Welcome to the 43rd Tablescape Thursday!

Independence Day is just around the corner.  What better way to celebrate this Tablescape Thursday than a celebration in red, white and blue!

4th of July Party Table Setting Ideas

The porch is the perfect spot for a celebration…especially the kind that involves cooking on the grill…

4th of July Table Setting and Decorating Ideas

I’ve been working on a patriotic themed tablescape in my head for weeks now…couldn’t quite pull it together in time for Memorial Day. But, there was no way I was letting the 4th of July get by without celebrating the Red, White and Blue!

I pulled pieces from various sets of china to get the red, white and blue color scheme.. My everyday china, Blue Willow, provided the blue needed for this patriotic table setting.

When I’m out shopping, I’m always thinking “tablescape.” I spied these adorable, little chair candle holders and an idea popped right into my head.

You may recognize this antique graniteware pitcher filled with daisies.  It’s usually on the trunk/coffee table in the upstairs family room.  Often, we already have just what we need for our tablescapes, just look for the things you already have and love. I really like the pop of the yellow daisies, the only other color in our patriotic themed tablescape.

Last year our whole neighborhood celebrated by lining the streets with flags when a neighbor’s son returned home from Iraq.

A few days later I heard a knock on my door and a tall, handsome, young man gave me a big hug, thanking me for my small part in his welcome home. Can you imagine…he was thanking me?! There aren’t enough words to thank him for his service.

This is just about the cutest thing I've ever seen. How do you continue to amaze us every week? I love those little chairs. We had a whole yard of those when I was a little girl. And the picture where you had the chairs all lined up?….Well, it made me think of people sitting in their lawn chairs watching the 4th of July Parade. What town doesn't have one of those? Okay, I think I'm going to have to have a 4th of July party. But, I'm gonna need those cupcake holders. Do you think my Blue Bench can be worked in?
Thanks for the Best Eye Candy in Blogland!
    Carol

  48. I love your tablescape. Everything is so pretty. Great towels..er…napkins from the Dollar Tree. Also love the cute little bitty chairs with the cupcakes. Better make sure no little people decide to sit in them and squash the cupcakes before they can get eaten. Too bad I can't just reach into the puter and grab one of those. Maybe I'll just have another root beer float instead. I still have root beer and ice cream left. Yummmy.

    Hi Susan,
You continue to amaze me with your endless creativity! The little vintage style chairs used as cupcake holders are the cutest things ever. I hear the fireworks popping in the background and the oohs and ahhs of the spectacluars. The little ones running around with their sparklers (is that still aloud????) and smell hotdogs on the grill. You've created a perfect setting for a perfect 4th!

  122. Hey Susan, Of all the blogs I have read about any subject, THIS is my favorite page. The colors are terrific, the subject is so important, the flags, flowers, your excellent arrangement, and more. I think the idea of those tiny red chairs for dessert is perfect and they won't break if you drop them……
i am going to bookmark this page so I can come back and look at it all the time.
You are very talented and have quite an eye for the end product. You made my day !!!

What a fun post, I loved the ideas so much I shared via my Facebook page!

  132. Your table is so very colorful . I am jealous
I love the napkins where did you find them

My mother had so sheets in an old book of the declaration of independence
I used as placemats under some apothecary jars. I has a lot of meaning now

Do you decorate inside for the fourth as well
If so I would love to see some photos

    Hugs Deb

    • Thanks,Deb! The napkins are just inexpensive hand towels from the Dollar Tree, if I’m remembering correctly. Pretty sure that’s where I found those. I don’t do a lot of decorating inside other than changing out a decorative plate on my counter in the kitchen. The porch works well, decorating for the 4th with its white backdrop. I know those do have so much meaning…memories of your Mom. I hope one day my son will use things and think of his Mom. 🙂

I'd love to hear from you! Please leave a comment!
