Shopping the Spring-Easter Dinnerware in Two of My Favorite Stores

I ventured out yesterday to a couple of my favorite shops to see what’s new in for spring. The first place I stopped was Pottery Barn. I was surprised to see that they only had a couple of tables set for spring.

I remember this cute floral, Peter Rabbit pattern featuring Peter running and jumping through the flowers from last year.

Doesn’t this make you long for spring?!

I’m so glad that they are carrying this Beatrix Potter Peter Rabbit dinnerware again for this year. It’s definitely one of my favorites.

I’m eyeing this large platter, would love to pick it up this spring! You’ll find all the Peter Rabbit dinnerware (including the platter) available here: Peter Rabbit Dinnerware for Spring.

Last year I purchased these napkins. I loved both patterns and couldn’t decide between them, so I ended up purchasing a set of 4 in each style.

You may remember when I used the floral ones in this table setting. They are available again this year here: Peter Rabbit Napkins.

The floral napkins with Peter hiding and playing among the flowers are available here: Peter Rabbit. Floral Napkins.

The other set of napkins featuring Peter in 4 different scenes is available here: Peter Rabbit Napkins.

Next, I stopped by Williams Sonoma that’s just a few doors down from Pottery Barn. Much of the store looked like this with big empty spaces. I was worried they were getting ready to close but they told me they were just in the process of renovating/painting. Whew!

I love this summery, lemon/citrus-themed table setting!

So perfect for summer–it made me feel like I was back on the Isle of Capri! The salad plates come in a set featuring 4 different colors. You can see the whole set here: Lemon Dinnerware.

This table was set with pretty, French porcelain.

If your taste runs toward more simple patterns, this was really pretty! You’ll find it available here: French Porcelain Dinnerware.

Tucked over in a corner I spied these cute Peter Rabbit plates and recognized them right away.

You may remember the table I created with these a few years back.

I’m amazed they are still carrying them. They must have been pretty popular for them to bring them back again. I love when Williams Sonoma does that!

If you are looking for some new salad plates for spring or Easter, you’ll find these available here: Peter Rabbit Salad Plates.

I’m thinking about buying some of their hand soap and lotion for my grandsons for spring. It’s currently on sale here: Hand Soap and Lotion.

Have you ever used Bar Keepers Friend? My sister used to rave about it and used it for many things in her kitchen. It’s supposed to be great for cleaning rust, tarnish, mineral deposits, and stains from stainless steel cookware, porcelain, copper, Corian, brass, and a bunch of other surfaces. I’m going to order some to clean my stainless steel cookware. You’ll find it available here: Bar Keepers Friend.

I also noticed this Boo’s Block Board Cream that’s great for conditioning cutting boards. All my cutting boards need this right now so I’m going to order some. It’s available here: Boos Block Board Cream.

I have a wonderful “Porch” Before and After to share with you tomorrow for Metamorphosis Monday! I can’t wait to share it with you! Have a wonderful Sunday!

  1. Lovely post! You found so many pretty things. I have used Bar Keepers friend on my stainless steel cooktop and it works beautifully.

  2. We do not have Pottery Barn or Williams Sonoma in my area. Much to my dismay, I have to travel a couple of hours to visit them. Sometimes it is nice to see things closely before purchasing.
The best thing I have found for conditioning wooden cutting boards is food grade mineral oil. I have used it for years and it works great.

    • I, too, use mineral oil for my cutting boards and to reburbish any wood salad bowls or serving platters (anything wood). It comes as an inexpensive bottle that will last for years.

  3. Bar Keepers friend is a staple for me. I use it in my stainless sinks, and it works really well for cleaning up vintage (colorful) corning ware. It’s gentle and effective.
I love spring and all the possibilities of beautiful tables, gardens and home decor, in general!

Enjoy your posts. I wish we had those two stores in our area. Love Bar Keepers Friend for stainless steel and copper, but I can not use the spray formula as bothers my lungs!

  5. All is lovely, the rabbits are cute, and I love love the lemons. I had a lemon kitchen back in the eighty’s. I wish I had kept my treasures! I would like to find lambs for my Easter table and small crosses, if you find any would you let me know?

Thanks for all joy you bring to all of us in your lovely home and tablescapes!

Oohhh…someone…who shall not be named…has been “shoplooking”…. What FUN!!! Off to get the “Easter Egg” wreath, etc…think I’m going to plant spring grass…hmmm…maybe from bird seed…might make a cute centerpiece…luv those napkins!! franki

  7. Always enjoy a field trip, but especially in these lockdown times. The lemony table was my favorite–so cheerful.

  8. I love it when you wander the stores. I feel like I am right behind you and it saves me so much shopping time!

Most of my cookware is 10+ years old, but it still looks new because I don’t put it away until it’s as clean as it was the day I bought it. For stainless I use Bar Keepers Friend, for Chantal I use their proprietary product, and for Le Creuset and other enamel I use Bon Ami. I have some enamel pieces that are 30 years old and still look new (the trays that came with my toaster oven, which are used every day).

