Welcome to the 139th Tablescape Thursday!
With Easter only a few days away, I couldn’t resist bringing out all the bunnies for a little Easter table setting. It was a beautiful day here and I almost put this table out on the porch but it ended up here in the breakfast room, instead.
Chrysanthemums make for a great springtime centerpiece.
I tucked a sweet bunny down into the center. He’s having so much fun leaping through the daisies.
A bunny container was just right for an Easter tablescape.
Do you remember these little guys? I used them as napkin rings in a previous Easter table setting, HERE. On this day, they surround the centerpiece and hold treats for the dinner guests.
I’m using my favorite spring-summer china, Ma Maison.
Napkins are folded in the shape of a bunny. I’ll post a napkin fold tutorial for this fold by Saturday afternoon so you’ll be able to use it for this Easter. A small pom pom works well for a fuzzy bunny tail.
Update: Napkin tutorial for this fold can be found here: Bunny Napkin Fold Tutorial.
But I decided to use these little clip-on flowers, instead. I’ll explain about that in the upcoming tutorial.
The china is by Tabletops Unlimited and the pattern is Ma Maison, which means “My Home.”
The dinner plate…
Stemware is from Pier 1.
He’s back. Monsieur Ecureuil raids my bird feeder every day and he occasionally shows up to watch when I’m setting the table in the breakfast room.
Caption this picture. What is going on inside that furry little brain?
I found these cute eggs while antiquing recently and they captured my heart. They are monogrammed: E.B. Whose initials could those be?
I’m using them as place card holders in this table setting. I just tucked the place card inside. I had originally planned to put the napkin through the large ring at the end of the chain. They would make great napkin rings, but for this table setting I chose to use the bunny napkin fold, instead.
These eggs are so much more than just cute little eggs. Shhhh, don’t tell anyone but this is actually a Magic Easter-Egg Compass. Yep, that’s right. {Whispers: You see, this is what the Easter Bunny uses to decide where he wants to hide the eggs for Easter.}
A little message was attached to each egg. It read:
Have you ever wondered how
At the moment of sunrise,
The Easter Bunny quickly hides
Each Easter egg surprise.
He keeps a clever compass
Tucked inside his vest,
That helps him hide the Easter eggs
In places that are best.
Nestled in a tuft of grass,
Behind the potting shed,
Along beside the garden gate,
Or in the flower bed.
Down behind the willow tree
Where no one goes at all,
Or safely tucked between the stones
Beside the garden wall.
To our delight he does all this
Then hops along his way,
So we can find what he has brought
Each happy Easter Day.
You’ll find additional table settings by clicking on Tablescapes at the top of BNOTP, then Holiday, then Easter.
Happy Easter!

Adorably sweet table, Susan! Love the dinnerware pattern. The bunny napkin fold is precious. And that compass egg- wow, that is so very unique. 🙂 The bunny on a stick looks so at home in the bouquet of flowers in that delightful vase. This is a wonderful table for Easter.

Your placemats and napkins look completely different in this tablescape. How wonderful to have two beautiful sides to use. I love the adorable bunny napkin fold..just precious!

Oh my goodness – AMAZING! So, so fun! As for the EB, I'm thinking Elizabeth Barrett; before she was Elizabeth Barrett Browning. 🙂

Marianne 🙂

Dear Susan,
I must say firstly I love loved the Magic Easter Egg Compass it is so magical and so "Alice in the Wonderland" when I was a kid we use to go to Sunday church and have breakfast and have egg hunts in LA Ca now I know how the bunnies hide the eggs they use these Egg Compasses.
I loved your table so beautifully made and the bunny napkins so cute especially with the cotton tail one and not to mention the grass bunny in the daisies I wish I could sit in the middle of a daisy pot.
Thank you for sharing.
Happy Easter
Love
Karin
Such a wonderful table as usual. But those magic compass Easter eggs are the most wonderful little addition! The poem is beautiful. They make the perfect place holders for this table.
Mr. Squirrel is definately wondering if you set him a place too 🙂
Out of all your beautiful dishes these are probably my favorite…they just say "home" to me and the easter bunny compass is the most absolute cutest thing ever! I need to be on the search for those 🙂
Have a wonderful Easter!
Everything is just too darned cute.
This is a very sweet and cute tablescape, Susan. I have a tutorial with illustrations on the bunny napkin fold. If you want, I can just email it to you. I have always loved those dishes of yours…..Christine
Susan, you never cease to amaze me with your adorable and picturesque table settings. Imagine making bunnies out of napkins! My eyes got wider than dinner plates when I saw those. I even enlarged them on my computer screen so I could get a better look. Fabulous.
As for Mr Squirrel, I'd say send him OUT, SCAT, VAMOOSE into Mr. MacGregor's Garden. His cousins ate quite a few of my tulip and daffodil bulbs so they are NOT popular around here.
Take care and thanks for sharing such delightful things! Susan
I love your Breakfast dishes. They are so charming. Your table is beautiful, as always.

