The book I’m sharing today is one I purchased back in April 2007 when I was just starting to make plans for adding a screened porch onto the back of my home. It would be a full year before my porch was complete…just in time for its first summer of fun!
In the BNOTP Library: On the Porch: Creating Your Place to Watch the World Go By
Author: James M. Crisp
3 Things I Like About This Book:
- Lots of pictures of beautiful porches from simple to ornate, small to large, screened to open air to two-story. Porches are as varied and different as people and this book really does a good job of showing a tremendous variety of styles.
- This books shares lots of great tips and ideas for features you would want to consider when adding a porch onto your home.
- Though this book is filled with photos throughout, it’s also packed with lots of practical information about porches and tips for construction. It breaks the porch down into its individual parts, discussing the options available when building a porch, down to even the different types of flooring.
