Welcome to the 915th Tablescape Thursday! Sheri, a lovely BNOTP reader, recently shared the cutest birthday celebration table setting with me. This was a big birthday milestone as her hubby had just turned 82! Sheri said, “We finally had Mike’s birthday dinner, delayed due to snow and work schedules. The theme was penguins, as Mike has always been identified with penguins since being stationed in Antarctica during his time as a Navy Seabee.”

Sheri said, “Enjoyed using my decades-old Corelli blue snowflake plates, but used penguin party paper plates and napkins. Mike has quite a collection of penguins given to him throughout the years, so they lined the table runner I made. It’s from Dollar Tree placemats that I sewed together and covered the seams with lace.” Oh my gosh, that is so clever! I would never have thought of doing that, but I love that idea!

Sheri shared more about the centerpiece for this special birthday table, saying, “Mike made the centerpiece, and I added a photo of us and flowers. He actually made one for our 2 sons and their wives, and our granddaughter and her fiancée for Christmas. I love a blue and white table.”

This had to have been the birthday boy’s seat! Why do I suddenly have the urge to get a Penguin stuffy? lol Sheri said, “I made all the penguin treats for the party. Dinner was Mike’s favorite Ham Loaf with all the fixings. It was a big birthday, so I wanted him to celebrate in style!”

Wow, look at all that yummy food with desserts galore! I bet no one in Sheri’s family ever misses an opportunity to attend a gathering at Sheri’s home because the food always looks wonderful!

Sheri must have been baking for days! I’ll take one of each, please!

Love all the penguin-themed desserts! The peguin cookies are so cute!

The cake looks like an icy glacier, doesn’t it? I can envision little penguins partying and sledding down the sides in celebration of Mike’s 82nd birthday!

Thanks so much to Sheri for sharing this wonderful Penguin-themed birthday celebration! There’s so much inspiration here for creating a future winter-themed party. Especially loved the DIY runner idea that she made using dollar store placemats! Love that!

Looking forward to all the beautiful table settings linked for this week’s Tablescape Thursday!

If you are participating in Tablescape Thursday, please be sure to add your permalink below, and not your general blog address. To get your permalink, click on your post name, then copy and paste the address showing in the address bar, into the “url” box when you link up. You’ll need to include a link in your post back to the party to link up and participate. That’s so visitors to your blog will be able to find the party and the other Tablescape Thursday participants. Requiring a link back also prevents businesses and scammers from linking up to sell their products. Please, don’t add your post name/blog name ALL IN CAPS…it tends to create big spaces between the rows of links. Please do not link up table settings that were just recently shared in the last few weeks for Tablescape Thursday.

What a great surprise this birthday spread was! Kudos to Sheri for honoring her husband in this super creative Tablescape–Love it ALL! And I am beginning to get really hungry–Sheri truly went all out and I’m sure a fantastic time was had by all. So many things I would like to copy, especially the cookies!
And most importantly–Love those Seabees!!! Love all our folks in uniform. And Sheri proved she is a true culinary trooper!
SUPER CUTE!! WELCOME TO 82 SKIDOO!! franki
Such a fun and whimsical table! I bet your husband felt well loved and celebrated! So cute and fun food!
What a cute birthday table setting. Love all the penguins, the tale runner (blue is my favorite color) and the yummy food. What fun!
Oh all those penguins are just darling! What a fun table – Mike is obviously well loved. And Sheri’s so creative. I’m with you on loving the DIY runner! Thanks to both of you for sharing – I got lots of great ideas to try!
Thank you Susan for sharing my table. Had so much fun doing this for Mike. He deserves everything special!! Blessings to you!
Such a cute tablescape for her hubbies special birthday celebration. People have so many good ideas for dollar store buys. I thought using the placemats for a table runner was great!
Thank you for your service, sir! And, Happy Birthday! What a fun and festive table setting. Love the penguin theme. The food looked delicious. Wish I had a plate, now. The dessert table was the icing on the cake! ♥️
Happy Birthday, Mike!
Susan, I also love a blue and white table. And I agree, Sheri’s idea to sew together those placemats to make a runner is genius! Such a simple idea, yet I wouldn’t have thought about it. And it’s so pretty.
I have never seen penguin themed snacks before, but these look great, as does that yummy looking cake.
I wish I could ask Mike about antarctica! I bet he could tell us a lot. Thanks for sharing your fun day, Sheri. Have a great weekend, Susan.
Me, too! Would be fascinating to hear what it was like being there.
Mike is blessed!!
Oh, what a fantastic table! Susan, I’m with you on thinking that yummy cake looks glacier-like. And, what a great idea to make a runner from placemats; I’ll have to remember that. Thank you to Sheri for sharing the table and the great penguin-themed desserts. Happy 82nd to Mike and thank you for your service.
Cutest penguin treats ever! That must have been a fun party.
Oh my goodness – what a great way to honor Mike. Love the penguin theme and all the creativity that went into the table. The menu looks delicious and I’ll bet everyone had a fantastic time. I must remember that cute way of making a table runner from placemats – genius. Happy Birthday Mike and thanks for sharing Sheri and Susan!
I’m so bummed. Clicking on a table takes me to Inlinkz, where it redirects me to sign up with GoDaddy. This doesn’t happen on all the linked tablescapes, but enough to be frustrating.
That is bizarre! I’ll let InLinkz know because that def shouldn’t be happening.
Julie, I’m not experiencing that when I click on the links, and no one else has mentioned it. I asked InLinkz, and they said that you may have something that is hijacking your browser. You may want to uninstall your browser and reinstall it. Also, try clearing your cache and rebooting just to see if that helps.
What a fun celebration! Love the cupcakes and I thought the same as Susan did about the white cake! Very clever idea for the runner. $1 has the same flowers on plates, cups and bowls…really pretty and I was tempted. Happy Birthday, Mike!
Oh my gosh!! The PENGUIN table!! So clever and cute! Well done Sheri! And the penguin treats look wonderful. That takes lots of planning, time and creativity. I’m still smiling as I type this! Thanks for sharing, Susan, and Sheri, I want to come to your next party! ❤️
