonathan and Drew on Sailing With The Scotts Cruise

Their brother, JD joined them toward the end of their presentation when they sat down to answer the audience’s questions.

Drew, JD and Jonathan, Sailing With The Scotts Cruise

They all truly, truly appeared to enjoy the interaction with the audience. You can see it on their faces. Such nice guys!

Sailing With The Scotts, Scott Brothers Answer Questions

I videotaped just a couple of minutes at the opening party for the cruise. I couldn’t videotape for too long because it would drain my phone’s battery quickly and I was worried about blocking the view of others behind me if I kept my arms up in the air for too long. Hope you enjoy the part I did capture.

I’m looking forward to sharing Ernest Hemingway’s Key West House, some of the other sights around Key West and the Mayan Ruins in Tulum, Mexico (Yucatan Peninsula) in future posts.

Looking forward to all the wonderful Before and Afters for this Metamorphosis Monday!

  1. Not all cruise lines decorate like that but Carnival is famous for that wacky style. I’ve been on 15 cruises so I know that some lines are nicer than others, and have much better food. 😉 Looks like you had a blast though. Thanks for hosting and hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving.

  2. How ironic that a ship full of designers/decorators was in such shape. Seems it might make a good before/after show to redesign. You did a good job capturing the cruise. Can’t wait to see photos of Key West next.

    • I was thinking the same thing as I walked around. Maybe Carnival cruises is going for the “carnival” theme and they decorate this way on purpose.

  3. I can’t believe there is even such a thing as a design cruise, AND with all the HGTV stars?? How lucky you are! Thanks for sharing!

    • This was the very first year they’ve had this. We’ll have to wait to see if they do it again next year.

    • Oh, I should add, anyone could go. In fact, I don’t think they filled up the ship. The last month or so, they were offering a “buy one, get one free” deal. If I had known they were going to do that, I definitely would have waited to register. Several folks on the ship had taken advantage of that deal to come with a friend.

  4. Wow Susan – what a year you’ve had !
This sounds like so much fun – I love those boys – we have some great designers here in the ” north ” Sarah Richardson who I also love – and of course Cindy Olson ( I adore her ) they have to head to the States for branding to make it – due to our population being a tenth of yours !!!
Thanks so much for another great party – this produces the most traffic for me out of any that I link up to – so I appreciate it more than I can say
Have a wonderful week – where you off to now lol ???
    xoxo

  5. Looks like you are having a blast! So happy for you…well deserved!

  6. Thanks so much for hosting!
    Happy Thanksgiving!!

    Hugs,
    Deb

  7. Well, it sounds like your ship does need a giant update. Can you imagine the conversation between all those designers while they were staring at the wall? 😉 I love traveling vicariously through you. Where are we going next? Thanks for the party, Susan and Happy Thanksgiving!!

  8. Susan, thanks for hosting, and sharing about your trip. I love Jonathon and Drew! What a great opportunity! Also not a fan of the ship’s decor!

  9. Super fun! Loved reading about it,
    Deb

  10. Well, I’m glad you had some highlights of your trip, even though there were some minor disappointments. I don’t think I am cut our for cruise-style travel, but I certainly enjoy seeing the pros and cons through trustworthy and honest eyes. Wondering how you feel, overall, after this very busy season of fall traveling. Would you do all this again, similarly scheduled?
As always, thank you for hosting us here at Met Monday.
    Rita

    • Yeah, I only did this one because it was a design cruise and included Drew, Jonathan and Jillian…three designers I enjoy watching on TV. I feel great! I thought I’d get sick at some point traveling to so many places and being around so many people on planes, buses, ships, etc… but so far, I haven’t gotten sick once…knock on wood. I would love to take a trip every two months, but I think I’d prefer the majority of them to be road trips where I can stay in a place as long as I wish. The Italy trip was like a sampler. I’d liked to go on more trips where you go to one place and stay several days…maybe even a week, to see it in depth.

  11. Sounds like you had a lot of fun, Susan! Thanks for taking us along! Hugs…Debbie

  12. pam ~ crumpety cottage says

I’ve seen the Property Brothers show a couple of times, but I don’t know any of those other people. I rarely watch HGTV any more. But it looks like you had a great time. 🙂 And I look forward to all the other things you’ll share for the trip.

I read above that you are going to hunker down for the winter, lol. I got an instant mental image of you with a quilt wrapped around your shoulders (I know how you hate the cold) with a grumpy face and a mug of hot cocoa. 😀 Haha. Maybe this winter will be a mild one!

    • lol Yes, I hate cold weather so a quilt, some hot chocolate and some good books is my idea of a good time for winter. Or, a trip to a sunny island somewhere…that would work, too. lol

  13. WOW it looks like so much fun. That ship looks like it might need to be featured on the show.

    • Definitely! lol The floor inside my bathroom was soft and slanted…like there was a giant hole under it. It was creepy walking around in there and feeling it flex.

