Happy Weekend to you! I’ve been working in the yard most of the weekend, spreading the 25 bales of pine straw I had delivered this past week. Ugh. It’s good exercise but Wow, does it get your allergies going! Well, that and the pollen. Are you suffering with spring allergies right now, too?

  1. Good Afternoon Susan,
I have been reading your posts for the past couple of years, but this is the first time I’ve responded with a comment. We have very similar tastes in clothing, accessories and decor so I really do enjoy following your great ideas! A week or so ago, you posted the pink bow hat from Tuckernuck. I shop quite a bit at TN but I somehow missed the hat. So, I ordered it and had it monogrammed in navy! Like Reese, if it isn’t moving, I monogram it! Well, it is just adorable! If you decide to order, do look at the monogram possibilities…it will show you what it will look like on the ribbon! I, too, am an avid Talbots shopper as I have a store just 3 min. from my house. Needless to say, I get into a lot of trouble there! This was fun, perhaps you’ll hear from me more often! Keep sending those great ideas! Sherry

    • Thanks for your comment, Sherry! I absolutely love that hat, too. I have in three bow colors now: navy, cream and pink. I’ve been wearing the cream and navy a lot the last few years…such a great hat! I couldn’t believe it when I saw it in pink…had to have it!
The monogramming looks really cute online, good to know it as cute in person as it is on the website. Love that idea! Reese is so funny, I’m almost as bad as she is about monogramming everything! Ha!
My Talbot’s is close by, too. I love stopping in there to see what’s new. Unfortunately, the floral shirt I showed in the thumbnail of this post is sold out in my size. I’m going to keep checking the site this week though…just in case they get it back in. Everything always sells out so fast when they have their 40% off sale.

  2. Oooooh, Susan, I love that Mark and Graham bag with the bamboo handle! Now to narrow down the color I want – the white is gorgeous, but I also love the red…and the blush is wonderful. Aaaggh. Too many choices!! Thanks for sharing!

    • I know, I love it too! It reminds me of Gucci with the bamboo handle. The blush and the white are my favorites, too. Love in red, also! Hard to choose!

  3. I like al of those but especially the blue floral and stripe tunic blouse. Just wish it was made in no iron cotton. I don’t know what my obsession is with blue and white stripe tops! Nice choices. They look like you. I, too like monograms. I have one on my back car window.

  4. Oh Susan,
Are you kidding? I stepped outside this afternoon to the smell of snow on the breeze and came home from my meeting to a blizzard. Again a layer of fluff on the tree limbs and ground, and tomorrow is April first! By the way I’m happy that our Ohio Winter held off until you were home from your Christmas visit.

  5. Susan, this is the worst year I have had for a long time with allergies. You know we could wear a mask outside, right ? LOL I trimmed one of the hedges and the air is really thick with blossoms. No shopping until I lose a few. Tempting.

  6. Cyndi Raines says

I’ve begun my purging! Feels good! Started with hubby’s closet Saturday night and the clothes racks are finished along with the shoes, just need to finish the upper shelves. He’s pleased too. Hope my closet goes as fast & easy. I have a harder time, but am determined to make those hard decisions of parting with items that haven’t been worn in a year. I’ve already started on my shoes. Yes, I would love to get excited about Spring, but we just had 2+ inches of snow Saturday night. It shouldn’t last too long as we will see some temps in the high 40’s, low 50’s this week, which is great for April in MI. Hopefully, I can get back to my spring clean-up, last week we had a few nice days. Enjoy your sale shopping! They have darling clothes.

  7. I especially love the flowery shell underneath the hat. Wouldn’t those two be so pretty together? Love that pink bow!

  8. Susan, FYI, I read somewhere that eating at least 4 cups of sweet potatoes a week can cut allergy symptoms. Also drizzle a baked sweet potato with olive oil and that enhances the beta carotene–that’s what’s fights the allergies. I told a friend with really bad allergies, he tried it, and has seen some great success. Even if it doesn’t help–sweet potatoes are good any time!
