One thing I’ve been sorely lacking in the Dollhouse kitchen in Ohio is drinking glasses. I have a lot of elegant stemware and glassware for special dinners and holidays, but do not have anything that’s appropriate for every day. I’ve been making do with some colorful, solo cup-style glassware that I bought many years ago that is similar to these “redneck” solo cup wine glasses below. I wish I had a photo to show you, but I’m not in Ohio at the moment. Just imagine the hard plastic solo cup below, minus its stem.
I’ve ordered regular drinking glasses online a few times, but have never liked them once they arrived. They were always too straight up or too clunky and heavy. I’m picky about my everyday glasses. lol I finally broke down and bought the glasses that I use back in Georgia. I’ve had these adorable La Rochere “bee” glasses for so many years, that I don’t remember when I first purchased them. This photo below doesn’t do them justice because it doesn’t show the details of the cute bees.
Here’s a better photo that shows the adorable bees.
You may remember seeing them in this table setting from many years ago. They come in a bunch of different sizes. I have them in several sizes, but the size that I like for every day (and for meals) is the 12 oz size which is what I’m using below. I just purchased two sets of the 12 oz size (a dozen) last month to take to the Dollhouse when I head back that way in a few days. If you need hardy glasses for every day, these are my favorite. So far, I’ve never broken one, I think it would take a lot to break one, and they do great in the dishwasher. Can’t recommend them enough! You’ll find them available here: Napoleon Bee Glasses, 12 oz size.
Oh my gosh, a lovely BNOTP reader told me about this awesome Nearly Naked popcorn and it is a huge, huge hit with everyone in my family! My grandsons love it and so do I! It’s American-grown, non-GMO, gluten-free, and made with real ingredients. The label states that it contains snow-white gourmet kernels, coconut oil, which is what it’s popped in, and a small amount of salt. I think it has the perfect amount of salt, and I’m always picky about things not being too salty. It comes in bigger bags but I like this size since it’s the perfect serving size a one person. You’ll find it available here: Nearly Naked Popcorn.
It was another BNOTP reader who told me about this avocado mayo. My daughter-in-law and I both use it now. The ingredients are: Avocado Oil, Organic Certified Human Free Range Egg Yolks, Water, Distilled Vinegar, Salt, Lime Juice Concentrate, Citric Aicid and Lime Oil. I love the flavor and I like that I can actually read/understand the ingredients. You’ll find it available here: Sir Kensington’s Avocado Oil Mayonnaise.
I like to eat fish but I always worry about its mercury content. Recently I discovered Safe Catch and have tried both their salmon and their tuna. I really like that they test all the fish they use to make sure their products are safe.
So far, I’ve tried their wild-caught salmon, which you’ll find available here: Safe Catch Wild Pacific Pink Salmon.
I’ve also tried their wild-caught Ahi Yellowfin Tuna, which is available here: Safe Catch Ahi Yellowfin Tuna.
Last night I ordered their wild-caught Albacore tuna to try. You’ll find it available here: Safe Catch Wild Albacore Tuna.
Another February favorite has to be these adorable protective “boots” for Stanley cups. I purchased my first Stanley cup last month and have had so much fun adding little boots and straw caps/covers to it.
These are my favorite little protective boots and you’ll find them available here: Adorable Boots for Stanley Cup.
Of course, Rusk had to make my favorites list! You can read more about why I really, really like this product in this previous post: The One Thing I Don’t Like About My White Hair & How I Fixed It. Rusk is available here: Rusk Thick Body and Texture Amplifier.
This adorable apron will be going back to the Dollhouse with me very soon. I saw a similar one on Instagram but when I followed the link, the pricing was in the $60 range! I didn’t want to spend that for an apron that I knew would probably be washed frequently. This apron is styled the same way as those that I saw on IG, but was much better priced! I like its crossover design and how easy it is to put on without needing any ties in the back. I love its deep pockets, too! You’ll find this cute spring apron available here: Cross Back Apron with Pockets.
Happy spring! See you tomorrow for Tablescape Thursday!
On the look out to hook up w/that Tuna!! franki
I love your picks and I am not fond of fish but I bought this tuna at Costco and It is great and even I can eat it.
My favorite canned tuna is the Wild Planet brand of Skipjack. Primal Kitchen makes a avocado oil mayonnaise, my husband’s favorite. When making tuna salad for myself I use dill flavored sour cream and add a little organic tarragon. DELICIOUS! Especially if you refrigerate it for a couple of hours before eating it.
That sounds yummy! I tried some dill added to my Safe Catch Salmon today, and it was really good. I just ordered tarragon and will try it the next time. Thanks for those suggestions, Maryann! I’ll have to look for dill flavor sour cream next time I’m in the store.
Love the apron. I think manufacturers need to recognize we need a deep pocket with a snap for cell phones.
The bunnies on those cups are so tempting. Who doesn’t love a bunny ?
Thumbs up for Rusk being a great company with beyond good customer service. The service rep offered to replace the bottle that Amazon had sent. The bottle of Thick that I ordered arrived already open (no cellophane seal & reduced volume) Amazon’s new return policy no longer offers a replacement or refund when this happens. Amazon referred my complaint to Rusk and Rusk offered to replace it. The rep made the suggestion to order only directly from Amazon not 3rd party carriers or order directly from Rusk ( which offers product coupons) Huge thumbs up to Rusk for being so customer oriented.
Thanks for the link to the apron! I love this style, but haven’t purchased because of the price of others I’ve looked at. Will definitely be purchasing this one!