  14. What a most wonderful trip!!!….Would you go on another HGTV cruise again!…

    • Not if it was on this particular cruise line. I’d probably do it if it was on a much higher end cruise line. Would have to research the line first to make sure. You couldn’t even get a soda at dinnertime without paying extra.

  15. Looks like a very fun trip! Thanks so much for the party. Have a Happy Thanksgiving! take care, Tara

  16. You have really been a traveler lately
What a fun trip that was , I liked seeing all your pictures

I would never go on a Cruise LOL just me scared of all that water guess I would rather crash in a plane? LOL ( thinking out loud)

    • Janice, you and I would be good travelers together because I don’t really like water, either. I’m not sure why but for some reason it didn’t bother me on this trip…I think I just shoved it completely out of my head. These ships make this trek so many times a year, I think that’s why I felt safe.

  17. Hi Susan, your trip looked like a lot of fun, even with the dated ship! I am a fan of the destinations…my Carnival Cruise from years ago went to the same places. Key West was a blast and famously has the best lighting ever for pictures! Thank you for sharing your adventure with us, and of course for hosting this wonderful party! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving – Christine

    • Christine, I LOVED Key West! The people were so friendly and the town so picturesque. I didn’t get to see near enough of it, though. Sadly, we had very little time there. I would love to fly back and spend a week there sometime. Have a great Thanksgiving!

  18. How fun! I enjoyed all of the pix and the video. I’m living vicariously through your trips lately. You look so cute in these pix. Looks like the brothers should have done a before and after on the ship! Glad you had a good, safe trip. Thanks for hosting.

  19. I really enjoyed this post and the video! My hubby occasionally watches Property Brothers so I asked him if he wanted to take the trip. He wasn’t interested. Considering the condition of the ship I’m glad we didn’t go. Despite that, it looks like you had a good time and it was great to hear that the Scott’s are as nice in person as they appear to be on TV. Here’s a thought for your next cruise. I have a travel agent friend who has 10 cabins on the AMAPrima for a river cruise from Amsterdam to Budapest. I hear these river cruises are fantastic. Looking forward to seeing your beautiful home all decorated for Christmas. Vikki in VA

    • I’ve heard great things about the river cruises, too! I’ve been eyeing some of the ones that Grand Circle has going through Europe. I’d love to do one of the “Christmas Markets” tours through Germany.

  20. Susan ~ It looks like you had a great time, I am so happy for you! Now if I could book one very soon so I could just skip all this Christmas decorating coming up!

    • lol Like the book, “Skipping Christmas” by John Grisham. Did you see that movie, Jan? If not, you need to watch it…you’ll love it! 🙂

  21. Looks like you had fun despite the dated decor, although I bet you were just itching to redecorate the ship 🙂

    Big Texas Hugs,
    Susan and Bentley

  22. Regality (aka The Quing) says

Those walls are vile–and that comes from one who has occasionally been accused of the over use of color! *L*

  23. Hi Susan, just sending a note to let you know I went on the maiden voyage of the Ecstasy! It was in, if I remember correctly, Sept of 1992. From your pictures and my memory it hasn’t changed a bit! Maybe it’s time to upgrade and update the ship! Glad you had a good time. Looks like fun! Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours! Jodi

    • That sounds right, Jodi…I remember reading when I got back that it was their oldest or next to the oldest ship in their fleet. That is so cool that you got to go on the maiden voyage! Was it scary doing that? I’d be thinking Titanic the whole time. It was so funny, during Jillian’s talk…the casual one where she was wearing the white jeans, she almost used the Titanic in an anology, then stopped in mid sentence. Forgot what she was talking about now. Then she went ahead and told us what she almost said anyway. We all laughed.

      • Haha that’s cute. I don’t remember being worried. Although I think I would be now! I was young and pregnant with my fourth child so my brain was pretty busy with other worries! We had a fun time, glad you did too!

  24. Terri Gonzalez says

Thanks for posting information about the shoes! I had pinned a similar pair on Pinterest, similar in style but not price. The ones I pinned were Valentino’s and the price was $1000! On my way to Nordstroms to pick up a pair. Woo hoo!

    • Terri, I know what you mean! When I got home and started googling for them, I found the Valentino shoes first, but they had the second strap so I knew that probably wasn’t them. I was stunned at the price, too! Then I looked some more and found those. I’m sure those are the ones she’s wearing because Jillian shops and links out to Nordstrom a lot…so I’m sure that’s what she’s wearing. If I had anywhere to wear them, I’d order a pair. You can’t beat the sale price. They would look really cute with skinny jeans in blue or just about any color. I like them with the white jeans Jillian has on, too. She so petite, I’m sure she loves wearing heels to add a bit of height.