I so love the idea of the citrus themed tablescape, especially lemon. Yellow has never been on my favorites list of colors but when I think of lemons, I think of things being bright & fresh. I already have a set of yellow handmade reversible placemats with coordinating napkins given to me as a wedding gift by a friend whose Mom was a very talented sewer, so I think I might now have to build on that to create a really fun tablescape. Great post. T minus 20 days & counting until Spring! Yippee!

Another vote for Barkeeper’s Friend. I use it all the time. Out west, it’s available in the grocery store and other places. Love the rabbit plates. I already have some, so won’t be getting those. Sure miss Pier 1 these days. Glad you were able to get out and about.

  12. Looks like a lovely outing! I love when the stores bring back things you liked from previous years, but I always try to remember to buy things when I see them! 🙂 Barkeeper’s Friend for me too! Happy Sunday!

  13. Love all the Easter Dinnerware. Those Peter rabbit plates are adorable. Thank you for sharing.

  14. You had an outing! It would be quite the shock to see an almost empty store when so many are closing. Love those bunny plates. Bar Keeper’s Friend is my friend too. I also use Zud for rust stains. I’ve been using Clark’s cutting board soap (lavender and rosemary) and oil (food grade mineral oil). Looking forward to the porch surprise!

I love it when you go shopping! My Pottery Barn and Williams-Sonoma are 72 miles away. Plus, we just don’t go to the big city to have fun these days! I have always loved the Peter Rabbit things…I really want the large, filled paper mache Peter Rabbit egg! It is $90, but so impressive! I invested in some Easter things a few years ago at another famous store (now out-of-business) and all of those things co-ordinate with each other, but not necessarily with dear Peter Rabbit, so I must stick with what I already have. Ah, the shopper’s lament! Anyway, it’s cute stuff, too and I am lucky to be able to set a fun and pretty table. Keep up the shopping tours for us, please!

  16. Our WS closed here. A sad day! Thanks for sharing all the dishes! Peter Rabbit is a favorite in our family.

  17. Elena M. says

I also use Bar Keepers Friend for all my stainless steel cookware, my sink and also to get rid of the marks on Corelle dishes. I get mine at Publix, and a lot cheaper than the price I saw on your link. They also came out with a “cream” version, but I don’t think it works as well as the powder.

  18. Cyndi Raines says

Those Peter Rabbit plates are so cute and love the lemon look too. Yes, I am ready for spring. Started removing all left lover winter items, like greenery, winter berries and snowmen and pulling out some spring items with a nice green tablecloth to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day which will be here before you know it. We still have lots of snow on the ground, but we are forcasted with sunny days all week so it should start melting and that will be fine with me. Lol!

  19. Do you find the Pottery Barn Peter Rabbit stoneware to have bumps on them? Versus a smooth service? Mine are bumpy and can’t tell if that’s just part of the stoneware or not.

    • I just checked mine and it feels okay. There was one super tiny spec that I could feel in the finish of one plate and the finish isn’t silky smooth like you find with porcelain dinnerware, but otherwise, it felt pretty smooth. I think that’s just the finish you get with non-porcelain pieces. Sarah, if you just purchased it and it’s got significant defects, I would return those pieces and order replacements. I had to do that once with chargers I purchased from William Sonoma.

      • Sarah Wallace says

I ordered these last year as well and same issue. I returned them and asked for replacement but by then they were sold out. So ordered again this year and same issue. When I talk to customer service they are not familiar with the plates enough to know.

      • Sarah Wallace says

Actually, if you look at the picture of large Peter Rabbit platter that you posted, it seems to have the same type of bumps.

        • I never noticed this before on that large platter, but is that the silhouette of Peter in the center? Do you see what I’m talking about? I see the shadow/silhouette or a bunny, I guess Peter, in side-profile? Did they try to emboss the plate with his silhouette and that’s what you’re feeling? If you can’t see it, let me know and I’ll try to outline it in the picture and email it to you. I had never noticed that before until you said you could see the bumps in the platter in the photo I took.

      • Sarah Wallace says

What is your email? I’ll email you a picture of my plates. BTW I’m a huge fan of your blog and I’ve been following it for years! We have very similar taste!

        • Thanks, Sarah! I just saved the photo and then emailed the photo to myself and used the stylus on my phone to outline what I’m seeing on the platter. I’ll email the picture to you right now and that way you’ll also have my email.

        • Sarah, hopefully, you got my email. In the meantime, here’s a crude tracing of the raised silhouette I’m seeing on the plate