Susan, your Ma Maison dishes are my favorites too. And I used the same white chargers on my tablescape this week. I bought mine at Neiman Marcus. They work with so many different dishes that are in our cabinets.
I fell in love with those cute egg compasses. I immediately googled to see if I could get one. One site had them half price, but they were no longer available. But I did fine some on eBay, so I've ordered one. They are adorable. Such a clever concept.
I look forward to the bunny napkin tutorial. What a fun idea for Easter. Thanks for all you do, Susan. It's always a treat to visit The Porch. Happy Easter! ~ Sarah

P.S. I don't know what Senior Squirrel is thinking, but I'm not sure it's in your best interest. Perhaps you could give all your neighbors squirrel feeders for Easter! 😉
Hi Susan,
I'm so happy to join you today for Tablescape Thursday! Thank you as always for hosting.
You've set yet another darling table on your porch! Love the plates and your napkins so cleverly folded.
And of course Monsieur Ecureuil stole the show! He is just too cute! I think he wanted some Easter candy!
Wishing you a Happy Easter! ~Delores
Wow Susan!! Its awesome!!! The bunny shaped napkin folding looks fantastic!!! Wishing you a happy Easter!!!
You are ridiculously creative! Sometimes I view your tables and leave work to go in search of dishaccessories like these egg compasses. I really do. I'm prowling the streets mid-day. But it is like scouring the streets in search of a "fix" when I have no fix-compass. So could you post how you find these amazing doo-dah items that add such panache and artistry to your designs? Really, you make me feel like an addict in need of a fix but I can't even get close to the high that is your talent. Please don't worry about the stress you are causing me but on occasion, please ratchet the creativity down a notch for us beginners. You're a design rock star. Respectfully, CJ
I was excited to see the bunny-fold napkin on your table and that you promise to post directions! Yours turned out wonderfully and look great on your table. The egg compass is a wonderful accessory and story! Thanks for hosting TT and best wishes for a Blessed Easter!
DD

Finally figured out what the problem was and I was able to link up! Love the little bunny napkins. Thanks for hosting!
How lucky to find four of the eggs. Such a pretty table. I haven't had a pop up ad in weeks now. Yay! Just lucky I guess.
Happy Easter, Susan! An egg compass it such a joy to see on your beautiful table. The bunny napkin fold is so sweet for Easter.
Squirrels do photograph well 🙂
Mr. Squirrel has one thing on his mind! Food! LOL… high metabolism!
Love those easter eggs you found…most adorable! I remember the first time I saw you Ma Maison dishes I went to the internet immediately only to figure out they are not readily available! Those are keepers for sure! Love those bunny pieces too! Happy Easter! ~Liz
So cute and I love the EB egg. I think the EB initial probably stands for: Easter Bunny.
I love the napkins! You have to post about them! The eggs are adorable!
Your table is over the top gorgeous
as usual

This has to be one of my favorites of your tablescapes. Your china, Ma Maison is one of, if not my favorite patterns. It sets such a lovely spring table. Love the bunny in the daisy centerpiece, makes your table come alive…….And how about Monsieur Ecureuil, isn't he the little busy body, has to know exactly what's going on. To cute…….
Wishing you Easter Blessings
~Emily

Have a lovely weekend Susan.
Hi Susan, this table is so delightful. I could just sit there forever. I love the Ma Maison dishes and the green stemware. I think the little squirrel (who seems to be clutching his tummy) is sayin "oh good, time to eat!" Happy Easter to you and yours, xo,

Your Ma Maison dishes are so beautiful! I saw those a few years ago while visiting my mother in Texas and already had multiple carts loaded with stuff I was going to have to mail back to myself in Iowa and passed them up. Each time I see yours, I seriously regret that choice! They are just amazing.
Have a very happy Easter!

Susan, thanks so much! So glad you are here. 🙂 Come back anytime…you are always welcome!
Found you on Pinterest – gorgeous is the only way to describe your settings! And of course, EB stands for Easter Bunny!
Bonjour, Susan, Je pense que votre petit monsieur écureuil pense, “nom, nom, nom.” Haha. He was looking mighty slim in yesterday’s photos. Poor little guy must have had a rough winter. He needs to fatten up a bit and he knows just where to go to do that. 😉
Thanks for the Tablescaping inspirations. I hope it’s finally Spring where you are. 🙂
Susan, this is one beautiful setting…oh, my those plates and I adore those sweet, little compasses. Happy Easter to you and your family!
JP
Beautiful table setting! I tried to find the Magic Easter Egg Compass online and cannot find it anywhere!
Kathy, I bought those a few years ago in a local antique shop. I think someone did find some online but they may not be available now.
Would you be interested in selling the bunny compass? I need 4 of them.
No, sorry. I hope you’re able to locate some.
