Touring 2 Homes Beautifully Decorated For The Christmas Holidays

Welcome to the 726th Metamorphosis Monday! I hope as I write this, you are enjoying a warm, relaxing, cozy time wherever you are. It’s been super cold here in Ohio over the past few days. I’ve never lived where I saw negative temps! Notice the “feels like” temp: -31°! That’s scary cold! As I type this, it’s 17° outside and feels like 8° per the weather app on my phone, plus, more snow is expected today. Ugh. Has it been crazy cold and snowy where you live?

A few days ago I shared Jackie’s beautiful dining room and table all dressed for Christmas.

Dining Room at Christmas

If you missed that post, you’ll find it here: Jackie’s Beautiful Dining Room Dressed and Ready for Christmas.

Elegant Christmas Table in Black, White, Gold

Jackie’s whole home was beautifully decorated for Christmas, starting right here in her foyer. Jackie said, “This is the first year I thought of using the foyer off the dining room for desserts. I thought it made for a pretty entryway!”

What a wonderful way to display appetizers for a family gathering or a party with friends. Jackie found the dessert stands here: Dessert Stands for Birthday, Weddings, or Parties.

Love this peek into the library/office.

Love how she has her Christmas village displayed and lit inside this corner cabinet. It looks so magical, like looking into an enchanting fairy world.

Jackie’s mom, Helen, decorated her home for the holidays and it’s easy to see where Jackie gets her talent for setting a beautiful table!

Gorgeous chandelier!

Beautiful display on the sideboard…so pretty!

Love this Christmas tree art! I wonder if Helen created this piece. I can just imagine how sparkly and pretty it must be in person. This would be such a great piece to make from vintage, or even new, costume jewelry.

Helen has her home beautifully decorated for the Christmas holidays.

This is such a great way to decorate around the bottom of the tree before the presents are wrapped and in place.

Helen has a wonderful collection of miniature villages.

This is such a great way to display them–I really like how they look this way–the shelves make it almost seem like individual lanes or streets.

I am smitten by this vintage wicker chair! You never see them made like this now with the little pocket on the side for a book or magazine. Love that so much!

Thanks so much to Jackie and Helen for inviting us into their beautiful homes this Christmas season! Looking forward to all the great Before and Afters linked for this week’s Met Monday!

  1. Oh I love that amazing piece of Christmas Tree Jewelry art. I’ve seen these before on velvet and they are mesmerizing. Hope you’re having a great time in Ohio. We’ve been in the negative numbers too here in sw Missouri. Take care and stay warm!

  2. Burr! And I thought it was cold in Idaho. Try to stay warm and have a Happy New Year!

  3. Wow! Mother and daughter go all out for Christmas and in slightly different styles. Love the mini village, especially the Ferris wheel. And the jeweled tree. And…and…and…everything. Thanks for sharing ladies.

  4. Wow – hope the heat is nice and toasty inside, and you’re all staying warm! I love Helen and Jackie’s beautiful decorating! What fun to have the desserts in the entry! 🙂 Hope you had a lovely Christmas day, and thanks as always for sharing and hosting!

  5. Wow, Jackie and her mom sure do have beautiful homes and I love the way they decorate! Yes, it has been cold! We only got a little dusting of snow, then it went to freezing rain, then to all rain. Lots of rain. Then it froze, everyone’s car doors were frozen shut, garage doors wouldn’t open and were frozen. What a mess. But it was the brutal winds, 1 degree and negative 19 feel like temps that was killing me. The poor furnace just couldn’t keep up and I also had two small space heaters running. I won’t be sad to this this cold leave that is for sure. I hope you guys in OH don’t get any more snow right now! The north can be rough in the winter, but this artic blast hit the south as well. Brrrr! Stay warm Susan! Hugs, Brenda

    So very beautiful!! franki

  7. I wondered if you were driving in the storm over the holiday. You wrote that you were spending it with your son and family in Ohio. I live one state over and it was bitter here as well as blizzard like conditions. Luckily we weren’t in Buffalo. Those poor people with 4 feet of snow. I hope that you are all tucked in and cozy and not headed out on a hike like you usually do, Happy New Year,

    • Thanks, Iris! I ended up coming up two days early because the day I was supposed to be driving was looking really bad. Wow, 4 feet! That is crazy! We only got a few inches but the temps have been insanely cold so none of it has melted…and the roads were a mess here. They are somewhat cleared off now. That’s what I most dislike about snow–how it traps you at home…or you risk going out and being hit by someone driving way too fast for conditions. I hope you had a great Christmas! Happy New Year to you!

  8. Yes, I’m in Ohio suffering with you. I’m glad you made it here before the storm and you should be able to make it home before another one. We are supposed to get a nice spell. We had three young people fly here for early Christmas, all had flights back canceled. One caught a flight back to California that night and the two from Texas left here fine but were canceled in Nashville so they rented a car and drove home. What a mess! The thing is we are used to it.
I so enjoy seeing all the beautiful decorating you show us.Thank you so much and Happy New Year!

  9. Beautiful homes!!
Thanks again for hosting this charming party!! I truly appreciate the time and effort that goes into it! Stay safe, healthy and happy!!
    Hugs,
    Deb
