Celebrating Summer With A Floral Explosion Tablescape On The Porch

Welcome to the 874th Tablescape Thursday! When I last left you, I was lamenting the dirty state of the porch furniture after our very rainy, messy, pollen season.

I reached out to the pressure washing company that I’ve used in the past to get a quote for cleaning the decks and the outdoor wicker I have here on the porch. They promised to get a quote back to me that evening.

My usual impatient self couldn’t stand looking at the furniture another minute. I pulled it all out onto the deck (except for the swing that would have been too difficult to unhook and carry out) and got to work cleaning it with my favorite Super Cleaner. I pulled my backyard hose up onto the deck to rinse it off, using a spray attachment on the end of the hose. That process worked well. I got a good workout, and the furniture came out nice and clean.

Here’s a close-up of the porch swing. I cleaned it in place on the porch, rinsed it off with the hose, then used my leaf blower to blow the water that accumulated on the floor, out the door of the screened porch. The wood flooring on the porch is KDAT porch flooring, so I knew the water wouldn’t hurt it, but the blower was a much faster way to scoot it on off the porch.

So we have a clean porch for this week’s Tablescape Thursday! Yay!

Screened Porch on a summer day, 2025

By the time I finished all the cleaning and began setting the table, the temps were already in the 90s.

Shady Porch, late afternoon

I don’t mind, though—I love hot weather and it felt good to be out working and sweating in it.

Summer Dining on the porch

This table was supposed to be a beach-themed table, that’s what I had planned all along since recently picking up two cute shore birds from the Cracker Barrel store during a bathroom break during my drive from the Dollhouse back down to Georgia.

As I started working on that table, I completely changed my mind. I was craving color, lots of color! And flowers—I wanted flowers! It never works for me to plan a table too far in advance; inevitably, I’m in the mood for something completely different when the time comes to actually set the table. Does that ever happen to you?

Summer Table Setting, A Floral Explosion

I changed my mind on the centerpiece a few times, but finally settled on this sweet bunny, a previous find in Williams-Sonoma several years back. I had hoped to fill him with gardenias from the large gardenia shrub just outside my garage, but unfortunately, I could only find two very small blooms left. It was beautiful this year, though! So I filled our bunny with faux Gerbera Daisies for our floral explosion table today.

I’ve used these bunny plates and floral chargers in table settings before, but I don’t think I’ve ever paired them with these sunshine-yellow dinner plates before.

I want every day to be like this, filled with bunnies, beautiful flowers, and sunshine!

I couldn’t decide which napkin rings to use—the pink, beaded dragonflies, or the green, beaded butterflies, so I ended up using both.

The dragonfly napkin rings were a find in Pier 1, as were the butterfly napkin rings.

The salad plate is from Pier 1, back in the day. The pattern is Mod Floral Bunny. The sunshine yellow dinner plate is Noritake, from their Colorwave collection. The charger plate is by Spode, part of the Kim Parker Home Collection, and the pattern is Emma’s Garland. The chargers were a lucky find in Marshalls many years ago. They are one of my favorite charger plates ever, love the floral design so much!

In the past, I probably would have used my pretty green flatware for this table, but I decided to try something different, something new. I pulled out the gold-accented Napoleon Bee flatware that I purchased not that terribly long ago, and discovered the gold accent worked well with this setting.

Do you see the pretty gold accents? I never realized how much I’d use this flatware when I first purchased it for a bee-themed table setting. The gold accents add just a touch of color to what would otherwise be a plain stainless-steel addition to the table.

This flatware is still available here: Napoleon Bee Flatware with Gold Accents.

I really wanted to use these adorable daisy wine glasses for this floral-themed table setting. I only have 4, but would to find more. I think I found these in HomeGoods, but it’s been so long, hard to remember now. The green water/tea glasses are from HomeGoods many years ago.

To get your permalink, click on your post name, then copy and paste the address showing in the address bar, into the “url” box when you link up. You’ll need to include a link in your post back to the party to link up and participate. That’s so visitors to your blog will be able to find the party and the other Tablescape Thursday participants. Requiring a link back also prevents businesses and scammers from linking up to sell their products. Please, don’t add your post name/blog name ALL IN CAPS…it tends to create big spaces between the rows of links. Please do not link up table settings that were just recently shared in the last few weeks for Tablescape Thursday.

What a bright & inviting table! I always love all your special touches & the details, just waiting to be admired.
You did a fabulous job of cleaning your outdoor wicker! We have white Polywood Adirondack chairs up here at the lake cottage, & I have NEVER been able to get them back to clean white! I’ve used Barkeeper’s Friend, scrub brushes, powerwashing & every cleaner, except, (I just realized) Super Cleaner. I have it in the garage & house in IL, but I will soon have some up here & try once again to clean those frustrating chairs!!

I love this table setting. We have so many bunnies always running around our farm, I thought of them when I saw your table setting. Love how colorful, vibrant and simplistic you made the table.

  4. This tablescape is so apropo for what’s actually outside right now! Bunnies galore, trying to feast on my flower smorgasboard! Thanks to the weather being dry since last Friday, I sprayed the bunny (& deer) repellant and it’s been good all week (with a dose of red pepper for good measure). I love the combination, and thought how those plates reminded me of a Kim Parker dinnerware set I was gifted.
What a great look, having the porch all cleaned up. The wicker furniture turned out great.

  5. Susan, your furniture washed up beautifully! Those close ups really show how well it was cleaned. Looks great. And everybody is talking about bunnies at their houses. I wish I still had bunnies! We used to see them but too much building in adjacent neighborhoods must have scared them off.

I like the way the gold in the flatware picks up the yellow in the plate stack and even the beads in the butterfuly napkin rings. A very cheerful table setting.

Today started out stormy here, but that didn’t last long. It’s beautiful and sunny now. And we got some needed rain. Have a great weekend.

  6. Beautiful table Susan and so bright and cheerful. The WS bunny is so precious holding the pink gerbera daisies. Love the bunny plates and the chargers are gorgeous. And of course those wine glasses are darling (I have them in stemless). There is an Etsy shop that sells them called JerseyArtGlass if you are really keen to add to your collection. Expensive though. The patio and wicker furniture look great. Happy Thursday!

I have to say, that the Napoleon Bee flatware with the gold trim (45 piece) is available at Costco for $149.99 – quite a difference!! I was in love with them for a long time, and I finally purchased them, but the all-stainless steel finish, because I read that the gold trimmed is not dishwasher safe. I love them, they are perfect for spring and summer!!

    • Yeah, I kinda figured it wasn’t so I would def wash them by hand I do love how it looks, though. It’s not overdone or gaudy, just the right amound of gold.

  8. The porch looks so fresh! And the floral explosion is such a pretty complement to it. June looks good in pink. Your bunny reminds me of Mr. Rabbit; hope he is still around.

  9. Susan, they tell me “Patience is a virture” I am not there yet either.LOL You know, by the time someone else gets around to helping me, I won’t be in the mood. Amazing cleaning job. I love the colorful table.
I think what I like most about your porch is it’s not ground level. What a view. I think you could sell the plans for the porch because we all love it.

  10. Just lovely! It’s the perfect time of year for a floral explosion. Great plates! I frequently update plans as I go, changing ideas as inspired. Great post!

I'd love to hear from you! Please leave a comment!