  25. Oooh, my Gosh!!! You got “THAT CLOSE” to the Property Bros!! SWOON!! I must watch a lot of HGTV as I knew every one of them…even the Design Star!! 🙂 I “think” I recognized the boots with fringe as I just got a pair from “Chicos” and they are “Old Gringo.” Have gotten lots of compliments. 🙂 This re-cap was JUST SUPER…thanks for sharing!! franki

    • I love those boots! Thanks for sharing where you’ve seen them Franki. I may have to order some. I love Old Gringo boots after buying my first pair of them last year.

  26. Great pictures. Love the video. Their brother could almost make them look like triplets!!! So glad that you had fun. I have been to the Mayan Ruins at Tulum and loved it. I hope you liked, too. Can’t wait to see more pictures. Hope you are getting some rest.

    • I did! It took us about 3 hours to get there and about 3 hours to get back…so we didn’t have much time to really see it. But I loved hearing the history and that ocean view in back was amazing!

  27. Susan, sounds like you had a great time with all the celebrity designers…had to be terrific! I took one Carnival cruise and vowed to never go on another cruise until we discovered Oceania! With the best food on the seas – Jacques Pepin is the Executive Chef and the ships are impeccably decorated! Thanks for sharing your experiences of travel! Blessings, Pam

  28. Andrea Campbell says

VERY cool! I loved this post. ❤️ Love the Property Brothers and their shows, so your inside look was delightful. Thanks much!

  29. I have been on 3 Carnival cruises and each ship is different but Carnival tends to go with bright colors. But some of their ships are really upper class and look more updated but Carnival bills itself has being a laid back type of cruise experience. I have been on Royal Caribbean and was not impressed. The food was not as good as Carnival, kids were allowed to run around like wild pigs and were constantly underfoot (didn’t seem to have many activities for the kids and Carnival has tons of activities for the kids to keep them constantly occupied) and no 24 hour food availability. I sailed on Norwegian on an Alaska cruise and was totally disappointed. Alaska was great but Norwegian was awful. The ship was beautiful. The crew was stand offish. The food (that was included in the price) in the main dining room was not good. Luby’s cafeteria is better. To get the good food, we had to pay to eat in one of the 3 restaurants on the ship and they started at $50 per person. We always had excellent food on Carnival and the accommodations were always good but each time we were on one of the newer, bigger ships. But most cruise ships get totally redecorated every 6 years I think. So you may just have been on one that is soon to be up for a rehab.

    • I was surprised at your comments about Carnival. I have never heard one good thing about Carnival, cheap, tacky, too many drunks, etc. I have taken 24 cruises, several on the other lines you mentioned and never had your experiences. we go in a group of several hundred and go on new ships so maybe those things make for good cruising.

  30. Jane Franks says

Hi Susan! Glad you didn’t let the horrible decor and the bad food dampen your enthusiasm! Looks like you had a lot of fun. We took a cruise with Holland America one time. Very classy, and elegant, understated. The food was fabulous — ALL of it!!

  31. I swear the Carnival cruise I took 15 years ago had decor like that!! We didn’t love it, but I know it was great fun to get to experience the Property Bros and other celebs~ glad to know they are as nice as they seem! Did you ever learn any tips? Thanks for hosting and sharing, and Happy Thanksgiving Susan!

    • No, not really. All the sessions with the Property Brothers were more about what goes on behind the scenes with their show and learning more about them.

  32. You should have asked them about the ship! I would have!! I also might have asked them to come do my house!! wink wink

  33. Wow! What a fun adventure to be on! Something to remember, for sure.
    Have a great Thanksgiving! — Amy @ http://thegiftedgabber.com

  34. There was a question about who decorated Carnival Ecstasy.
The answer is Joe Farcus, who is well known for decorating cruise ships.

  35. What a great trip Susan. The cruise I went on was the maiden voyage of Royal Caribbean Cruise Line and it was stunning and the food to die for. You got some great pictures and looks like you had a terrific time.
Thanks for sharing your cruise. Looking forward to the rest.
    Happy Thanksgiving.
    Mary

  36. I’ve cruised with Carnival many times and my mother is a VIP with them and I have to say that in their defense you need to read the guidelines before cruising. For example, purchase a soda card that allows you to have unlimited drinks. It’s known that sodas are extra. Also, I’ve always noticed that most bathrooms are slightly slanted so that the water drains easily.
The decor is wacky and kitschy, but we love Carnival and overlook most of it. We’re there to have a great time and we do. They don’t call them The Fun Ships for nothing.
Anyway, Thanks for taking us along, I loved all the pictures and I hope next time it’s a better experience for you.

