A Fall Table Setting

Welcome to the 5th Tablescape Thursday!

Recently, I asked Lynne (Decorator101 on RMS) if she had put together a fall table setting? Fortunately for all of us, the answer was, YES!   She sent me these beautiful pics and they were just too good to keep to myself. I ask Lynne for some information about how she put her fall table together and here’s what she shared:

“I am so honored to be asked once again by Susan, the Queen of Tablescapes, to share a couple that I have done. I hope you all enjoy them.

“As the leaves change outside, so does the decor inside our home. The house fills with the scent of mulled cider and the deep reds and greens turn to burnt oranges and browns. That means I get to take out the fall dishes…now herein lies the problem…because until a month ago, I didn’t really have any what you would classify as “fall dishes”. I have several sets for the other seasons, but not one fall set. So I go out scouting, and lo and behold, a stop at T.J.Maxx provided just the right set…the perfect brown with a wonderful leaf and a red berry on them. Once I saw the red berry I knew they would work with an existing set of red dishes I already had.

“Then I thought, I need some great glassware..now all you gals talk about Big Lots so I thought this would be the perfect time for me to check it out. Upon going inside I got detoured a bit and looked at flatware. I didn’t find anything that I thought would be the perfect fit for these dishes.

“I stopped by the glassware only to be disappointed…nothing said take me home. As I was walking out the door…there “they” were in all “their ” glory…these beautiful goblets.

“And Yeah!! they were marked down 75% off and each goblet only cost me $1.25. Yes, you read that right…$1.25. Well, you know I gently picked up all they had and headed to the checkout…smiling. 🙂 ” Once home, I commenced playing with the dishes. I had already found these wonderful wooden chargers..notice the leaves and the acorns? I’m over the top this year with acorns.

“I started building the tablescape, mixing and matching. I found these great leaf shaped plates and thought they would make a perfect desert plate. What do you think?

“I then remembered my gold flatware. Now for the perfect centerpiece. I didn’t want to use flowers or something ordinary. Then it came to me…I’ve got these darling squirrels in the shop and thought…with the acorns I have laying all around the table, why not a squirrel for a centerpiece?

“So I got out this wonderful wooden piece, also available in the shop, for him to set on.

“What do you think? Isn’t he just the cutest thing going?

“I put down some of these beautiful carpet balls with the fleur-de-lis on them. You girls know me and my carpet balls. I use them in many different ways.

“I also added these wooden acorns and acorn candle holders. I found these at the Dollar General and could not resist adding them to the table.

“After a bit, I remembered the beautiful pheasant and thought why not try the pheasant as a centerpiece.

“I laid some great faux leaves down. I added this great little bird and thought he went well with all the bird’s nest laying on the table.

“This naturally required changing out the chargers, so I pulled these great gold chargers out…

“…and exchanged the brown plates for red plates.

“And in a wink of an eye I had a whole new tablescape.

“I added the beautiful wine glasses with the gold rims to pull in more of the gold from the flatware.

“Notice the great leaf candles? I’ve had those for a few years now and thought they would work great.

“I finished off both tablescapes with the napkins, that I make in the shop, and the wonderful acorn napkin rings.

“I think the acorns add a whimsical feel to the table and the only thing missing is you!
Lynne, thanks so much for sharing these two incredible fall tablescapes! I love how you created two very different tables by changing out just a few of the elements…outstanding!