    • The floor didn’t just slant, it was flexing underneath my foot, like there was a huge hole under it. The two drains in the floor were up in a corner, actually up hill from the sloping part so there’s no way water could go up hill to drain. We weren’t given an option to purchase a “soda card.” I worked many years ago for a company that sold cleaning chemicals to restaurants. As such, we were in big and small restaurants all day long. One thing I learned while working there is that the soda you buy in a restaurant, costs the restaurant pennies. That’s one of their biggest money-makers. The soda a restaurant sells you for $2.50, cost them about 3-4 cents per glass, or at least that’s what I was told back then. Maybe that’s up to .10 cents by now. So, I was very surprised to find they charged for sodas when I know it costs them hardly anything.

    • You could not buy a soda card or a drink card on this cruise. We asked.
This cruise was chartered by Premier Experience for the Scott Brothers.

  37. Hello Susan,
I thought all of your comments about Sailing With The Scotts were right on. I was on the cruise too. My husband and I signed up as VIP’s on the trip. I thought that I would see the Scotts a little more and be able to talk to them. They were just too busy. My husband and I didn’t go to any of the parties at night, so maybe we could have talked to them, if we had gone to the parties. They were great guys. They seem like they were destined for fame right from the beginning of their young lives. They are so photogenic too. But, I myself can’t even fathom living a life like theirs. They seem extremely busy. It seems like their life is one big photo shoot. Tons of travel too. With all that they do they seem very grounded which is great.
I loved seeing and hearing the other designers talk about their experiences and what they like in design too.
I’m not very fond of cruising. It was my first cruise and most likely my last. I thought the food was horrible (except at night), even then we had to pay $20.00 more for the filet mignon. When I had the regular food from the menu it was not very good.
We paid a lot to fly to Miami from Houston and then more to go on the cruise. I feel that we could have had a fantastic vacation on land for all the money that was spent. I’m pretty independent, so I didn’t like being stuck on the cruise all of the time.
I do think it was a great experience meeting all of the designers and hearing about their experiences. We also met some really nice people that we ate with every night that we will continue to keep in touch with.
After coming home, it seems a little boring seeing normal looking people. I was thinking as I was going to the grocery store today that there wasn’t anyone with pink hair or someone with a ton of tattoos.
I am a fine artist myself at this time. I was a Graphic Designer for most of my career. I have a passion for Interior Design and can’t get enough of that. I will definitely continue watching The Property Brothers and all of the designers in the future!
    Thanks for lending an ear,
    Cathy, from Katy, Tx.

    • Yeah, I almost made the mistake of ordering the filet one night, then realized it was going to be a lot more and decided it just wasn’t worth it.

  38. Cyndi Raines says

Glad you are home safe and sound. I enjoy their show, but really didn’t know the others. Nice to know that they are as friendly in person as they seem on TV. Don’t watch as much HGTV as I used to because I’m too busy reading your blog! lol. Happy Thanksgiving Susan! I know you will have a wonderful time with your family there.

    • Thanks, Cyndi! I hope you guys have a wonderful Thanksgiving! I know you will! I have so much to do between now and Thursday…I need three of me to get it done! 🙂

  39. If you have an opportunity to cruise again consider Holland America. My daughter worked for 10 years on cruise ships as a dancer in the production shows. She spent 7-1/2 years with Holland America and 2-1/2 with Princess. I went on 4 cruises on Holland America. The decor is classy and the food is amazing as well as the service.

  40. Thanks for hosting Susan!

  41. Welcome home! Glad you had a good time. I’m enjoying the photos and the recap. Happy Thanksgiving!

  42. My goodness, what an incredible experience this had to be. I’m sure many of us would have liked to tag along.

  43. wow! what an amazing experience. the brothers look like very nice guys & agree the design on the cruise is hard to look at. i think they do it on purpose to hide dirt, imperfections, etc. thanks for hosting. happy thanksgiving. xo- maryjo

  44. I enjoyed reading about the cruise very much, Susan. Thank you for posting.

  45. It looks like you had a great time! Thanks for telling and showing it to us)

  46. I am a little late getting here and it is almost Christmas! I was the one who saw one of the guys acting on the Hallmark Channel recently. Did you find out which one or did they mention acting? As busy as they are, I was surprised to see him (?). The last and only cruise we did was years ago on Disney’s Big Red Boat to Key West. They didn’t do those cruises very long. Glad we did it, but we are land lovers! Happy Holidays and with this unusually warm December, I bet you are enjoying it!

  47. Susan, I have seen Jason Cameron on several HGTV shows, but my favorite one is called Desperate Landscapes. He and his crew choose a poor, neglected landscape. They come in and take it all out then do a completely new landscape in one day. The finished job is beautiful. I always enjoy seeing what he does, which is unbelievable.
